Sooo many ?'s-New to US/IOA

Hi! We will be heading to Orlando for 2 weeks in November 11/13-11/27, we are staying on site at Disney as usual, but my 9yo son is wanting to try US and IOA so we are going to schedule a day for each. I'm thinking that we'll make it the Sunday and Monday before Thanksgiving. So here are my ?'s- What kind of crowds should we expect that week? Should we buy the Express pass add on for this time of year and isn't it around $15? I don't mind paying the $$ because I want to be sure we can do all the main attractions without the stress of waiting in lines all day. Does anyone know how much a taxi will cost from Disney to US or are there cheaper options (we'd rather not rent a car). Also where can I get information on Emeril's, DH wants to try it-so anyone with opinions on that would be great. Thanks in advance- I know it's a lot of ?'s!!

I can only answer one of your questions. It shouldn't be busy at all the Sunday and Monday before Thanks giving but will be very busy the Sunday after Thanksgiving. So you shouldn't need an express booklet. I'd do Shrek first (get there before park opening) and then get a an express pass for Mummy.

The park usually opens 15 minutes or so from the published time.

If you go to IoA first, hit Hulk first and then Spiderman, then pick up an express pass for later in the day if you would like to ride one of them again.
