Hello,

I've just spoke to my wedding co-ordiantor and she has suggested the Sonoma room at the Contemporary Resort for our reception. I'm having an escape wedding at 2.30pm and we are looking to book this from 4.30pm til 8pm. Has anyone used this room before and does anyone have any piccies?

I'm a bit worried :sad2: :confused3 about using it as there's only 15 of us in total and there's a minimum of $2000 food and beverage to spend. My party are not large drinkers and I think that we wouldn't spend that much on food & drink....

Thanks.

About the money, for just dinner alone if you spend $100 per person, thats $1500, plus there's the cake, and you can add extra desserts. Plus drinks, even non-alcoholic ones cost like $7per person per hour. Although you can just pay for whatever is consumed. Depending on how much your guests drink, you might want a package.

I wanted to use the Napa Room, but my guest list got to large.

I'm pretty sure the cake doesn't count toward your minimum at the California Grill.

The site recommended by PrincessBrideKatie has a lot of alternative reception ideas for Escape brides. You may find something that suits the size of your group and budget better, like a meal at one of the Downtown Disney restaurants. Good luck!

We are having our dinner at the Sonoma Room. We have about 27 people at the moment and are about $800 over the minimum. I have the food & beverage menus if you'd like to see them. The cost of your cake is not included in the minimum because it will not come from the California Grill (if you have your wedding cake there). You can order a special dessert (we are having a Figment dessert served). There are also appetizers available before your meal begins. For the price, I think it is a great option especially if you are having a dessert party later in the evening. You have the room for quite a long time. We have it from 4:30pm to 9:30pm.

Here are some pictures of the room undecorated. DF and I were able to stop by on a trip to WDW over the summer. This gives you an idea of the views.

The purple double doors to the right are the entrance to the room.

The purple door in the rear is the exit to the catwalk (if you want to watch the fireworks, which we do). Also, the bar is next to that purple door.

If you look to the right you can see Spaceship Earth at Epcot.

Let me know if you have any questions... I'm happy to help! I'm soooo excited to be using this room for our dinner!
