SONICARE--Worth the $? Which model is best?

I'm considering the SONICARE toothbrush as a Christmas gift for DH. Which model is best? Should I get the sanitizer that goes with it? What/where are the best prices? TIA!

I've had two. First the e50 or something like that. It had wider heads but it worked well. Then we got the 5100. We've had it for over a year and we do like it.

However,the UV cleaner just broke last week. I'm not sure what we are going to do since it has been over a year.

WE do like the toothbrushes and it really makes our mouth feel good.

I have a Braun and love it. Always feels like I just got my dental cleaning.

I am on my second. I won't go back to a regular toothbrush. I'm not sure which model I have, but I made the mistake of not getting the same model as the 1st--I miss one feature in particular: it breaks up the two minutes of teeth brushing into 4 timed intervals. You're supposed to brush one section of your teeth, and when it makes a little noise, time to move on to the second. Sorry I can't remember what this feature is called, but I'd reccommend it. I believe mine were in the $80 price range.

I have an Oral B sonic toothbrush. I love it. I won't go back to regular toothbrushes again.

I bought the Philips Sonicare FlexCare Toothbrush RS930 in October, and am very happy with it so far.

We have two - one upstairs, one downstairs - and absolutely love them.

We have the separate sanitizer, so didn't need the built-in.

I second the timer feature. It's great!

Well, after reading your reviews and hearing my family rave about it, I went ahead and got the Sonicare Flexcare 980 off of eBay. It's supposedly a professional model only sold in dentist offices and, with LiveSearch's 25% off, it came out to under $100! Woo Hoo! Thanks for all of your input!
