DS just got his first driver's license. I trying to think of song titles/lyrics that center around driving. Any suggestions? :car:

The Beatles: Baby, you can drive my car. Yes, I'm going to be star. Baby, you can drive my car, and baby, I love you! Beep beep beep beep beep, yea!! :moped:

Rosemarie

how about that awful Eddie Rabbit song..."Oooooo drivin' my life away"...

Born to be wild has some driving lyrics

Little Red Corvette (well, that's not really about cars)

On The Road Again

Route 66

My 409 (Beach Boys)

Cruisin'

I think there's a cool song by Incubus called Drive.

I was going to say Panama by Van Halen but that might be a little too suggestive. ;)

These are great - keep them coming!

I'm putting together a scrapbook page, and thought it would be fun to include lines from songs (or titles) on the page that have to do with cars/driving.

"I Drove All Night" by Celine Dion (I think!) I really like that song!

How about, "Get out of My Dreams, Get Into My Car." (By Billy Ocean???)

I suppose it may not be appropriate ;)

"I can't drive 55."

Don't know your locale or you sons preference for beaches....but stretching it a bit since you are doing one-liners:

"ice ice baby"---"driving down A1A, beachfront avenue".

(we live off of A1A--so for me it's a driving song. Sad life I lead).

If he no longer drives the bus to school---well--you can probably figure that out ;)

'One piece at a time' by Johnny Cash
'Paradise by the dashboard light' by Meat Loaf
'Greased Lightning' from the movie Grease

"I'm drivin down the road and flirtin with disaster..." that's all I can remember...someone help me out. :rolleyes1

Life is a hiiiiighway! I wanna riiiiide it
All night long!

By Tom Cochran
Life's like a road that you travel on
When there's one day here and the next day gone
Somethimes you bend and sometimes you stand
Sometimes you turn your head to the wind
There's a world outside ev'ry darkened door
Where blues won't haunt you anymore
Where brave are free and lovers soar
Come ride with me to the distant shore
We won't hesitate
Break down the garden's gate
There's not much time left today

Life is a highway
I wanna ride it all night long
If you're going my way
I wanna drive it all night long

"Cars"...Gary Numan (here in my car, I feel safest of all...in cars)

One of my favs by Boston..."Don't Look Back" (the road is calling and TODAY is day...) or
"Been Such a Long Time" (so long, along the distant highway/good times & places that remind me...yea)

"I'm drivin down the road and flirtin with disaster..." that's all I can remember...someone help me out. :rolleyes1

Molly Hachet..."Flirtin' with Disaster"

How about Commander Cody's "Hot Rod Lincoln"?

My Pappy said, Son, you're gonna' drive me to drinkin'
If you don't stop drivin' that Hot Rod Lincoln

Have you heard this story of the Hot Rod Race
When Fords and Lincolns was settin' the pace
That story is true, I'm here to say
I was drivin' that Model A

It's got a Lincoln motor and it's really souped up
That Model A Vitimix makes it look like a pup
It's got eight cylinders and uses them all
It's got overdrive, just won't stall

With a four-barrel carb and a dual exhaust
And four-eleven gears you can really get lost
It's got safety tubes, but I ain't scared
The brakes are good, tires fair

Pulled out of San Pedro late one night
The moon and the stars was shinin' bright
We was drivin' up Grapevine Hill
Passing cars like they was standing still

All of a sudden in a wink of an eye
A Cadillac sedan passed us by
I said, Boys, that's a mark for me
By then the tail light was all you could see

Now the fellas was ribbin' me for bein' behind
So I thought I'd make the Lincoln unwind
Took my foot off the gas and man alive
I shoved it on down into overdrive

Wound it up to a hundred and ten
My speedometer said that I hit top end
My foot was glued like lead to the floor
That's all there is and there ain't no more

Now, the boys all thought I'd lost my sense
And telephone poles looked like a picket fence
They said, slow down, I see spots
The lines on the road just look like dots

Took a corner; sideswiped a truck
Crossed my fingers just for luck
My fenders was clickin' the guardrail posts
The guy beside me was white as a ghost

Smoke was comin' from out of the back
When I started to gain on that Cadillac
Knew I could catch him, I thought I could pass
Don't you know by then we'd be low on gas

We had flames comin' from out of the side
Feel the tension, man, what a ride
I said, Look out, boys, I've got a license to fly
And that Caddy pulled over and let us by

Now all of a sudden she started to knockin'
And down in the dips she started to rockin'
I looked in my mirror; a red light was blinkin'
The cops was after my Hot Rod Lincoln

They arrested me and they put me in jail
And called my Pappy to throw my bail
And he said, Son, you're gonna' drive me to drinkin'
If you don't stop drivin' that
Hot ... Rod ... Lincoln

"Who's gonna drive you hoooome, tonight?"
Sing it with me...
