Songs about pregnancy, or babies?

"The Story Goes On" from the musical Baby

I love the song In My Arms by Plumb. The cd does not come out till October but it is on Itunes. You can hear the song if you go to youtube and search for it.

it is a song that everytime I hear it makes me cry. It talks about how our children will find out that this world is not always ways fair, but they will always be safe in our arms.

This is one of my favorites, sung by Dan Hill:

When she told me
She was gonna have a baby
A part of me went weighless
For the first time in my life
There was nothing I could say
It's like a miracle from the stars above
Paralized with fear
I was overcome with love

She said soon you'll hear the beating
Of an unborn heart
This is the answer
You've been searching for so hard
And for the first time in my life I felt
The wave of love so deep
As I listened for the unborn child's heartbeat

I said something stupid like, how are you feeling
She smiled the warmest smile I've ever seen
Ohhh, I guess that said it all
Now were a far cry from the storybook romance
Something in her eyes, made me crumble
I reached out for her hand

She said soon, you'll hear the beating
Of an unborn heart
This is the answer
You've been searching for so hard
And for the first time in my life I felt
The wave of love so deep
As I listened for the unborn child's heartbeat

Now we all know how crazy
This world can be sometimes
And I lie awake at night and wonder
How a child survives
Beyond the danger in the strangers
And the inhumanity
Lord give us strength to someday find a world that lives in peace

Ohhh

Soon, you'll hear the beating
Of an unborn heart
This is the answer
You've been searching for so hard
And for the first time in my life I felt
The wave of love so deep
As I listened for the unborn child's heartbeat

Ohhh, I can almost hear the beating...

Here is another: I sang my kids to sleep with this song.....ahh, memories.

CHILD OF MINE

Although you see the world different than me
Sometimes I can touch upon the wonders that you see
All the new colors and pictures you've designed
Oh yes, sweet darling
So glad you are a child of mine

Child of mine, child of mine
Oh yes, sweet darling
So glad you are a child of mine

You don't need direction, you know which way to go
And I don't want to hold you back, I just want to watch you grow
You're the one who taught me you don't have to look behind
Oh yes, sweet darling
So glad you are a child of mine

Child of mine, child of mine
Oh yes, sweet darling
So glad you are a child of mine

Nobody's gonna kill your dreams
Or tell you how to live your life
There'll always be people to make it hard for a while
But you'll change their heads when they see you smile

The times you were born in may not have been the best
But you can make the times to come better than the rest
I know you will be honest if you can't always be kind
Oh yes, sweet darling
So glad you are a child of mine

Child of mine, child of mine,
Oh yes, sweet darling
So glad you are a child of mine

Child of mine, child of mine
Oh yes, sweet darling
So glad you are a child of mine

This is not technically a baby song, and I don't even know the titel or artist, but I know someone will!!

When I was pregnant for the 1st time, the song "I knew I loved you before I met you. I think I brought you into life" or something like that came out on the radio (2000). I know it was a love song, but I sang it as a love song for my unborn child.

It's "I Knew I Loved You" by Savage Garden

Come on girls. Let's get the disclaimer out there. Alot of these songs made me cry while pregnant, but so did the "heartbeat Khala" beanie at the Disney Store. We are all a bit hormonally challenged during those months.:thumbsup2

"Eat for Two" by 10,000 Maniacs.

Also, "Sweet Child o' Mine" by Guns and Roses - I bet it's been ages since you heard that song, but when you listen to it, it's really nice.

"Little Miss Magic" by Jimmy Buffett is really sweet - he wrote it for his daughter. It's more from the dad's perspective, but still nice.

:lmao:

All too true...I was a wreck, cried at pretty much everything. We went to see the movie "Blow" w/Johnny Depp, and I bawled my eyes out at the end...where he imagines that his daughter has come to visit him in prison. Seriously, I was crying so hard people were staring, and DH just kept saying "She's pregnant..." and everyone would just sort of nod and walk away...took me half an hour to stop crying...
