I just checked my itinerary on song from Bos to Mco this morning for our August flight- they have cancelled 2 flights that day, moved us to another flight and changed seat assignments. They have the new flights entirely full, the only seat changes you can make are into exit rows. They bumped us over the wing for our flight back, and we can't change into a exit row with our kids. They also split us so we have a 4 and 6 year old sitting alone; our only option is to get to the airport very early to make a change where we can sit together.

I wouldn't worry yet since your flight isn't until August. I booked in Feb. for our May flight and it's changed a number of times. It's almost back to the original times/etc. now. As more people book they'll add flights back in as needed.

Thanks for letting me know they might change it back. I've never had a flight cancelled on me before, and I've traveled quite often; it threw me for a little bit.
Thanks

Mine has not changed yet (except to Song) for our Nov/Dec trip but I'm sure it will. Especially the flight down since we're the only ones on it right now!

I did notice though, after reading your post that airfare came down for our itinerary. We bought 4 tickets non-stop Nov 29 - Dec 7 for $724 and my BIL bought a few weeks later and wanted to lock it in before he spent the money so he bought one-stop going down with a 3 hour lay over!!! and non-stop coming home for $850 total and the non-stops were outragious! They were $380 per person ($1520).

Well, today, that same itinerary like mine (non-stops) is back down to $820 for 4 tickets rather than $1520!!!

My poor BIL. I can't imagine waiting in a strange airport for 3 hours just to get to orlando. He just didn't want to wait. And this is his and his family's first time flying too!

I'm hoping if they change his flight dramatically, he can insist on a non-stop going down??

They cancelled our 7:20 Am flight out of Boston and put us on the 11:30. Unacceptable! I cancelled and will wait for Southwest from Providence.

I just got off the phone with Delta (couldn't reach a real person at Song) because I was concerned about my August flights. My itinerary was showing everything ok, however if I went in to try a new reservation, my flight to Orlando was not showing at all. I too am flying from Boston. The Delta agent checked and double checked, and believes that my flight is no longer showing because it is entirely sold out. Hopefully, she's correct, and they won't cancel a full flight.

GallajO - I'm curious what your flight info was - which flight was cancelled and where you are now. I'm on an 11:35 flight out of Logan. Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention.

I was scheduled for the 7:20 AM flight on Aug. 16th; they cancelled it and now the earliest flight is the 11:35, and if you are trying to get a new reserevation that flight won't show up; the only 2 flights they are booking for that day are the 3:30 PM amd 7:30 Pm flights. I know the 7:20 flight only had 20-30 empty seats, so I assume the 11:35 they moved everyone to is currently very overbooked.

This has happened to me too!

My outbound from BOS to MCO has not changed however my return has. I was scheduled to to fly MCO-BOS at 7:00pm
They changed it to 3:25 and now will not assign my seats. I am travelling with a party of 4. My wife is a "white nuckle" flyer and my kids have not flown before.

I called Song and the agent could not and would not offer any assistance. She the stated that maybe I should switch my days of travel!

I spoke to her supervisor who was also of no help. The best she could offer was a direct flight (with seats together) that departs at 11:30am. This will wipe away one whole vacation day. She then offered a connecting flight through ATL that departs at 5:45pm but doen't get into BOS till 10:45pm. I personally would not mind the connection but my wife will not go for it.

I'm not happy with Song........and I've never had this problem with United. I should have stuck with United!

I just put this on another thread here, but my 7:20 flight from Boston in Dec got cancelled too. It seems like the early flights are the ones going.
Right now we are on an 11:35 flight. While Im not too happy about that, I can deal with it. If it gets changed again to much later in the day I think I will forget this whole flying thing. Its more stress than its worth(we already had 1 fiasco with American flights for this trip).

CAP aircrew, did they say why they wouldnt assign seats? That is frightening me! I am like your wife(DH usually has claw prints on his arm after a flight with me), and we have 2 young kids. To me the reason for booking so early is to get the seats we want and to be together. DH plans to call tonight to get our seats confirmed, and Im hoping we dont get the treatment you got. I cant believe they wouldnt do that for you!
Good luck!

I just emailed Song and asked them what was going on with that 7:20am flight from BOS to MCO. I have been checking various dates and times through this next year to get an idea of our fare for next April/May and now there is NO 7:20 am flight at all out of BOS. This would really be a bummer.....losing most of the day traveling as opposed to being there and eating lunch at WDW. I'll let you all know if/what the reply reveals.

I just checked Song's website again and now they do have us with confirmed seats on the 3:25pm flight back to BOS. Row 11 ABCD which was the same seats as the 7:00pm flight. This I can live with. Let's just hope it doesn't change again!

Minster22......I don't believe they are cancelling all their 7:20am flights (or at least I hope not!). I am still scheduled to depart BOS-MCO at 7:20am on 6/27. That flight has not changed......yet!

CAMCOLT......neither the CSR or the supervisor were very helpful on the phone at all with me. The only seats that were available for reassignment were exit row seats. Typically, these are not assigned out until the day of departure and they will never put children in these rows. Since I am travelling with a 7 and 8 year old, this would not help us. Have you checked their website to see what you have for seat assignments? I would do that first and then give them a call to see what they can do. I was not angry with them however I was persisitent. I fly often enough to know that "pushy" doesn't always get the worm! While I found the CSR and Supervisor to not be very helpful at all, they must have done something because, I now have assigned seats on the 3:35pm flight.

Hope all works out well. I'm curious to know.

On their website they only show exit seats to be assigned also. I think that may cause a problem for a lot of people; I also am traveling with kids, and can't go into an exit row. They show the new flight as totally full, except for those exit rows; the CSR I spoke with on the phone claimed they may not be releasing seats for reassignment. I take that to mean the flights are probably very overbooked at this point. She suggested getting to the airport several hours early to try to get new seat assignments.
She didn't think it was funny when I suggested the flight attendants would have to babysit my kids if we were split up.:p

I have also sent a thoughtfully worded email to Song about their changing schedule; Saturday is a very busy travel day, I can't imagine why they would cancell a filght that was almost full.

Thanks for the info CAP, and Im glad it worked out for you. We were in 2CDEF, but on the current flight C is already taken so the same seats wont work for us here(I was looking forward to not having to worry about the kids kicking people in front of them). On our itinerary it still says "not assigned", however there seem to be plenty of available seats on the new flight, so hopefully it wont be a problem when DH calls.

CamColt........you should be able to assign your seats right on their website. I know when they change planes, it sometimes will not allow you to do it. You will then need to call to get your seat assignments. I would not put off calling though, because a lot can happen in the span of a few hours. When you call, I would make every effort to see if they can get you the same seats. You never know! Good luck.

I just checked my flights for Nov/Dec before reading this and found our flight home changed with our seats now unassigned. I called and had her rebook the same seats. I saw the confirmed seats for myself and the kids show up on the website, but not my DHs. I just used the change seat assignment button and chose his original seat.

This is going to be pain to keep rechecking. I already had to do reassigning when they switched over from Delta Express.

Interesting! I checked on line a few times today and it kept saying nonassigned. DH just called and they told him we were confirmed in seats 5A-D(3 yo is alone in D, LOL!). I said well it still says were not. I checked again after the call and now it has our seats listed.
Now if only they would change the time of that flight to be earlier!!! ;)

You can always claim the changes they made impose too much on you and request a full refund.

They may give you the run around but in the end, they'll refund your payment because it is not what you originally paid for and the changes are dramatic.

Use your payment to fly another airline..

Checking in November, BOS-MCO, funny they eliminated the earliest flight down and the latest flight (7 PM) back. So people are losing Disney time on both ends.

Also noticed that some of the flights have slibhtly lower fares than two days ago.

If the later return flight had lesser demand, I am guessing it is not inherently lesser demand but rather there were fewer lower price seats on that flight that sold out. Many flights around the holiday season went up to Y fare (the everyday high price) and once that happens, long advance bookints stop.
