I was checking for a cheaper price for return flights to Boston today, and sometime overnight Song added the early flight down (7AM) and a late flight back (6 PM) for my dates in January. The prices are still very good also, $95.00 each way. I was the first to book the return flight, too, so I had our chioce of seats anywhere.
If you're looking for flights, give them a look.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!

I just called Delta and changed our January 18th flight coming home to 6:00 pm with NO change fees!!! :bounce: Now instead of a 4:30 flight, we get to stay a couple of extra hours, woopee!!!!

Congrats, let's keep our fingers crossed they keep these flights on the schedule now. When I went down in August, the latest return was about 3:30. We wasted a whole day just getting into the airport.

Did a spot check on some popular dates (such as February vacation) and there are some "cheap" seats on each one.

Did not figure out how many cheap seats per flight (I do know one way to calculate this) but the point I am trying to make is that Song did not black out some of the dates as far as cheap seats go.

Next trip planned: Nov. '03 BOS-MCO via Song, All Star Music.

Gallajo, I just noticed where you're from. I spent my whole childhood going to Humarock for our Thanksgiving dinners to my Aunt's house across from Humarock Beach! Such wonderful memories...we also love Rexhame Beach, our favorite beach. I grew up in Canton and summered in W. Yarmouth. But the whole stretch of Humarock is so nice, I'd love to get a cottage somewhere around Rexhame when I hit the lottery some day ;) .

DisneyWorld, here we come in January! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Jillpie, I've only been in Scituate for 9 years, and I wish I were near the beach, but I'm afraid not. I did. howveer go to school in Canton, St. John's, back in the 80's.
Keep on playing the lottery, just not on the days I do.:D
Maybe someday we'll be neighbors on the beach.

St. John's...my two sisters and two brothers all went there. Me, I went to Canton High. I guess by then, my Mom had enough of the sisters?

Have you seen the Mega Millions total lately?? I won't tell you, cuz I'm gonna be the big winner ;) , thats right, I'll buy the whole darn fleet of Song planes!! :D

I have been waiting to book my April vacation flights - fares have been from $450 to $800 r/t PER PERSON! I figured my only hope was Southwest out of Manchester at this point. After reading your post, I went to the delta site and voila! A 7 am flight out on April 18 and a 6 pm flight home on April 24! 2 tickets cost $257 each, 2 were $294 and 1 was $314, so it averaged out to $283 per person which is GREAT as far as I'm concerned for April vacation. I may have done better when SW came out with their fares, but I didn't want to chance it. Plus, we are 15 mins from Logan and 1 hour from Manchester!!!
I bet lots of people screamed for them to bring back that 7 AM flight - you are there before lunchtime!!!!

This is great! We changed and now leave at 7:00, and come home at 6:00. This adds about 6 hours to our vacation AND we got $40.00 vouchers for each of the 4 of us. The only downside is we have already booked our flights for next July. Boy do I wish I hadnt so I could save 160.00 off of those! Chances are we wont use the vouchers in a year. :(

Gallajo,

I am also in Scituate! What a small world. Glad to see the 7AM flight has been returned to their schedule. We used this flight for our 2 trips this past summer.

I would highly recommend checking out and perhaps booking on Song's website:
www.flysong.com
It explains their excellent pricing sytem too; remarkably simple and predictable for an airline: first booked are the cheapest - period! Once the cheapest seats ($100 each way) are sold out, the next batch go up to $137, or $185 each way, and once those sell out, even more. So the sooner you book, the sooner you have the good fare (the best fare) locked in. During peak times (school vacation and such) I expect the number of $100 BOS-MCO seats are more limited. I may be mistaken, but I think Song fares top out at $300 each way, and those are only for seats that are almost sold out (max: $600) Using their site, I was able to find, as of this moment, $200 round trip fare out of Logan during April the week of Patriots' Day.:teeth: and that rate was only on the new early/late flight combo. Maybe business is picking up.

We are 20 mins from Logan, so I am flying Song whenever we go to Fla, and I am gonna reserve as soon as I can (11 months I think). I really like the tricks, no-nonsense price philosophy. Good snacks too.

Well, I guess word is getting out and the good prices are sold out because as of right now the same flight that was $237 this morning is now $342...bummer!

I was actually tempted to switch our trip next year from August to April with the airfare what it was early this morning! Now I'll have to stick with August.:(

Ps...it varies greatly on what day you leave and come back. I finally found $100 each way by leaving on sat and coming back on a week day!

pumpkinboy, I found my fare pricing not to follow the pattern you described.

I have been tracking flights from Hartford (BDL) my particular flights started at $156.00 each way stayed there for several months then lowered to $127.00 and finally dropped to the price I was looking for $86.50 for my Jan. 04 time frame. I booked as soon as the rate drop came (it was timed to the extension of Southwest Air dates past my travel dates).

Unfortunatly, my flights have now been cancelled and I am left with time choices on SONG that don't work nearly as well as the flights I had booked(they were perfect, early down, late back nonstop!)...now I must move to Delta and connecting flights. A major disapointment for me in relation to SONG airline.
