I just realized that my son will turn 10 in January (how is that happening....wow time flies). We are going to go to the parks next week and again before January, so it still makes sense to purchase an AP.... however we were going to plan on going next August to get one more use out of those AP's, but just realized he will be 10.... will he still be able to use them or will that not work..... will they let me pay the extra $40 now and get him the adult AP?
Just when I think I know everything there is to know about the mouse house...I think of another question. TIA

 my son is sitting next to me and said I had to put a dancing banana in my post

You will have no problem using his Child AP on your next trip. When you purchase the APs (or trade in AP vouchers) the CM will ask for each person's DOB so it will be tied to your DS's pass. If there is any question about his age on your second trip they will be able to see that he turned 10 after the AP purchase...but I doubt anyone will even question it.

He can use the child's AP until the next renewal date, he would then need an adult AP. When you buy a multi-day ticket, it goes by the age at first use.

So, if my son is turning 10 next May, and we are not going until June, I can't buy his multi-day pass now to lock in the lower rate unless he uses it once before his birthday? (Just making sure I understand correctly)

OP

After his birthday you can take it one of the customer service ticket window and they will exchange it for an adult one, if you want, but in most cases you will be able to just keep using the child’s ticket. When we got the celebration gift certificate on my ds’s 10th birthday they upgraded it at that time.

It is my understanding that for MYW tickets that they have to be valid on the first day of use so if the child were 10 before the first day of use a child’s ticket would not be valid.

No, he has to use it at least once before he turns 10 to get the Guest 3-9 ticket. If he isn't going to use it for the first time until after he turns 10, he needs a Guest 10+ AP.

I am never surprised at the wealth of information that ya'll have. That makes sense to me and also eases my mind a little... no worries I will have another problem in the next couple minutes ;)
