Ahhh - I don't even know how to feel. His hair was his crowning glory.

However - he had SO MUCH of it, and SO THICK - it was enough to make TWO donations to Locks of Love.

Here we go...

Before (September at WDW):

But he always wore it in a pony:

And the cutting, the hair and the after - I wish his Dad had used a camera better than his BlackBerry:

Way to go! That is a lot of hair. He looks very good with and without it though.

That was a terrific thing for your son to do. My DD recently donated her hair to Locks of Love - we lost my DH to cancer so this really meant a lot to us. Many thanks to your son for donating. He looks great in both the before & after pics. Don't worry, he can always let it grow back.

I love the new do! This is a great thing. Truthfully I like the new cut better.

That was a LOT of hair -- and so shiny and healthy! I know L of L will be thrilled to get his donation!

I bet he feels like he is about to float away, with the weight gone. Nice looking young man, either way.

It was - it was superb hair. Just fantastic.

I think what's bugging me, is it was my Mom's hair of her youth. KWIM? He had her hair. And my mom is gone, and now that stinking hair I loved so much, is gone, too. Blah.

I know that it's all for good though. :goodvibes

Mom's hair:

Good for him!!! I think he looks great with the short hair-shows off his handsome face:thumbsup2

My DD has donated 3 times to locks of love and my DS also surprised us over the Thanksgiving day college break.....he too donated 10 inches of his hair and now has little of it left on his head. It's taking a bit to get used to seeing him without shoulder length hair (longer than that really) but I'm adjusting and very proud.

Good for your son. I am involved a lot with the American Caner Society and both Locks of Love and Wigs for Kids are very involved and do a lot of good for people.

I attempted in 2007 to grow my hair out to do the same but not only did it look terrible (think perm fro hybrid) but it got to about 6.5 inches and the growth slowed down too much. I had to give up and write a check to Wigs for Kids instead.

It's great to see your son do something that I know benefits others. Good karma points.

My daughter just donated to Locks of Love for the second time and is working toward her third time. It's really great for a guy to do so!

Looks good :thumbsup2. It's nice to hear so many people donate to Locks of Love.

Wow! He does have fantastic hair... I'm jealous! I think the new haircut is really flattering on him.

That's a great thing he did.

Oh, I feel your pain! I can't imagine if my husband cut his hair! But, what a wonderful thing for your son to do and the short hair looks great on him.

Awww, I can totally understand why you'd be a little bummed. It will grow back though (eventually).

That's a wonderful thing your son did. He's a handsome young man with and without the long hair and obviously has a good heart. :)

Good cause :thumbsup2

My DD has done it too and I cried :sad1: both joy and sadness tears

I like your son with short hair ;)

I thought LofL only did alapocia?:confused3

What a great thing to do. I did it a few years ago and am gearing up to again. It's an awesome feeling. I do like the style he has now more than before. He's a cutie.

I think your mom and my mom were in similarly themed weddings...we had a hat downstairs just like that one, only dark green. :rotfl:

On a more serious note, I think it's great that your son donated such beautiful hair, and I'm sure it's both a figurative and literal weight off his shoulders. I've donated to Locks of Love 3 times, and now I really appreciate the "short hair" times more than the long hair. It's so much work to take care of longer hair. He looks great, but it's ok to miss it a little. Hopefully you can remember what good he's done for someone else, and I'm sure your mom would have been proud of that fact.
