Somewhere quiet for a phone call in the MK?

No, don't do people mover, there is narration. (Paging Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow)

There are restrooms right there, kind of near buzz and space mountain, that are never too busy and there are benches outside and a quiet area.

The restrooms near Space Mt are very quite and the benches are shaded and usually not many people over there.

Any other ideas? If I can't find anywhere, I will probably just sit out on the call and ask someone in the group to update me afterward. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. If it is closed (which it always seems to be), it is deserted, quiet, covered, nice view, convenient.

I unexpectedly had to take a work related call while in the MK last week. I sat down on benches by the restrooms near space mountain. There were very few people around, but there was repeated narration from the Peoplemover ride.

Surprisingly, I found the walkway on the east side of the castle, just past the drawbridge, was a good place for an unexpected phone call. It's far enough away from the hub so that you can't hear the Main Street music. I found a little nook next to a cast member access door. The only times where it was awkward was when there was a park announcement, when a CM had to use the door, and also when the occasional kid would make noise. I don't think the people on the line noticed I was at a theme park though.

I usually go to Tomorrowland, near the bathrooms by Space Mountain and the face painting station - there's a quiet sitting area over there!

One that hasn't been mentioned yet is "Center Street" - the cute little dead end alley off of main street (next to the jewelry shop). My group went back there for photos last weekend and it was very quiet and peaceful. There are several benches and a couple little cafe-style table/chair sets. There are even payphones back there, so the area was designed with phone calls in mind.

I agree with others that PeopleMover narration would be too noisy, plus I'd be a little concerned with keeping the signal on the inside portions of the ride.

A few thoughts:
- Like several have mentioned, the path from Space Mountain back towards Barnstormer. Only problem with that is a train going by.
- The rest room area near Crystal Palace
- Near Splash Mountain, there's a path that heads back into a non-guest area. You can walk back several feet before the gate. There shouldn't be anyone there and I don't think there would be much noise from Splash Mtn. That path would be on the Pecos Bill side of Splash.
- Depending on what time of day, you might be able to sit in Tortuga Tavern or the outside of the new Jungle Cruise restaurant (forgot the name). There's some big chairs there and if they're not open yet, it might be a good spot.
- Maybe somewhere near the Carousel of Progress entrance.

I second the nook off Main Street called "Center Street." It's very quaint and quiet. I grab a cup of coffee and mosey around.

I had to take a quiet conference call while I was in Epcot last year & I went to Guest Relations who allowed me to use a quiet room they had in their building. It was ideal. I imagine there is something like that in MK. I know for a fact that the walkway between Space Mountain & Barnstormer is not a good spot for a quiet half hour phone conversation because the train goes right past there & it is LOUD. I've tried it. Doesn't work. So, my suggestion is to ask MK guest relations if they have a quiet room you can use for your phone call. My other suggestion is to take the call at your resort. But, unless you've tried to find a quiet spot for a phone call in the parks before, you really don't know how loud even the "quiet" spots are. Good luck!!

Outside the bathroom area behind Gastons Tavern would work too. It is a walled off area - nice quiet spot for a break too - with some hidden outlets to charge up!

We were in WDW two years ago while in the middle of selling our house--as inspection was being done, etc. (I don't recommend this, BTW, it was not ideal timing!). As it turns out, no where in the parks is as quiet when you are on an important phone call as it seems to be when you are "scoping it out". We had several spots in the parks we thought would be nice and quiet, but you just don't realize how much general background noise/music there is everywhere. I think asking Guest Services about an indoor location might be your best bet.

I've sat in Tortuga Tavern & chatted with family on the phone before. It's very quiet and perfect if they aren't open.

I wouldn't do the conference call while on vacation at WDW. Have someone else participate for you, takes notes, and give the info to you.

The only thing about this is making sure you time the call so you don't end up in the middle of a parade on Main Street. ;)

I just received the meeting invite today and the group decided on a time that is right in the middle of the day and might result in me having to sit out on 7DMT or A&E - so I'll be doing as you suggest, skipping the call and hanging out with my family instead. :D The group leader encouraged me to do the same, so I don't feel bad about it at all.

I really appreciate all the advice from everyone, though!

It's quiet until Gaston comes out for a M&G - then it gets pretty rowdy.

Gaston doesn't meet by the bathrooms though. There is a small courtyard, for lack of a better term, through a doorway, before you get to the bathrooms. There is also a door there to go backstage. When you sit back there for 10 to 15 minutes, you will see many cast members going in and out.

Besides Tommorrowland Terrace, the outside seating area in the restaurant across from Pirates of the Caribbean (I can't remember the name offhand) was pretty quiet. We took a rest break there, no one was around, and the people passing by weren't noisy at all.
