somewhere 1/2 way to stay first night....

CAN ANYONE SUGGESt.....somewhere about n hour / hour and a bit away from DLRP to stay at???
anyone been?

we have a boat booked, dover calais for lunchtime friday (our anniversary!)
and have sequoia lodge booked for sat and sun night, but was planning on staying somewhere on route to break up driving on friday, but would get us there nice and early on sat still.
preferablya nice hotel with reasturant or nearby to eat, as its our anniverasy!

weve driven b4 ut i dont know where to start to look!!!
any suggestions!

Sorry cant really help much but how about driving towards Paris (not into Paris) as route will go round Paris near CDG. Staying somewhere near there and going into Paris for an anniversary meal or just an evening stroll along the Seine.

Weve stayed at a campsite at Berny Riviere before (about 1 hr away from DLP) near Soissons and Compeigne. Both are nice towns but cant really recommend any hotels nearby

If it was me I think Id be tempted to just go staright to DLP- stay off site for a night and perhaps go into Paris from there for the evening
