I'll try to put this in the least complicated way I can. No one in my family is an expert on WDW tickets now that it's all done on the MB, so please bear with me.

Basically, my family is going to be in WDW for about 7 days this August. We originally bought 6-day park hopper passes, but now want another day in the parks. This ticket would only be for MK, so we wouldn't be getting another park hopper ticket. If we added another standard, 1-day MK-only ticket to our package, how would the park know to use that ticket on the day we want it, instead of using one of our park hopper tickets? Do we have to say something to guest services/the people at the ticket scanners? Sorry if this didn't make any sense.

If you add another day to your existing tickets it will be a park hopper. It'll cost you about $10 per ticket.

You could buy separate 1 day MK-only tickets, but they would cost $100+ each.

Just call down and have them add a day. You will only have to pay the difference from a 6 day pass to a 7 day pass (~$10). The park hopper option applies to all days on the pass, so it will apply to the new day as well.

Said another way:

1. USE you existing ticket at least one time to go into any park BEFORE you upgrade.
2. Go to any ticket booth or Guest Relations.
3. Ask to upgrade your current ticket by one day.
4. Pay $10.65 (per ticket) for the one-day upgrade.
5. Done.

For future reference you go to the WDW web site and look under tickets and it lists the cost of tickets by number of days. $10+ is pretty good deal for extra days. I know we'll probably add days to cover our arrival and departure days on the next trip.
