Sometimes You Pay Rack Rate-Update Got AAA Rate

DH gave me 9 days notice to book a trip leaving July 1st. This didn't give me much of a chance to get any discount at all. We wanted to say on-site. I booked All Star Music At Rack. The Only AP Moderate was a King Room at POFQ. DH said stay with Music. Sometimes you pay RACK rate because you just want to go.....
Its killing me to pay RACK, but it is a Holiday Week and the resorts are full....
I am happy....
I have been persistant, called back today, and got the AAA rate for my 7/1 arrival at All Star Music. Yippee. The credit to my account is now $73.88.

yeah..it hurts doesn't it? Although we are paying rack rate for the Poly in Sept at least we're getting the DDP for free, which saves me about 1200 in food so that's okay...BUT we added a night and that night isn't available for the Poly for either AP or DDP so we're paying rack and just that. Ouch!

Paid rack today for 12/8/07 at AsMo as DW decided to add 1 day extra to the trip. At least i have plenty of time for a code to come out to try and save a little.

I figure in the end it all averages out. Sometimes I get a great AP or Fla Res rate, sometimes I get the middle of the road AAA rate and sometimes I have to pay rack rate. I try to stay at the more expensive resorts when I can get the best discounts, and the less expensive ones when I can't.

I know the feeling.

Most of my vacations are booked on dates that I choose.

I don't watch for specials and codes because I want to choose my dates.
I just book the room ask if there is a AAA discount and then pay the price with or without the AAA discount.

Not only did we get a last minute AAA rate, we got upgraded at check in to a king handicapp room with tub in Calypso in building 1, second floor. It rained heavy during the entire trip, so we appreciated being close to the Melody Hall.

Nope. You can have free dining or a AAA discount, but not both. Free dining is the better deal. Enjoy your trip!
