Sometimes my job just sucks.

And today was one of those days. Dispatched in our district for a person who had been shot in the chest, told by Fire Alarm that the scene was not secured. After the police arrived and cleared the scene we went in to find not only one, but two male patients suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both were in mid 30's the first was shot in the chest and was DOA, the second was shot in the neck was still breathing but was not improving as we worked on him. He was transported to the trauma center but, we haven't heard his condition.
The police major crime squad is investigating and I'm sure will find out the rest of the story later.
All the guys that went are okay but, it kind of spoils the mood for the holiday.

I know today was a bad day but just remember not all days are like this one and think about all the good that you guys do. You can't save everybody no matter how hard you try. Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed. I for one know how hard your job can be. I am a 911 dispatcher and an EMT so I know what kind of stuff goes on in the world. I for one want to thank you for the job that you do. Stay safe and I will keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers.

That is terrible, and must be very draining on you emotionally to have to face such scenarios so often. I know I couldn't do it. Watching this stuff on the news is even too tough for me at times and I must flip the channel.

Thank you for being there for all of us when we are at our most needy! You are appreciated more than you know!
