I hate hearing myself speak. If I ever hear a recording of me speaking (or even worse **shutter** watch a video) I always think UGH, do I really sound like that? I remember the first time I ever heard myself speak it was at the Boston Museum of Science. They had this phone like display set up where you could talk into it, and it played your voice back (this was back in the early 70's). For the longest time I refused to believe that it was really me.

i don't like hearing myself talk much either. i used to think that i had a really deep voice for a girl.........until i heard that one chick from 7th Heaven talk(Jessica Biel...is it?). then i didn't worry so much about that.

i think my voice is young sounding(does that even make sense?). it makes me sound younger than i am.

Only time I really hear it is on recordings...then I am like...sheesh I sound like I came from the hills of Southern Ohio...and I was born in Calif and raised in Seattle, only moving to Ohio when I was a teen..

When I hear myself on an answering machine I can hardly believe it is me! I seem to have much more of a New Yorker accent then I previously thought. Especially if I start to talk quickly.

Me too! We got a new phone system last week and the kids said "mommy make a greeting". When I played it back my husband from the other room said "Is that your Mother"? We sound soooo alike its scary and since I have made fun of the way she says certain words since I'm a kid, that sucks for me! LOL

I always thought I had a deep voice for a girl. Then I heard my voicemail recording a few years ago and I swear it wasn't me. There was no way my voice was really that high pitched. A few voicemail recordings later and I guess my voice really does sound like that. But I sound so girly and ditzy! It can't be me!
