We start saving to go when we get back from our last time going to Disney, but with the 5 of us it still takes 2 to 3 years to save enough to go again. I think I just have the Disney blues....:earsboy:. We will get there....It just feels like forever away!!!!!

It seems so far away that it seems like they keep adding days to the year. You start planning, booking rooms, air fare, then bam, nothing to do but wait, I hate waiting...lol

:goodvibes I love having a ticker! Even if it is 500 days out! Also we start filling our Disney bin right away - takes the edge off by doing it in small increments - so 1 day I get ponchos at the Dollar store, then sunscreen at Costco ...you get the idea! Enjoy the journey as much as the destination :thumbsup2

We just got back last week. We have decided our next trip is October 2014. It seems so far away.

I know how you feel. We are a family of 5 and we go every other year. I start buying my gift cards at Target as soon as we come home. My hubby takes about a year to get the itch to go back, but for me and the kids it starts about a week after we get home.

We just went in October....it was soooo long ago! I get so jealous of the people who can go every year, or more than once a year! I have a nice chunk of change saved so far but with 2 in college and one in preschool it takes forever! I never take some things out of the Disney bin! And we do small little weekend trips to zoos and Six flags once a summer to get by but it just isn't the "Happiest Place on Earth!":rolleyes1

We're the same way. With 5 of us it's every three years for a trip. Our next trip is in 19 days and it seems like forever away.

Our last trip was in October 2012 and our next trip isnt until June 2014. It seems so far away! We have been planning the 2014 one since we got back from our last trip. At least we are almost a year out now.
I agree with the poster who said make a ticker. I made ours and it was the longest one we have ever had...but at least I have one:goodvibes

Let's be planning buddies.... we're going early August 2014. Like you, we're a family of 5, so the saving isn't easy.

When are you going, and where are you planning to stay?

We are thinking late October 2014. Love the low crowds and less stress not too mention the less heat! Last time we went(last September) we stayed 5 days at POR and then did 6 at Bonnet Creek. My guys(DH, DS21, DS20, and DS3) really loved staying at Bonnet Creek. Each had their own rooms and more space to lay around. Don't get me wrong...We love staying on site but trying to watch our wallet too! We have 2 in college and lots of medical bills due to a son undergoing chemo.

I try to put 50 a week into the Disney savings but more often than not it ends up being only 20. Pesky stuff like baseball cleates and food get in the way! LOL:rotfl2:

My husband doesn't get into the planning too much except to say that he really likes to go to Ohana for supper one night. He loves all of us sitting on the beach after supper and watching Cindy's castle lighting up and seeing the water parade going on. (While eating a dolewhip, of course!)

I wish the economy was better and it was cheaper to get there. We drove from Northwest Illinois last year and it wasn't too bad but we would rather fly. Especially with the 3 year old!!!!

I really need to start couponing more. I don't want to go crazy and have 80 bottles of shampoo in the basement but it would be nice to save some money on the things we use on a regular basis around the house. I read all kinds of tips on how to set aside money and we do a lot but we could always do more!!! Any suggestions are appreciated!

Our plan is October 2014 too; we want to see the Seven Dwarves Mine Coaster. I am trying to swing at least a short trip somewhere in there but it's not looking good - just bought a car so I dumped as much money as I could into that!

I haven't figured out how to make the time pass by just yet - but I know it WILL pass, so I guess I'll just grin and bear it! :smokin:

I'm trying to remind myself that we are lucky. A lot of people can never afford to go at all.... :worried: And we have been 4 times in the last 20 years. We have friends that go every year whether they can afford it or not.

I was thinking about starting to buy one ticket at a time through undercover tourist when we have the extra cash. maybe that would help! :goodvibes
