While plotting and planning our big trip this summer, my wife and I were scratching our heads and trying to figure out what was wrong with our dining itinerary.

Then we realized: all the parks have an early morning character breakfast -- MK even has two! -- EXCEPT for Disney-MGM Studios.

How did THAT happen? I seem to remember they DID have an early breakfast some years back. I can't believe it wasn't popular...what gives?

And, while I'm in full rant mode, wouldn't the studios be the PERFECT place for the much-rumored, long-wished-for character meal for boys? Think of it: Woody, Buzz, Sully, the Incredibles...maybe even a Muppet or two!

End of rant.

I agree completely! I've even written to Disney about it, but they returned my letter saying they don't take guests ideas. Well, I sure hope they change their minds one of these days. Woody, Buzz, the Incredibles? My son would FLIP!

Here's another wish-er hoping that some pixie dust falls on MGM with a boys character breakfast!

Yes, I agree, they need a boys character meal!! My son loves the Incredibles!!

MGM had a character meal at Hollywood & Vine, but it was a victim of the post-9/11 tourism slump. Maybe now that the parks are back to normal, Disney will see fit to add some characters back to the dining scene at MGM. A boy themed meal would be perfect!

i totally agree!!! my DS10 :earsboy: would love to see the incredibles, the toy story characters, flik, tarzan, hercules, etc. not to complain but everything seems to be princesses! princess:

Keep your fingers crossed ..WDW is havinga trial run of a boys character meal on mothers day weekend

oooooo thats awesome! do u know where? whats the chances they will have it the last weekend in may when im there?? :cool1:

i spoke witj a CM just a few moments ago and here is the scoop ..."mother's day weekend they will be having a mom's day brunch with the heroes. Scheduled to appear are Mickey, Alladin, Hercules, Peter Pan , and other heroes" There are no plans right now to extend it beyond that week end but with most things Disney that is "subject to change" I forgot to ask where the meal was being held . Hope this helps

The mothers day breakfast is being held at EPCOT..in a convention hall..I think it is the World Pavillion Hall....something like that
They had a large Millenium event/display there...

When my DS13 was 3 we went to the Alladin Character breakfast in MGM. We really enjoyed it. My favorite picture is when Jafar came to the table. My DS was a bit frightened. If I can find the pic, I will try to post it. It sure would be nice to have a character meal geared to boys that is not Mickey. I mean we love Mickey but we would like some variety in our character meals.

*****edited to add: I found the picture. Hope y'all don't mind me posting it. It just makes me hope they will bring in The Incredibles, Toy Story or even Lilo & Stitch. From what I remember this was a very busy breakfast and it was September.

...is that we are visiting WDW this summer with one very big boy -- my father-in-law -- and my wife would love to find a character meal that would keep him fed and happy :teeth: He loves TOY STORY. So, who knows? Let's think positive thoughts!

What a fabulous idea! We've often talked about that park just somehow missing "it." I think that your idea would be a great start in revitalizing MGM for kids!

I'm kind of ticked off at WDW about that actually. A while back I sent them a short, polite, and to the point e-mail (so as not to waste time for them) mentioning that the disboards had had a rather lengthy petition for those who would like to see a boy's character meal done, along with many posts about having Lilo and Stitch making regular character meal appearances.

They sent me back the singularly, rudest e-mail that I have EVER received. I plan on calling WDW to file a complaint about this actually, but they basically said, they appreciated the time I took to let them know of these ideas and preferences, but because they need to imagine things for themselves, they are unable to take suggestions from vacationers, and they are therefore, unable to even read my email in it's entirety (What?!!? 2 paragraphs of about 5 sentences were too long for them!?) and were going to delete it so they did not have to risk reading another person's idea.

HOW FLIPPING RUDE IS THAT!
I thought Disney CARED about what it's CUSTOMER'S thought. I understand if they don't take the idea's to heart, but to send something as RUDE as the e-mail they sent me was like a slap in the face, no response would have been better. What was worse was they tried to make the insulting reply eloquent and it was over 2 pages long!

Sorry to share this with everyone, but Disney's management is idiotic right now. So long as they are too arrogant to care about what it's PAYING clients like, it doesn't look like a boy's character meal, or a Lilo and Stitch one, will be around soon.

...from a castmember:

Disney can never ever EVER accept unsolicited ideas from outside the company. You never know when a lawsuit will come and bite them in the butt -- someone saying, "Hey, I had that idea YEARS ago." That's probably why they couldn't even finish reading the email, to even give the appearance that an outsider might have given them an idea.

But you'd think they could find a nicer way to tell you that.
