Something you never heard of until you read the DIS

I didn't know that I was committing the 8th Deadly Sin when I re-used old mugs from previous trips.(Or valet parking to go to the MK at Poly)

i know this will suprise most.......dolewhips.....i went 3 times and never new about them

I never knew blowing out the candles on a cake was considered unsanitary.

That people get their panies in a wad over someone wanting to relocate a biting dog to a new home away from their children. Seriously, I would think the kids come first...

I didn't know that eating McDonald's cheese made your pooh smell differently.

I didn't know that children were invited to weddings.

I never knew so many people would get their panties in a wad over what other people do.

A family cloth? I'm scarred for life, too!

Back in the day of outhouses, this was often done...however the step of taking it further and having a receptacle to put the cloth in was probably not done. Some people just couldn't afford to have fresh magazine pages at their disposal or find Sears catalogs.

My husband had a great uncle who collected outhouse buildings. Yes, he lived on a huge plot of land and collected these buildings when people would find thier on recetly sold land, etc. He had a few (NOT USEABLE) in his "backyard." Once during conversation he said that the pegs above the hole in the outhouse, held cloths to wipe with.

On that note, from the DIS, I learned that there is a hotel near DisneyLand, that asks people not to flush their toilet paper.

I didn't know I was the rudest person ever for reclining my (reclining) seat on an airplane. Now I know.
:rotfl2: Not to debate again, but it is BEYOND me how people get mad about this.

Come on one of my planes. I encourage EVERYONE to sit back and relax! :thumbsup2

I had never heard of snow tires or snow blowers.

I had never heard of heating oil.

I didn't know that most people pronounce the word "lawyer" as "loi-er". I say "law-yer".

I never realized that some parts of the country have such a large Catholic population. It's a smaller "denomination" in this part of the country.

I never knew that drinking excessively was so common at weddings in some parts of the country, or that some people won't go if there's no free alcohol.

I also never knew that sit-down meals were so common at wedding receptions in some parts of the country. Or that people give a shower gift AND wedding gift. I just thought the people who brought gifts to weddings missed or weren't invited to the shower.

There's a lot more. I might add more later.

I didn't know that in some regions people are expected to remove their shoes when visiting other people's houses, even on formal occasions. That really surprised me, because I've never seen this done IRL,

For me:

- I didn't know Jersey Girls don't pump their gas (was that a joke?).

No, its illegal! It is illegal in the entire state of New jersey, in Oregon, and in the township I live in on Long Island. The gas attendants don't let you pump your own gas, and they need to swipe a special card in the machine so you couldn't even do it if you tried to. I consider staying in my nice warm car when its 10 degrees out and having someone else pump it for me a nice perk. I also enjoy it when its 100 out and I can stay inside with the a/c blasting and have someone pump it for me.

Wonder why that's a law?

Wonder why that's a law?

I'm not sure to be honest with you. I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to find out though. I think I heard once that the state (NJ) did it in order to create more jobs for people, but i'm not sure if that's correct.

what is a diva cup?

Are you a man?

You're better off just googling it yourself. Make sure you do it with your eyes squinted or looking through your fingers. And it would be best to have an empty stomach.
