That you were just following one of your parents footsteps ?

My dad went into the Navy and so did his son

It happened as a second career for me, but I eventually became a teacher like they were. I wonder how common it is? Seems like I know a lot of people in the same business as one of their parents.

My mom and I work for the same company. Luckily we are in two different departments. I love her to pieces, but it would be so strange to work with her.

Both of my parents work/have worked in the same industry (arts and entertainment) that I work in. I grew up around theatre and art because of them and always knew I’d end up in this career field.

Not me but my dd. I was married in Florida and had my first dd at 26 in Florida. She just recently got married in Florida and had her first dd in Florida at 26. We thought it quite coincidental.

I've kept up family connections. Family was the most important value to both my parents. :grouphug:

For a time when illustration/designing commissions weren't exactly flowing in, my Mom got me a job in the office where she worked. That's the only thing that's the same; she was a customer service rep and I was a filer. It was a medical litigation, billing and copying service, so I filed subpoenas, sent doctors' offices bills and looked at lots of nasty and upsetting photos of injuries and autopsies that were requested for copying. I think I was there less than six months. Ugh.
