I was talking about you today, I was round at my friend J`s house this afternoon and when I went in she was watching highlights she had missed of Roland-Garros and you came to mind as I was sure you`d be catching it whenever you can

Good job there. The Mr insists we weigh & reweigh the checked luggage before we get to the airport

lol, yes, I don`t understand iced tea at the best of times as it`s not real tea,

I go thru a half gallon a day, do brew my own...using Lipton (the best for iced tea) lol

we managed to keep the eyes open till just before 9.30pm then we gave in and practically fell into bed.

No idea, had to be dead on your feet

Kyle especially used to hoot with laughter watching the ads for medicines with the scariest side effects ever!!!!

I never noticed until the Mr pointed it out once You cannot unsee it Now, I can't avoid watching & waiting for the shoe to drop on the potential side effects

It`s always nice getting dressed up for a proper night out and this is where I`m always glad I bring too many dresses!!! Plenty to choose from.

Indeed Even in MCO nice to switch up the park gear and have a nice, relaxing night out

So, no reservations are required to go explore the hotel or grab something to eat and drink leaving from from Epic Universe. It`s worth it as it is so close and very easy to do it if you want. We did check this with both the manager and the F&B manager too and it is correct.

I totally am watching Roland Garros! The Rafa tribute brought tears to my eyes. A friend of mine is there and then went to his Academy in Mallorca. I need to go! Anyway, she said she is bringing me back many souvenirs! So excited!

Getting through report -- Meant to also say that I'm proud of Kyle too! What an athlete!!!!

The check in area is quite compact but they get through a lot of people when it`s busy and everything just looks so new and fresh as you`d expect, they did a lot right with this hotel.

It’s so pretty behind the check-in area!

The design team had done a wonderful job with everything in the hotel we had seen so far, the Flora Taverna was eye catching, modern and very welcoming at the same time.

The bar there is gorgeous too. Looking forward to seeing it in real life but I suspect it’ll be a while

To be honest, MPC would work for us now as we don`t plan to go more than twice a year now, but we still have 3.5 years left on this GE and one of the officers advised us to keep getting it as most don`t give it up, so it`s not a huge amount of money and we get TSA Precheck with it too, so I think we`ll keep it.

That makes sense - Precheck would be nice

I’m a bit behind but will hopefully catch up at some point in the next few days.

I knew you would be!!! I haven`t seen the tribute but can imagine how emotional it would have been. He is such a gentleman and so well thought of in all circles. Oh hope you get something nice!!!

Thank you he is a superstar, I still don`t know where he got that running gene from, certainly not his dad or I!!! I was with him all of today, will fill you in on an email, and he had four large, yes large chocolate milks and complains he is 10lb overweight....there is nothing of him!!

But, will pass on the compliments, he had asked me a few months ago how my friend with the young Sheldon was doing!! I knew who he meant

I admit we loved everything about it.

It is beautiful, but you may get soner than you think, you`d love it, very classy!!!

Precheck is invaluable for us, so we`ll keep GE. We really got it the year we visited five times, but I do think it`s still worth it. But, keep the other thing to yourself to keep those lines down lol....

Happy to see you post, catch up when you can, I always appreciate the conversations with posters, it means a lot

Helios was beautiful, there are a million pics online, but nothing is nicer than seeing it for oneself, it is very impressive and so many little touches that keeps the overall theme in place.

Oh luggage is always a touchy issue it’s a good idea though to check and recheck to avoid those darn charges!

I do enjoy getting dressed up after being in park clothes during the day, makes it feel, well, nice.

I can’t see them offering anything other than hoofing it from your car to the park, I don’t think it’s big enough despite it being a fair old walk from the looks of it.

No, I’ve never used a yoghurt syrup either, but it was very nice!! We were so impressed with the drinks, all the ones we tried were beautiful! Including one hand crafted just for us, but that comes later…..not on the menu, just a little special drink

We loved being able to pop in and out of Helios for drinks and dinner too in the end, it was lovely to get refreshed in such a lovely and cool place.

I don't know how you two stayed awake that evening? That's a lot of visiting to do, although I know you were really looking forward to spending time with your friends who left RPR, and new ones too
I have to disagree with Janet on the tea. I only use Luzianne tea for making my iced tea, LOL. It really does taste good to us "non-brewing" tea makers. in the US.

I was amazed at the incredible detail in the hotel and what I could see of the parks. It looks like a magical place Always love your TR's. You have a way of making us feel like we are right in the action

I`m not sure where the rumour started you couldn`t go in from the park but you absolutely can, as others have said, they`re not going to turn down business. The bar in Flora Taverna was almost deserted that time of day, so any business is good business.

It`s habit staying awake now, we learned pretty quickly it was the best way to stay awake as long as possible, chatting to friends always helps

I`ll let you and Janet discuss tea in America lol.....I`ll keep quiet on that one lol

As I studied the menu and chatted to Demi, Tom popped out and took some pictures while it was still light, as you can imagine he took hundreds, but most look the same so I won`t post loads as there`s not much difference between them all.

Gorgeous photos! The lighting makes it all look so pretty.

This is the one area I doubt we`ll even try to visit no matter how many times we visit the park, apart from not interesting us, we did wander into the Mario store in Citywalk and my goodness that is one assault on every last sense and nerve you have in your body!!!!

Holy sensory overload!!!!

I think we will visit but yes, that’s what I’ve picked up from the YouTube videos so far - that it’s likely to be quite overwhelming.

We had of course studied the menu in great detail when we first saw it some months ago, we pretty much knew what we wanted to try first, so when Tom came back in he opted for the Prometheus which had Hennessy vs, Disaronno Amaretto, lemon juice, honey syrup and I chose the gorgeous Nectar of the Gods, a drink that just sounded like I`d love it and spoiler......I did!!!! Cruzan Single Barrel Rum, Grand Marnier, peach yogurt syrup, lime juice, cane syrup.

They both sound amazing!

But, Fernando sent out a dessert that he knew would appeal to us, Tropical Summer, oh my goodness this was sublime!!!! Vanilla bean crème, mango sorbet, passion fruit with an oat crumble that was more like a Graham Cracker base, heaven on a plate.

And that looks delicious!

I’m beginning to think about how I could make it happen….

No trip this year (we’re building a house which turns out to be really stressful and really expensive - who’d have thought ).
We’ve got five nights at WDW next April/May ahead of a transatlantic cruise and then we’re back again in February/March 2027 for a longer stay. We had planned to make that a joint WDW/Universal trip but then they announced the Volcano Bay refurbishment so now we’re not so sure...
Maybe we’ll get a Lyft over from WDW next April (we’ve done that before for Strongwater) but there’s so many other things we want to do in those few days too!
