Something to ponder while the system is down

Why is it I can plan an intricate, detailed, military-precision-like plan of exactly where we will be eating and at exactly what time for EACH meal for 7 consecutive days at six months from now in a city I don't live in BUT

Every day at home it's the same "What's for dinner... I don't know, what do YOU want?... I don't know..."

We actually struggled last night about where to go eat with the kids and it always leads to arguments and getting out of the house later than we expected...

Must be something about the "Happiest Place on Earth" thing...

You know? I never thought about that. It's the same way at my house. We can plan and intricate 7 day vacation complete with dining reservations, but when it's time to figure out where to eat at home, we drive around town for a half hour like we don't know what's there. It's almost comical. DH says "Where do you want to eat?" and my response is "I dunno. What is there?" It's not like I haven't lived in this town for a long time. Only my whole life! And it's a really small town. Seriously, there's not many options for dining. It's pretty much either McDonald's, mexican or Cracker Barrel.

After too many of those, my wife and I have a deal to never get in the car and just drive without knowing first where we are eating. We've done it too many times where we'll drive around town in circles and it ends up getting too late and we settle for someplace we're not even happy with!

But I'm looking forward to dinner at Whispering Canyon on August 19 at 6:40 p.m. 1,152 miles from here!

At home, we can never make up our minds about dinner. But I think we're tired of the same type of restaurants that we go to, so we're not quite as excited.

But I booked the ADRs for Disney 6mths in advance because we have our favourites and I want to make sure we can dine at these restaurants. However, I will admit that for our upcoming trip in a little over a week, I have changed some ADRs a few times - mostly because park hours change and we have to move some things around.
