Something that weighs on my mind: Will dragons see a repaint?

I've heard that the rethemed Dueling Dragons/Dragon Challenge is supposed to be based around a Chinease Fireball and a Hungarian Horntail, and I can't help but think that those two particular dragons don't lend themselves to the ride's current color scheme. The fireball could presumably pass for red, but the Horntail certainly couldn't pass for bright blue, being that it was mostly an orangey black in the movie.

That said, we have a trip booked from the 11th to the 22nd (Convieniantly wrapping around the grand opening) and I worry about a shutdown the week before the grand opening for a last minute repaint. I assume it will be up and running from the 18th onward at the very least, but I'd ideally want it to be open the whole trip. (Wouldn't we all, lol)

That said, I've been dying to find info about the ride's future color scheme, but there's very little coverage about it out on the net, since most writeups focus on the new stuff like Hogsmeade and Forbidden Journey.

Has there been any mention of a recolor on Dragons? Does the queue theming suggest an impending recolor, or is there still red and blue signage?

I know I'd personally hate to see them change color, since they've been red and blue as long as I've been going to Florida, but like I said, the fact that the movie horntail is black makes me fear a future change of paintjob falling smack in the middle of our trip, lol. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

But if I'm not... I know I've heard other people mention repaints for coasters (Hulk springs to mind) in past trip reports. How long do they typically take? When does Universal typically tend to do them?

Anyone have any insight on this at all? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Hehe...

The repaint/recolor idea was a wonderful rumor but will NOT be a reality.

Fire = Fireball = Red.
Ice = Horntail = Blue

I felt they should have gotten painted in new colors,if I look at them now I'm still thinking Dueling Dragons,if you're going to re-theme the ride change the colors.I loved how DD looked,the colors of the track the queue and the statues out front,but once they destroyed the statues I've wanted it to get a new paint color scheme.

I still think that eventually it will happen, but not fot quite a few years until the current paint starts looking as worn as the Hulks currently does, and they would have to re-paint it anyway.

Yeah I agree. It will always be Dueling Dragons to me but new paint colors would help complete the change over.

I always hoped they would change the colours to better reflect the dragons they now apply to. It's basically now just Dueling Dragons with a slightly different queue.
I'll miss seeing the dragon statues! Shame they couldn't incorporate them..
