My wife and I have almost completed the legal process so we can adopt these two wonderful little girls. 5 and 7. We are planning on taking them to Disneyworld to celebrate them joining our family. I am looking for ideas to truly make this a magical moment for them. We are making plans for the princess breakfast, Lunch with pooh and a dinner with Mickey....Thanks for any help!!!!!:earsgirl: :earsgirl:

How exciting! I am very happy for your soon to be growing family! My girls were that age on our first trip as a family. Some of the highlights were Fantasmic!, riding Pooh, swimming at resort pool, character dining, and the Ft. Wilderness campground activities. We love our family pictures taken upon entering each park. I am sure some folks here will have specific ideas for you...but I think giving these two lucky and blessed little girls a life full of love is the best way to celebrate your family. Congratulations!

Pam

How about ordering a suprise basket from the Disney florist to be delivered to your room?

also, make sure they note this on your reservations, you may get nothing but at the very least you'll probably get a lot of congratulations from cast members, which is pretty special in itself!

Congratulations to all of you, what a wonderful way to grow a family!

How fun! What about doing the Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian? It's a little gir's dream come true - a real, live tea party! They even have special chocolate milk "tea" for the little ones. We have been a few times and we always see lots of little girls there having the best time! (This isn't the kid's only tea party, just the regular afternoon tea.) There are pretty flowers, beautiful dishes, etc. It's a really special experience!

This is wonderful news, congratulations. I can't think of a better way to start your new life than a trip to the magic. Character meals are a great idea and if you let the CM know what you are celebrating when you make the PS arrangement, I'm sure they will make a fuss of you.
Trying to think of good ideas but its hard. Princess breakfast is the most obvious which you already thought of. How about the Family Magic Tour in the MK? You get to tour the park in treasure hunt style hopping and jumping along the way. You also get a special character meet and greet at the end. Very exclusive!
How about a Wishes or Illuminations cruise? Just you and your girls on a private boat watching the fireworks? Again very special.

Lastly, just include the girls in the planning. Let them choose their first ride of the day, a restaurant they really want or do an autograph hunt for their favourite character.
If I think of any more, I'll keep them coming. Congratulations once again and keep us posted.
Much pixie dust,
Claire

NO advice ... but CONGRATULATIONS! We have just adopted our ds. Our final court date was two weeks ago today! :) The girls (and you too) will have a most magical vacation at wdw! :)

First of all, Congratulations! Have you thought about purchasing a legacy tile at Epcot? I don't know the details about getting on as I've never done it, but I would think it would be a great way to celebrate! Then when they are older they could go back and look at the tile.

On our upcoming trip to Disney, it will just be DH, myself, and our youngest DD (oldest two can't make it - college).

Anyway, Tinkerbell will bring a surprise every morning for when Allison wakes up!!! (I'm going to pack some Disney party bags and tissue in my suitcase, and after she's asleep, I'll put the surprise out!! I even bought some shiny confetti to sprinkle around the gift!!)

I got her a Guest Of Honor badge, some pins for trading, Disney dollars, and a Mickey Mouse that sings a Christmas tune!! Can't wait to see her face when she finds her surprises every morning!

Congratulations - and have a great trip!!!

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS! :thewave:
We are also an adoptive family, and know what a blessing it is to grow your family through adoption! :)

At your girls' ages I would involve them in the planning of your special family celebration, they might come up with some great ideas of their own. I love the idea of a fireworks cruise, and the legacy tile is a great idea too - you can only do two people per tile, so maybe mom and one daughter and dad and the other daughter then when they are displayed your whole famly will be housed within two tiles....just a thought (since we've tried to figure out the logistics of our family on the tiles, which is DH, DS, and me).

Have a wonderful time, and congrats again!

Congrats!!! A legacy tile would be an AWESOME idea. I adopted my older daughter at age 3 almost 10 years ago. We will be finalizing on my now 8 month old in February.......ten years and one day from my older daughter's adoption. (Yes, quite an age gap.......you know how it is in adoption........hard to predict why and when certain opportunies come along!!!) Will probably take a short trip to Disneyland to celebrate, although the baby will just be a year old then..... ~Jennifer (crazy single mom!!)

Congrats!!! How wonderfull for you all. I think the tea party is a great idea. Bringing along dress up cloths for the breakfast is great also. I think the best will be the time you get to spend together. Sharing the time with each other is priceless. Have a magical time.

How about a portfolio of pictures taken around WDW by the resident photographer? will be a priceless memento in years to come. There is a thread on the boards somewhere with the adress if you do a search it should come up.
Discovery cove and swimming with dolphins is also an idea, although the 5yr old may be too young and it is expensive.
Breakfast with the princesses in Epcot is another idea.
We loved the firework cruise from the boardwalk to watch the Epcot fireworks it was magical
Also do not miss Fantasmic at MGM, truly spectacular, you get reserved seating by having a dinner at one of three places in the parks, which means you do not need to get there so early. It is the same price as a normal dinner with no extra for the reserved seating but you need to ask for the fantasmic dinner package when you reserve your table.
Congratulations and good luck all the way from the UK!!!!!!
