Something special for my kids

Hi everyone,

After planning our Disney trip for nearly a year, we had to return home 12 hours after arriving in Orlando due to my mother's unexpected passing. My girls (ages 6 and 7) have struggled with the loss of their grandma as well as the adventure they've anticipated for nearly 1/5 of their lives, and I'm determined to make our return trip something special.

We have new reservations for Crystal Palace, Coral Reef, Hoop-de-doo Review, lunch at CRT, Cape May seafood buffet, and breakfast at Boma. We've also decided to splurge with a day at Discovery Cove (minus the dolphin swim) and a day at Seaworld.

The girls don't know that we're headed back to Disney in July, and I want to surprise them with an invitation in the "mail" on the morning we plan to leave.

Can anyone assist with invitations to Disney and/or the rest of our reservations? My girls' names are Aimee and Morgan.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My Grandma means the world to me and I can't imagine what you and your girls have gone through.

I wanted to get some further details from you regarding the Parks invitation. Are there any characters they especially want to see? Are they still into princesses or are they into other characters like Tink? What are some of their favorite colors? What about attractions they want to go on?

Thanks so much for your reply! Neither of the girls really know what to expect, as this will be their first trip to Disney. Morgan is still into Tink and the princesses, and she was most excited about the character meal in the castle. She's very artsy and creative, so she likes anything bright.

Aimee is really into science and animals, which is why we're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. She is most excited about visiting Epcot, since she wants to be a scientist when she grows up. She is DYING to find out what's inside Spaceship Earth. Her favorite Disney character is Nemo.

I was also EXTREMELY close to my grandmother. In fact I now own the home that she and my grandfather had built many many years ago. And when I was 14 we took a trip to Italy, Spain, Scotland and England.....sailing home on the original HMS Queen Elizabeth!

These are wonderful - The girls will be so excited to have a personalized note!

That is an amazing experience you shared with your grandmother - my girls were very close to my mom, and it breaks my heart that they won't have the benefit of her unconditional love and ready smile in the years to come. This experience has truly taught me to take nothing for granted, which is one of the reasons we're going all out on our July trip.

Thank you so much! Alice, you really captured the personalities of both girls.

These are all wonderful - I think I'm going to use one set to surprise the girls on the morning we leave, and the other set as a welcome once we get to the resort!

One question - Amy, I noticed in your files that you have "Surprise - We're going to Disney" invites. Would it be too much trouble to ask you to create one of those to go along with the personalized letters you made? I loved how you put the kids' names in the ears with the month/year at the bottom (ours would be July 2011).

I also love the invites you have to the various restaurants - is it possible to have some of these made for us if I give you the dates/times? I could also make the request on your thread if that's what you prefer.
