I was watching the auditions for "So You Think You Can Dance Canada" and there was a wonderful young man who tried out. The best way to describe his style would be a Britney Spears/ Madonna backup dancer style. He wasn't the BEST dancer I've ever seen on one of those shows, but I thought he wasn't half bad!

The judges, however, said several things along the lines of that his dancing wasn't "masculine" enough and that he should work on not "looking so feminine". It ticked me off because he looked NO DIFFERENT than any of Britney or Madonna's or WHOEVER'S dancers...I bet the jusges wouldn't have said something like that to a guy who danced the same way who happened to be straight.

*sigh*...vent over. This guy did make it to the finals in Toronto, though...I am SOOO voting for him if the opportunity presents!

Perhaps because my Grandfather was Canadian, I expect much more from Canadians? I don't know.

But that type of attitude coming from Canada/Canadians surprises me.

Yeah, that's what I get for stereotyping, even positive stereotypes, eh?
