something new coming out??

I just went to the Reservation site and it is down right for maintenance. I was going to run some numbers...so I am curious...any new deals coming out or is it just plain ol' maintenance????: Not trying to get hopes up here...but since you guys always know what is going on before castmembers do..thought I would check.

I booked my trip originally on Tuesday, and my TA said they were updating the system at Disney and that is why it took until yesterday to get my confirmation. She stated Disney is doing a lot of specials due to the very low number of reservations being made. Disney raising prices during such times has made a big dent in stays. I don't know what it is but I booked 5 nights in mid march at a Value with the Quick Service dining with a 30% pin code and this trip is over $100 more total than last Nov. staying at a Mod. for 5 nights with the regular dining plan. I guess the difference is the room price for the different time periods. Disney is getting very expensive.

My TA told me that there have not been a lot of takers for the 4/3 deal. She said that they might do something different for the spring.

I didn't think that I saved a lot with the 4/3 deal. I went last year, stayed at a mod and paid a little less. This included the gift card.

So we will see.

Maybe they have a backup (and better) promotion plan in case 4/3 didn't bring in the guests and that's why they released the 4/3 so early this year.......or maybe its just wishful thinking on my part! LOL! The promotion did not do much for us this year at all. If we weren't going already in Feb 2010, we wouldn't have booked and in fact for as much as we love our disney trips we may take a year off after this unless it is a really good deal or do a cheap room only trip - maybe offsite and cut out the dining plan as we have some tickets stockpiled.

It seems that a lot of people would plan on going to disney one time or once every couple years and would not consider doing it every year or multiple times a year. I just wonder how many of those people got sucked into a 2009 disney trip with the better 4/3 deal and free dining and as such would not even be considering coming back in 2010. I bring it up because we have several friends that fall into this category and most of them are doing a beach trip next year instead of a repeat disney trip 2 years in a row.

The Dining plans went up $10 per person per night for adults for next year, but, I did get rates for Jan. at a mod that were higher than off season this year was.

I think the dining plan only went up a lot during peak travel times. During our 2010 travel dates, it only went up a few dollars from last year.

I've been hoping the exact same thing...I'm hoping for free dining in January/February. If we hadn't already had our trip planned, we would not be going either. The 5/2 did not do much for us.

Just got off the phone with Disney Travel. The computer system is back up and running. I asked about any new specials and I am sorry to report that there is nothing new out yet.
