Something learned from MS today

To be honest, I'm not sure if the "for sure" dates were still available... but they're a two bedroom at VAK. The "iffy" Christmas dates are not very likely to be available still - is a 1 bedroom at VWL. I didn't want to do any re-allocation unless I knew I wouldn't lose either of the reservations, so I asked if I would have to cancel and re-book.

This is what MS said:

"I have submitted a Manual Adjustment to reallocate the Vacation Points
as you have requested. It will take approximately 24 hours to process.
Once completed, should you decide to cancel that reservation you will
have at least 199 vacation points that you may be able to bank if you
have no additional travel plans. You will still have some banked 22
banked vacation points but, at least you will have a good amount that
are bankable.

I did this all via email...

Correct me, if I am not understanding...but when I have had two existing reservations at the same resort, and had to cancel one in the past, MS reallocated my banked points to make sure that the reservation left did use my banked points first. These were for the same resort.

Once, I had booked BCV at 11 months out, but at 7 months out, the room was still available, so I rebooked with BW points.

It seems to me the banking is just like the borrowing. If you are in a 2006 use year and make a reservation for 2007, you are allowed to borrow out of a 2008 use year (while still in 2006 use year.) Am I not understanding?
