Something going on in Atlanta last weekend Sept?

Our trip is Sept 25 - 29th and I've noticed when I've been checking out hotels around Atlanta for our overnight stay back home that the prices have really gone up from the previous weekend and there are some hotels booked all ready. Is something going on in Atlanta the weekend of Sept. 29-Oct.1?

There's a home show in Atlanta that weekend (Sept. 28-Oct. 1). I don't know how many people it draws, but I'm sure it takes up a few hotel rooms.

That won't really affect Atlanta hotels though, since the Dogs are in Athens, and there are bunches of hotels up that way. My guess is if the Home Show is there that weekend that is why they are higher, the Home Show tends to attract a lot of people, and make traffic fairly nasty in the area.

Oh lovely, just what we wanted...more traffic. I hope we can get past Atlanta then and find a hotel farther up north. Thanks for the info!
