Other than disneyflorist.com, can you ask the front desk if there is anything they can have in the room upon arrival that is christmasy or chocolates or anything? I want my DH to have something special when we arrive. I did get him the pirate basket for a gift to be delivered from disneyflorist. But i want something when we first arrive !

Thanks!

They won't put it in your room until you are checked in. Until you are checked in that room could be assigned to someone else.

Disney Florist is the only one that can put sweets in the basket.

My son will be celebrating his 7th birthday while we are in Disney, so I called the disneyflorist.com and I am having a talking Mickey and a autograph book basket made and they are also putting some extras in it, like chocolates and such. I am not sure if it will be in our room or given to my son when we arrive, but I wanted him to have it the day we arrive so he can use it in the parks first thing. Can't wait to see what it will look like!

I noticed in your signature that you have the GF listed as your 2007 resort. Is that for this trip? If so, you do have other options besides the Disney Florist. Call the private dining department or GF bakery directly at 407-824-2578 or 407-824-2474. Typically, you want to call 48 - 96 hours prior to your arrival. They have a list of items that you can choose from, including Cinderellas slipper all in chocolate, a white chocolate Tinkerbelle with gold wings, chocolate Mickey surrounded by tuxedo strawberries, etc. As with the gift basket though, the items will probably not be in your room until you actual get checked in. I don't know how the magic behind the scenes works, but private dining will somehow "know" that you're there and deliver the goodies to your room.

We got mouse ears for each kid with their name on them. (Just be sure to discreetly ask at check in that they run the items ahead of you into your room, to avoid disappointment!)

The kids loved the little surprise that "Mickey" left, welcoming them to his hometown!

Hi Tammi, yes, it is for this December as well. While we were there in February for my birthday, I did get a white chocolate Minnie with cookies. It was in our room when we arrived from the park. I will call the numbers you gave me, those are really good ideas. I just want to get my DH something special for Christmas. As I think about it, it doesnt have to right when we check in, so any time delivery will be good.

Do you know if the bakery does anything "christmas-y"?

Thanks so much for your help.

there is a website that many people use and that is www.memoriesbysarah.com. She will work w/ you until you get exactly what you want.. being that it is during the holidays you can get a christmas ornament w/ you & your husbands name w/ the year... :goodvibes

They always seem to have a long list of available items when I've called, so I have to imagine that they do seasonal treats as well. They do amazing work, so even if you had something special in mind, they can probably work with you to make it happen. I'd just give them at least 48 hours notice for anything out of the ordinary.

We used memoriesbysarah.com for our trip this past Feb. We stayed at WL and the gift baskets were already in our room prior to check-in. I don't know if they were able to deliver to the room prior to our arrival due to being value season and not as busy or if WL tries to assign rooms when there is a basket to be delivered. Sarah did make the comment that WL was good to work with, she didn't comment about other resorts.

Were you staying conceirge at WL? or did you check in but was told your room wasn't ready and to return later? I ask this because generally although there are rooms assigned 1-2 days ahead of time, this is subject to change at check in. You could be unhappy with the location, have a specific request, room isn't ready etc. If the basket was delivered to your room prior to checking in then WL was taking a big risk in doing so. It may have turned out to not be your room and if the people didn't turn it back in you may have been out of a gift basket or had to wait while another was being made up and delivered.

WL is easy to work with, as the majority of the resorts are, but having a delivery being made has nothing to do with room assignments, the season or who delivered it

No I was not in conceirge. At check-in I proceeded and got all the paperwork done, got the room key, and sent my DH and both DS to the elevator. I then asked about the baskets that were suppose to be delivered, she said they were already in the room. Sure enough they were there. I can see where it might be a problem as for as if you don't like your room location etc., but the look on my youngest face when he opened the door saw that "Mickey" sent him all these gifts was priceless.

1) The good
. . . you hit a slower period.
. . . in such times, sometimes the rooms are pre-assigned.
. . . if the Front Desk Runner is available, they might be able to deliver.
2) Now, the bad.
. . . the WL is not allowed to do this any longer.
. . . too many times the rooms are not available to the assigned person
. . . there were some major goofs last year and some peeved guests
. . . in one case, a gift basket was delivered
. . . the people re-assigned ate almost all the food and took the Plushes
. . . the people expecting the basket NEVER saw any of the items
