Something different to do at DW?

We are planning our 4th trip to Disney World. The last 3 times we have gone in October because that is when we have a school break. We have always done the MNSSH.This year we thought about going after Christmas. We have never seen the lights and we thought it would be cooler. I heard it was really crowded though. We are not sure which time would be best. Any suggestions? Also, I wanted to come up with some different things that we haven't done before.

We have gone before Chirstmas (early Dec) but never after. Yes, it will be VERY crowded but also cooler than OCt.and you can do the Christmas activities. We love to resort hop and check out all the decorations. MVMCP is over my then but I think the parade goes on and it is very nice. There are decorations at all the parks as well.

We do not do crowds well so my pick would however be to stick to Oct.

The parks are a lot less crowded in October because most children are back in school by then. However, Christmas time at Disney is absolutely beautiful but since you are considering going after Christmas, I would suggest going in October.

As far as different things to do, I would suggest a character dinner for one night. If you have little girls, the bibbety bobbety boutique is adorable, and dinner on the fulton's crab house boat is lovely.

Also, if you do not mind the extra cost, check out cirque de soleil la nouba... it is amazing.

If you can go right after New Year's it is not really crowded and the lights are up until the Sunday after New Year's (as you can see, some years they could be up an extra week or only a few days after New Years).

My favorite thing that we have ever done was a fireworks cruise. We got to watch the fireworks from the Lagoon and it was beautiful. We were allowed to bring snacks and drinks as well.
