I am looking for a good copy of zip-a-dee-doo-da for my wedding recessional something more upbeat than "song of the south" Please help!!! Any suggestions? Or does anyone have a better Idea for a recessional song? What are you using?

hmm don't know where to get a different version than that. We used the Fantasmic Finale music.

Great idea!!! Not sure where you can find it... did you try googling it? Or Amazon.com... I wanted the theme from Carousel of Progress but my DF nixed it. :rotfl: :lmao: However, I'm still trying to find a way to stick it in there... :thumbsup2 Perhaps when the bridal party is announced... I will find a way... lol.... :rotfl:

Maybe you can hire a musician, or a friend to play it for you the way you want it on the guitar, or the piano. Record it, and play it at your wedding. :teeth: Or try going on itunes and see what different versions of the song you can find. :teeth:

There is a series of CDs that has Disney songs recorded in different musical styles & some of them have Zip A Dee Doo Da on them - try looking for Heigh Ho Banjo Bluegrass and Ragtime at Magical Kingdoms - I got them through Amazon.com. You can also listen to samples of the songs on there. Some of the other cds are Heigh Ho Mozart, Bibbidi Bobbidi Bach & Beauty & the Beat (steel drums). HTH :wizard:

My DH and I had Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah as our recessional!!! It made everyone laugh, which was exactly what we wanted... just a happy event!

We used iTunes... search "zip-a-dee-doo-dah"... the artist we used was Johnny Mercer... it was exactly what we wanted, however, there are also BUNCHES of other arrangements (some are listed as zip a dee doo dah [w/o dashes]).

I hope this helps! We did all our music ourselves, so iTunes was our friend! We liked not having to buy the entire cd if we only wanted 1 song.

They have lots of other Disney stuff too... we also liked Steve Tyrell's album, Michael Crawford's album, and Dave Brubeck's album... all different Disney stuff you can get on iTunes.

We also really enjoyed Jim Brickman's "The Disney Songbook", but I just looked and it's not on iTunes anymore, but Amazon sells it!

I hope this helps!!!

Best wishes!

slightly OT here but this so reminded me of a wedding I went to many years ago for someone I worked with. It was a traditional English church wedding and they had an old traditional hymn called 'Fight the Good Fight' (with all of your might) were they just being trad or maybe pesimistic??? mmmmm.... wonder if they are still together?!

Future MrsCWe are going to use the Johnny Mercer version, but where did you start the song? At the begining the First Zip or somewhere else?

We started it at the beginning with the "Hi How are you..." part. Everyone was laughing and we were waiting for our photographer to get to our balloon boxes (we wanted lots of pictures of us w/ our balloon release). We did a lot of photo-op kisses while we were waiting for the first "Zip..." and we let it play for our entire recessional. You could start it at the Zip, but that's more thinking... our guests really enjoyed it. :goodvibes

:wizard: Best wishes! :wizard:

I used the Main Street Electrical Parade music. I love that music!!

We used "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."
