Why would they close DQ? Isn't that place always packed? I've never been myself but had always heard it was a nightmare to get in to.

Yeah, but I keep hearing the rumors and had heard this summer as well. The one in Chicago (we used to go all the time) was PACKED every time we went, but they still closed it down. But you're right - DQ was a mob scene each time we tried it this summer!

As far as Mac's quote - not only should they give more than a few months notice if they're closing it so people can go back, but also for people who are buying the "water parks and more" option, assuming that they'll be visiting there. I think my friend might be less apt to buy them if that's not included - especially if there's no replacement for it for the same price!

so, is everyone waiting for the new storm that will be coming thru?

Love the smileys Mac, but I think this storm is missing us! :thumbsup2 I need a "chipping away at ice" smiley since we still have about 1/4 of our driveway covered in it. I did another round of chipping and throwing salt this morning!

What is up with the boards lately? Remind my surly self that I must not post on the reg Universal boards until my mood improves ... does no one do searches anymore? I get so sick of answering the same questions over and over, and it makes it worse when no one bothers to even look beyond the same page before posting a same or similar question. Yes, see ... aren't you GLAD I haven't been posting lately?

Does it work for you? I always used to be able to do searches and everyone would be whining it didn't work. But now that they have the "new, improved" boards, I haven't been able to search at all.

NO I AM NOT GLAD YOU HAVEN'T BEEN POSTING!:snooty:

Ditto! :)

I would've been banned for something like, "Really? We're answering this again? There are 6 posts on a similar topic on the first page of the boards alone and you were itching to post #7. Really? Just sad that the Beanie Baby craze is over and looking for something else trite and hackneyed to join in on?"

Trust me. My mood is FOUL. And it's been foul for the past few weeks. Be glad you were spared the WRATH of JODIE! :rotfl:

Well, then just hang out with us here on this thread! Of course you can still say "Isn't this the 10,000th time Marcie's whined about the snow?"! But you can always ignore me! :snooty:

Off to work!

Yes, check their website. They did it within the last month or so. Maybe early January? They are a little high right now. Probably gas prices in those big SUVs getting to them? :scratchin

I saw that too....but its still the best co IMHO :thumbsup2

Dear Alex and Savvy
Please tell your Momma it is okay to vent here. Post anything you want. We do not judge. If she wants to yell and scream and rant and rave, and THEN throw a fit and fall into it, it is okay to do so here. We care about you Jodie. Please tell us what is on your mind.
Love,
SAN Threaders:grouphug:

Thank you, Penny. You are so sweet.

Really, it's just work stuff that would bore you to tears. Esoteric crap that I couldn't bear to bog everyone down with.

Marcie, complain away about the snow! We've been pretty luck this year. Friday was bad, but at least I didn't have to trek to work in it!

One of the nurses just called from Scottish Rite to remind me about Joshua's appointment tomorrow morning.

AS IF I COULD FORGET!

Hope everything goes well at the appointment tomorrow. Let us know how it goes. Is this the sedation scan for Joshua?

Yeah. This is the MRI under sedation. I don't think he could last 45 mins in the coffin with the airplane noise without moving, so I approved the anesthesia. Of course, this means no food or drink until after the test.

There will be much whining until lunchtime tomorrow.

Tricia,

Hugs and good luck to Joshua tomorrow.

Kaitlyn went under anesthesia twice in her early years and did fine. At 3 or 3.5 for ear tubes (that was a quickie) and at 5 for surgical repair of her thumb (that was a 1.5-2 hour thing) She was born with her thumbs kinda hooked inward (left is still at a 60 degree angle and the right was REALLY bad a 45 degree angle) towards her hand. I forget what it was called, but THAT was a really long summer in 2 casts (her thumb had pins in them too) :scared:

anyway - sorry about the digression - I really hope all goes well and be sure to let the little guy know we are thinking about him :grouphug: :grouphug:

Ha Ha Fletch - DS was non too happy either.

Same here alot of yelling and screaming last night when youngest DS found out simpsons wasn't on due to all the delays in the race last night and just couldn't make him understand and kept telling him dad doesn't run the network:lmao: :lmao:

I actually liked Disney Quest. I think I was in the minority though? I nearly peed my pants playing Pirates of the Caribbean. Thought that was almost worth the price of admission alone!

We went once on a Disney trip several years ago - DS was 4. DH and I are video gamers - grew up with the Atari. We LOVED it. We went on a weekday (when it was sunny) and had a blast - no huge wait times like you read about.

:)

For those who asked......No, our DS doesn't get an allowance. My parents didn't give us allowance. My DH did get allowance & spent it on things he shouldn't have. :sad2: (I realize that depends on the child.) Anyway, I guess it's a passed down thing. We'd rather him have to answer for the money he spends. If we don't agree w/ what he wants to spend it on, no moola for him. I know that doesn't work for everyone, but it has for us so far.

Okay, I am NEVER happy when the smileys do the shuffle thing, but this latest scramble has to be the WORST!

The clown guy? Who uses him? When? Why?

Or the painter? Or the scooter? Or the smoking guy?

There are at least 6 or 7 up there now that I have never had a reason to use.

Sorry, I'm just grumpy 'cause the race is in rain delay and it has thrown my whole afternoon plans off.

I hear ya! I've wondered the same thing. Along with those you mentioned, I don't really get the beach smilie being front page either. I can't see it being that popular on a WDW/UO website, but what do I know? :confused3 The firefighter & cop make me wonder too. :scratchin I see :rolleyes1 used all the time, but it apparently got demoted. Oh yeah, there's a :groom: on the main page, but no :bride:. Okay, I'll move on now.....

ma keeps crank calling me:upsidedow , flying high...told her not to call back & she hung up on me lol

:rotfl2:

Actually....we do have some extra money we haven't spent yet :rolleyes1 ...but, it's only beginning... Is he using his allowance? YOU aren't dating her! :rotfl: And, be grateful for a boy...my MIL had 2 girls then 2 boys. (DH is oldest boy/3rd kid)...she always told me she'd rather have 10 BOYS than 1 girl! :rotfl:

How'd ya manage that? Do tell! I want some extra money. :p

click on it and then click on "save picture as" and then upload it from your computer to your photobucket (or whatever you use) Link if ya wanna... ;)

I'm sure you'll be shocked to read that I don't have a photobucket or similar account. ;) I'll work on setting that up today.

local news today said there will be a massive wheat shortage this summer, the big bakeries have their stash in hand, so bread shouldn't go up too much...however, the price of a pizza is expected to quadruple:faint: $50 for a pizza:crazy2: . Supposed to be just during this season...1st i gave up smoking, then drinking (sorta;) ), it's going to be hard to tell pizza so long.

 Better get our fill of pizzas now.

ETA: Jodie, your kitty pics are great!

Yeah, it's much more enjoyable under those conditions. We found out unfortunately that in the summer every day care group in a 60 mile radius dumps their kids here (I mean of course "takes them on an educational experience")! :rotfl: And sorry, but the groups we saw had nothing on the Brazilian Tour Groups in terms of obnoxious behavior - especially the adults, who saw no problem in one adult standing in line for 45 minutes for Pirates of the Caribbean and then having 20 kids or so duck under the ropes and cut ahead of everyone when it got close to their turn! :confused3

We got there before opening twice and there were still probably already a couple hundred kids in there - they must allow groups in a bit early or something to get settled in. First day when it was a rainy day, the place was at capacity and they'd only let people in as others left. Second time though it was a sunny nice day, and nearly as crowded just due to the groups. I really think a Sunday would be better in the summer - at least it would be just tourists! I have a pic somewhere from our trip showing the "leader board" with wait times for most of the big "rides" at 70 minutes!

But we really enjoyed it when we went in early December of 2000 and the times we went to the one in Chicago when it wasn't packed!

Is it me or does anyone else hate mondays,
I guess the only mondays I like is when we are on vacation:lmao: :lmao:

Well, I tried catching up on posting, but I really don't feel like it today. :guilty: I'm afraid I've herniated another disc. I'm going to dbl. up on my pain pills & see if I can't get as high as Janet's mom. I hate going to the dr. I feel like I live there as it is. :sad2: If I continue to get worse, I'll have to soon. :( If you all get a chance, please say a prayer for me. I could really use it.

just an fyi

you know I just had to go and research the condition kait had surgery for :upsidedow .....its called Clinodactyly

http://www.childrenshospital.org/az/Site1160/mainpageS1160P0.html

her right hand was repaired, the left was not. she is right handed and it was the worst of the two sooooooooo

ok - off to the dryer

At least she had it taken care of young so she doesn't have to deal with it later in life, right? Kids are never simple. They should put that on a warning label somewhere. I'm not sure where. Condoms, maybe? WARNING: KIDS ARE NEVER SIMPLE Scare the crap out of those who are on the fence.

Makes sense. I never had an allowance either. I didn't have my own money until I got a job.

Back problems are terrible. I'd give you a hug, but you probably don't want one of those right now. Positive thoughts and prayers are headed your way! :thumbsup2

Well at least the race is finally over and congrats to whoever has carl edwards:thumbsup2
