As for the grades on the computer. So far, DS teachers are only posting grades after assignments. So this doesn't help us stay on top of what's coming up. Of course, when you are 13(almost) they expect you to take care of yourself.

Hope to check back to read Barb's story. (Barb - you have kept us waiting long enough.)popcorn::

When you are 13, that 'responsible, maturity' thing is supposed to kick in :rolleyes1

I'm sorry I didn't get my story up tonite....it really is a bit involved. However, I have an appt. to get my oil changed tomorrow morning, so I will charge my battery on my laptop and start typing it up while I'm waiting :thumbsup2

but will let you know in May........or where the heck is Todd???? What do you have to do???? screamish like ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh or say OhNO?!?! (right now I am confuzed)

Now pay attention: :teacher: In the Shrek preshow, when the TM says "flogged/flogging" you reply "oh no!" ;)

I think this calls for an emergency trip to the motherland. I'll volunteer! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Uh....I don't think you're going anywhere without us missy :snooty:

Okay, so do we have ANY other Catholics on the thread?

Raised Catholic and grades 1-4 of catholic skool...till I growed up and realized better ;) ....not practicing anymore.

Just a quick fly by because I got home at 10:30 and am pooped!

Don't forget your paper :rolleyes1

Evening gang!:)

Mac - I will take the morning shift for Fletch. Don't worry, Marcie, I'll get those boys up.;)

We have had good weather here also. Temps in 60s as well. The temps are starting to drop and it is very windy now. Should have some snow tomorrow. I don't think we will have the snow some of you have (Mac, Marcie, Sharon, etc.)

Metro - CONGRATS on 7,000.:cool1: :cool1:

Hope to check back to read Barb's story. (Barb - you have kept us waiting long enough.)popcorn::

we don't want marcie's kid missing the bus in the morning.

oh crud.... its 1015 est......I am about 4 beers in the hole

and try black cherry rum and cherry coke zero - it'll nail you quickly :lmao:

cherry coke zero rules......

Okay, so do we have ANY other Catholics on the thread? Not trying to get into religion here, just looking for someone to whine with about the fact that I'm starving to death! And I got pizza for dinner, figuring it was an easy non-meat meal (first year I've had TWO kids old enough to not be allowed to eat meat) and being completely brain-dead, ordered it with pepperoni! :rotfl: Brought it home, looked at it and figured it out. We all piled our pepperonis on DS12's pizza slices!

Then we had to go to mass this evening for Ash Wednesday. I was amazed at how packed it was - almost as bad as Christmas or something! Got there 10 minutes before mass and got one of the last couple parking spaces. DS12 had to leave 55 minutes into it for soccer - I was hoping it would be over by then, but that was optimistic thinking. So he and I snuck out, drove him to soccer (changed in the car on the way), came back, and was still in time to join the other two boys for communion! So it's been a busy day!

I'm just commenting here, even though it won't be relevant to Tracie's concerns, because I just find it interesting how different it was with us. Matt as I mentioned fought this most of elementary school. But it seemed like middle school was the "cure-all". Having classes for only 45 minutes and getting to move around and be in different settings with different teachers really helped him. And teachers seemed to be able to handle him much better in small doses as well. Because he was so bright, and outgoing, and so many kids at that age are so withdrawn and uninterested, they really seemed to like him offering comments and participating, even if it was a bit active or loud. Suddenly the "he needs to sit down and shut up" became "it's so fascinating to have him in class - he seems so interested"!

Okay - non-Catholic! Or is alcohol okay? I'm sitting here drinking water - woo hoo! And wanting my wine and cheese! I guess maybe I could have wine, but I don't like wine without cheese. :snooty: Are you all feeling sorry for me yet?!

Another non-Catholic! And somehow we missed the snow this go round! Mac/Rose - how much did you guys end up with? Can't believe DH made it to Detroit this morning and down to Columbus (Ohio) this evening without any problems!

Non-Catholic! (I'm just kidding here - so no one get offended - please! I just keep reading all these food things and that's what catches my attention!)

Penny - I'm going to let my laptop fight it out with your snowblower since I think mine hates me as much as yours does. Although now at work my paper shredder has started growling at me - literally! You know the noise the shredder makes when you put paper in? Well, it just does it out of the blue randomly! I've cleaned all the teeth out a couple times and still, I'll be sitting there, typing on the computer and "grrr"!

:dance3: for you! for me! I want to go somewhere warm! My mom is going to WDW next week with my brother and on a cruise the following month. I'm feeling really bummed out just talking to her!

Woo hoo! :cool1: I'd like to thank the academy...

I went through this last year when I had to go to the HS to get oldest DS' phone from the dean of students. I was at my youngest son's school first (I volunteered there) and happened to mention to his teacher that I was heading there next, since it was her husband. She asked "oh, do you have a scheduling problem or something?" and I'm like "no, I have to go pick up my son's cell phone"! :rolleyes1 She just looked surprised because of course DS12 was one of her "perfect" students and said something like "oh, that's usually what it is but I was giving you the benefit of the doubt!"

i copied most of your quote. thought it best to change the ending, don't you?

I'm sorry I didn't get my story up tonite....it really is a bit involved. However, I have an appt. to get my oil changed tomorrow morning, so I will charge my battery on my laptop and start typing it up while I'm waiting :thumbsup2

sounds like a plan.

waiting for tomorrow.....

Nope Marcie - not Catholic. We had smoked pork chops for dinner.

and? ....how'd it go? :confused3

It went very long. We are in the process of planning a dodge ball tourny for weekend after next and a school carnival for March 1st. Lots to do before the season starts.

That's okay...we don't really expect anyone besides Lori to keep caught up around here....just make sure you are reading daily so you know we aren't talking aboutcha :rolleyes1  Oh...and that makes me tired just reading it :faint:

What have I done to myself????????????

I'm sorry I didn't get my story up tonite....it really is a bit involved. However, I have an appt. to get my oil changed tomorrow morning, so I will charge my battery on my laptop and start typing it up while I'm waiting :thumbsup2

Hey, multitasking is a great idea!

What an honor!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I just love that little smilie with the plumbers crack going on. :lmao: You need to post him more often.

you are just jealous i have more than you do.
hey, i thought you were in the carolinas now....

I just want you to know that I am not jealous and you can keep all of your snow just in case you were thinking of shipping some my way.

Guess I better hit the hay. Nite everyone!

well, i could ask mr mac about the catholic thing and meat.
that's his thing and he would splain it to me.

i have no idea about what you said marcie on the dietary issues you are going through now due to the mass.

speaking of mr mac, he is still in new york.
he has re re re booked his flight back to chi town for 7 tomorrow morning.
will have to wait and see if that one gets canceled.

i can see we are dropping like flies here tonight.

Crud, are you kidding me? I have to catch up with like 837 pages. Well, slap my bottom and watch my fat jiggle......

She is not getting grades that would be consistent with the mental abilities she has. The psychologist asked me three questions and after my answers and talking with kbean for a bit HIGHLY recommends the testing for her……could make a world of difference for her. She asked me 1) Can you ask her to do 3 things and have her complete all three? No. One Two if we are lucky and the tasks are related to each other. 2) Is she impulsive? Um – yeah, very! 3) how organized is she? Not at all. She has absolutely NO organizational skills at all, whatsoever!! No matter how many times I set her up, organize her binders, whatever. So now I need to get this assessment/testing lined up. We need to help her out, because next year and through HS are going to be even more challenging for her as the coursework increases and gets harder. KWIM??

I really, really, really, really need a vacation!! LOL!!

Tracie, I just wanted to say that if people asked the same three questions about me to any of my family members, they would've responded the same as you did about our Kbean, and I think I turned out OK, if you call OK being a self-sustaining individual who is able to hold a job and own a home. ;) KBean is going to be just fine, primarily because she has an A1 mom. You know what's best for her. And I'm totally here if you need to vent or bounce ideas. I have a limited amount of training on labeling and special ed (albeit 10+ years ago), but I am happy to help where I can and support you fully. And that was not a vent, and I hope your next vacation is with me! I know you guys think I don't enjoy children, but I do enjoy other people's children quite a bit and I'm looking forward to meeting our beans! BTW, you are going to the HRH for Kait's bday, right? When is her birthday? Is she April or May? Is she a Taurus too?!

OK, need to plow through the other 649 pages I've missed .....

i don't recall giving you the option of taking time off.....

you better get ahold of jennifer, miss jaws and see if she will pick up the slack for wake up time......

we know we can not count on jodie for early morning wakes ups.
it ain't gonna ever happened with her.

i think that is code for she is into S & M.......

When you look at your quote this way, it looks like I'm the one into that Silly & Mean S&M you speak ... but I realize it was Tracie. :lmao: Darlings, I am only good for a 6-7 wake up call when I've been up all night ... working. ;)

i'm just shy - really i am...

thanks though:thumbsup2
sure 'nuff can toot my kids horns all day:banana:

southern belles can get away with saying nearly anything...it's that lovely accent...I come off sounding like a harpy:confused3

Ok, I haven't forgotten about the rest of your trippie ... I have been waiting for it! You know how I love cruising! Can't wait to read the rest. Hoping to pour through this thread, and get caught up on your cruise thread in the am. :thumbsup2

Do you know what? I don't even know where the heck I am leaving off because every time I quote something, it brings me back to the last page, then I have no idea where I started and then I just pick a random post on a random page to respond to, and it's not going to be congruent, and you're all going to be annoyed at me for the randomness of my responses, but I sure hope you appreciate the effort at least because I had a cruummmmmy night at work, and this second glass of wine isn't doing it, but if I'm being honest, and if it's one thing about me it's that I don't lie well, well, crud I forgot where I was going with that ....

Mornin' Homies!
I found you!!! You may think I've not been around, but I have been in and out....just trying to read and "ketchup"....difficult task.....takes FOREVER!!! I guess you can say I've been in "lurk" mode....Too much going on to comment on everything, but wondering what in the world happened to Lawrence....did he get suspended from the DIS or something, but was allowed to come here and say goodbye....:confused3. I missed Marcie's post about grades, but we also have an online grade viewing system. We used to have Edline, but now we have Pinnacle. I have to agree with Jennifer and Tracie that it is a WONDERFUL tool that no parent should be without! Although I do wish that my kids work was posted like Tracie's Kbean's work is.....DS13 (soon to be 14) has one really good teacher in particular that will e-mail me when she sees a problem or when there is a VERY IMPORTANT assignment. Zack has some memory issues....forgets everything...and this teacher knows how he is. I don't know if you remember or not, but I told you guys about my last parent/teacher conference with her and she told me that Zack was "so blond....blonder than any girl" that this teacher knows!

Mac, you asked about February birthdays....my Zack (DS13) will be 14 on February 14.....Valentine's Day....now that's really something considering that Jacob (DS10) will be 11 on May 11, which happens to be Mother's Day this year and was also Mother's Day in 1997 when he was born....DH and I have said that if I hadn't gotten my tubes tied after Jacob, we would have probably had a Millenium baby.....

Well, I'm running late for work....:scared1: so I better get off here!!!! C-ya's later!

I think it's soooooo sweet that you have a Valentines' Baby, Alison! I wish I were born on Valentines Day. Ok, I wish I were born on Halloween, but a Valentines' Baby must bring fond memories to you and your hubby!

Mike tells me his Valentine's present this year to me is going to be that he's starting his Chantix. I will be asking for your love and support during those times as I think it may be as difficult for him as it is for me. But, wait, this post isn't about me. Alison, you have a beautiful family. :goodvibes Did you have a good day at work?

Hey guys! I'm here. Actually, I've been here for awhile. I'm in a pisser of a mood, so I don't want it to spill over onto anyone else.

Oh, here's a fun fact for the day. Did you know that marks made with Dry Erase markers will not wash out of denim, no matter what you treat the stain with? :headache:

Pisser of a mood? Tricia? No way. That surely doesn't happen here. And never with you. Ever. Just like I'm never annoyed at anything. Ever.

Thank you for enlightening me with your fun fact about Dry Erase markers. I am not being facetious. I will take your advise seriously next time I have to explain to some idiot trainee I get stuck with the difference between Lightguide facilities and SONET facilities and FCC Reporting requirements for OC-Xs .... Wait! I CAN'T STOP MAKING THESE POSTS ALL ABOUT ME!!!!! I'M SORRY!

I have absolutely no idea where I've left off, so you're all just going to have to forgive me ..... Another random (random as in not in order, not one that I just said einie, meinie, miney, mo too) .....

Hi Lori - lots of small issues with the family keeping me busy.

We are getting my MIL's house ready to put on the market. She is running out of cash to pay for the nursing home, so time to unload the house. :sad2:

DH and his sibs are trying to decide who gets what. Some things have come up missing.... I think it's going to get ugly.

We are headed down there on Saturday to repaint the interior and wash all the curtains. She was a heavy smoker and the walls are a nasty yellow from the nicotine. :scared1:

Oh, Sharon, I am sorry to hear about these woes. Nursing home care is so expensive and selling one's home to pay for the care is so hard to do. I hope that your family can work everything out.

Thats the storm that Lori and Mac are getting now. Maybe it will peter out by the time it gets to us? Wishful thinking I guess.

Yum, devil's food. I make a devils food whoopie pie that is excellent if I do say so myself. :rotfl2:

My DH is on his way right now to give you a quote on having that basement waterproofed!

He said it sounds like condensation, because the cement is colder than the ground. But if you have standing water, its hydrostatic pressure. Something about the water trying to
equalize and a high water table. (I got bored at this point and just kept saying ok, yep, ok.) :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'll take a snowstorm anyday over a tornado. I feel so bad for all those families affected.

I forgot what I was going to say ... sorry. This post did strike me for a reason... I'm failing to remember it now....

I have a comfortable buzz, so everyone is leaving again?

Fine.

:p

Apparently, they are leaving. I am posting to myself. It's getting harder and harder to remember why I picked a post to quote.......... Can someone go into my basement and get me a(nother) bottle of wine ... oh, wait, I have a husband for that....

I don't remember where I left off!

And for post # 7,000 I return to the SAN Part Deux thread!

Woot! Congratulations, Todd, you must be wicked proud! And we're wicked honored you chose her to post your 7K ... unlike Barb who was afraid her 10K would get lost in here .... I'm just saying.

oh crud.... its 1015 est......I am about 4 beers in the hole

and try black cherry rum and cherry coke zero - it'll nail you quickly :lmao:

I have to say I have never gotten nailed by a rum and coke zero. What is that like? I've gotten nailed other ways. Just not by rum. Never with rum. Only on Sundays. Never on Mondays.

Welcome to the jungle
We've got fun 'n' games
We got everything you want
Honey, we know the names
We are the people that can find
Whatever you may need
If you got the money, honey
We got your disease
and games

:dance3:  nothin like a lil GNR to spice up the afternoon

Whatever happened to Axl Rose?

Ok, I have to give up for now because I keep clicking on the same page, forgetting that I already clicked on it and responded, and my most dear husband did in fact tape tonight's episode of Project Runway for me (BTW, Brab ahahahaha that was somewhere in the thread, though I don't know where and haven't figured out why ... did you watch the Watch What Happens with the Desperate Housewives of the OC with Andy Cohen? We are totally going to have to chat about that.), and I am going to watch that now if I don't fall asleep before it's over.

Motherfletcher of alll Fletchers will be up shortly to wake you up. I bet he's down about 32.8 pounds by now and wasting away to nothing.

Have i filled up a whole page yet?

Who isn't up at 1.27 am EST? Don't we have any left coasters? Speaking of left coasters, Happy Birfday to my most darling angry liberal brother, Brian. I hate you, but I love you, KWIM? Do yourself a favor and don't name the baby after me.

PS. Tricia (Trisha?), Did your sister really spell your name wrong on your wedding gift? Really? Your own sister?
