A filter violation is typing something to get around the filter. If you type a bad word that is filtered it will just automatically show up like this: ****

But if you change it so the filters don't catch it, then you get a warning and then points. For instance, let's pretend that the word: "Darn" is a bad word. If I typed the word Darn! it would automatically show up as ****! But if I wanted to try and circumvent the filter I might type: D@rn! or D*rn or D arn! So I would be warned with a filter violation.

Yes, you will get a PM if you are warned or are given violations. it will also show up when you go to your profile. Others can't see it but you will be able to see it on your own profile.

yikes, glad i asked - thanks for the detailed explanation

it's still 60 here, front must be coming thru it's thundering & lightening, got a couple inches of rain over the last couple days & my basement floor is wet:confused3 no cracks or seepage i can find or standing water -just thoroughly wet...eeeeeeeek

hoping that the ground is just so saturated & that we really never got a good, hard freeze:confused:so everything is just seeping down thru ; sorta like what we get in the spring although never this bad before.

i praise my DH for raising the floor in the finished game room or the carpet would be toast, guess i'll have to get the fans out to dry everything up

all day long evening activities have been canceled in maine and new hampshire. sharon and i both are getting snow tonight and then another freakishly huge storm saturday into sunday.
looks like friday will be french toast pickup day.

i can hear the snowblower snarling. i can.

DH just went to get gasoline for the blower and i ordered pizza.

earlier, i made my belated birthday cake. devil's food.

Ummm... yeah... Penny... about that offer of a room... maybe I'll hold off until spring... or summer even. :scared:

My OWN bathroom?!?!? Quiet???

I'm on my way...

yea, but does the door clear the toilet by more than 1/4 of an inch.
that is what i want to know......

So, I'm thinking of having a rum & coke.

Make your plans accordingly. ;)

switch rum for jack and you have a deal

as to violations - what is a filter violation:confused: ?

i was going to explain but see the mod did a much better job on it than i ever could.

i like to leave out the bad stuff........;)

We are also trying to re-create the last 3 years of her financial life in case we have to sign her up for medicaid. She just stuffed bills all over the house, not a filing cabinet or folder in site! :headache:

I have to give a plug for hospice care. It has been a wonderful experience for MIL. Someone visits with her almost daily. She has this one favorite lady who comes in and sets her hair! She could (and does) have it done at the beauty shop at the nursing home, but seems to enjoy the time spent with this special person!
They also cover some of her prescriptions that insurance doesn't
!

that is so difficult to have to go thru that sharon.
selling the house is a joint burden for the entire family.
i hope it all works out well.

i had to sign up one of my family members on medicaid recently.
it went thru but it is hard to get a good doctor with that program, or it was for me.

 hope all works out well with the financial situation for the nursing home.
Glad hospice is working out well for your MIL.

Looks like outside that about 1,000 Stay Puff marshmallow guys blew up :rotfl2:
It is so snowy outside and too much snow! :scared1:

Ok, have a good night everyone.
  i love that!
you hit it so right!!

don't use the snowblower.
you only have two feet and one is shot already.

with as much snow as you will get, they wouldn't find you for days penny if you were laying out in a bank of snow.

just eat pizza and let the world pass you by...

Thats the storm that Lori and Mac are getting now. Maybe it will peter out by the time it gets to us? Wishful thinking I guess.

Yum, devil's food. I make a devils food whoopie pie that is excellent if I do say so myself. :rotfl2:

My DH is on his way right now to give you a quote on having that basement waterproofed!

He said it sounds like condensation, because the cement is colder than the ground. But if you have standing water, its hydrostatic pressure. Something about the water trying to
equalize and a high water table. (I got bored at this point and just kept saying ok, yep, ok.) :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ummm... yeah... Penny... about that offer of a room... maybe I'll hold off until spring... or summer even. :scared:

I'll take a snowstorm anyday over a tornado. I feel so bad for all those families affected.

Its hard here too. We don't have a large pool of Dr's in Maine. And then to find one that will go to the nursing home.

Just the motivation I need to lose a few pounds!

Dear Tricia,
This is an invitation for you to come on up to Maine to hide-oops, meant visit. You can have your own bathroom and bedroom, and more peace and quiet than you will know what to do with.

Love,
Penny :grouphug:

:rotfl: i think you shoulda sent that by carrier pigeon or dogsled tho.... :rolleyes1

Ya'll need to set your alarms cuz I'm off till Monday. Be good and mind the Mac.

uh.....WHAT!?!?! :snooty:

Well, come on now, I'm the one who started whining about how DS15 believes we're torturing him!

Welcome Marcie to the 'mean Mom club'.

Hey guys! I'm here. Actually, I've been here for awhile. I'm in a pisser of a mood, so I don't want it to spill over onto anyone else.

They want to test Joshua for the gifted class.

Oh, here's a fun fact for the day. Did you know that marks made with Dry Erase markers will not wash out of denim, no matter what you treat the stain with? :headache:

I'm hoping that rum (or jack) & coke is going to help that mood :rolleyes1 I'm ready for PUI.... is Brad ready?

Did you google the dry erase marker to see what could take it out? How about vingar? That crap is good for everything it seems... :confused3 :rotfl: And regarding the gifted class..... See how he tests. Only you and Brad know how he can handle the workload.... There is no shame in turning it down.... Tons more work, yes, more stress, sure.... But, for heaven's sake...he's only in Kindergarten!! Ry's K teacher told us he was too bright for Kindergarten, but she kept him as "challenged" as she could....and that is the key....keep his brain busy...not bored.... You will make the right decision for what is best for him..... After all, who knows him best??

Hi all-
Ok, confession time from me. I have sinned. I have this crush on Matthew's band teacher :lovestruc I blush when I see his band teacher. SO not good.
He is cute lookin, tho. He is probably around my age. And I love music as well! I got to snap out of this. DH doesn't know.

It's an 'infatuation' and will pass....it's normal. Think about it this way...guys check out hot chicks all the time...only THEY get caught :rolleyes1  At least we women are smart enuf to NOT get caught! :rotfl2:

date night???:wizard:

naw...no such thing in my house...sub-urban legend - me thinks.

yeah...me thinks so too :sad2:

Welcome to the jungle
We've got fun 'n' games
We got everything you want
Honey, we know the names
We are the people that can find
Whatever you may need
If you got the money, honey
We got your disease
and games

:dance3:  nothin like a lil GNR to spice up the afternoon

i don't recall giving you the option of taking time off.....

a/k/a...bring a note

macraven said:
we know we can not count on jodie for early morning wakes ups.
it ain't gonna ever happened with her.

:sad2: :lmao:

Whoa.....whoa......WHOA!!! :lmao:

not into :lmao: S&M or flogging - sorry mac & lori

they were screams, like from the shrek preshow how you are supposed to scream after that word each time......get yer minds out of the gutter :sad2: :sad2:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I believe in the Shrek preshow, you are to shout "OH NO".... :rolleyes1

Yes, Zack is a blonde! and yes, I do like that teacher...she LOVES Zack and she keeps me informed. You'd just have to know Zack....he's a smart kid, but "blonde" in soooooo many ways....when that teacher said that, I had shared one of his REALLY bad "blonde" moments with her. Zack had an assignment for her class that she had e-mailed me about. She had given him 5 rough leads that he was supposed to turn into good leads. He was to choose one of them and make it perfect and re-write it in his best handwriting. I asked him to see it and he showed me the piece of paper with all 5 on it. I asked him where was the one he chose to make perfect.....he said..."right there Mom, it's number 4"...I said, "OK, now where is it written in your best handwriting?" He said...."I erased it and re-wrote it"....I said. "Don't you know you were supposed to write it on ANOTHER sheet of paper?" He said...."MOM! You didn't tell me that!!!" :rotfl2: :lmao: Now do you see what I mean?

 My blonde son would do and say the EXACT SAME thing!!! :lmao:

Okay, I remember the moans from Shrek's pre-show now. See I didn't get to go last summer cause Ally didn't want to. I really need to go once with just my buddies. Leave the kids behind.

ahem :rolleyes1

Hi all, :yay:

didya save me a bed in our new home? Hope it's not the sleep sofa, those hurt my back...

You get the sofabed or Lawrence's old bed.... 'snooze ya lose'

Tracie - my son has ADD. He was diagnosed in middle school. We new beforehand that he was really forgetful and couldn't stay on task, but when he got to middle school with the increased responsibility of homework assignments and projects it really became an issue. I'm not going to go into detail here and bore everyone to death, but it was something that could not be ignored. He would be in tears every night wondering what was wrong with him. This went way way beyond the normal forgetfulness of being a teenager.
We did go ahead and give the perscription. Tried several different ones and different dosages before we found one that works great. No side effects at all except for a loss of appetite.
He only takes this on school days and it only stays in your system for about 8 hours depending on what you take.

There is no right or wrong answer on how to treat ADD/ADHD. Some of my friends were horrified that I had ok'd medicating him. He will be graduating this year at the top of his class! You have to do what is right for you and your child.

Congrats for your son! That treatment seemed to work well for him...what an accomplishment graduating top of his class....you should be so proud!! (this is hockey-boy right?)

I'll take a snowstorm anyday over a tornado. I feel so bad for all those families affected.

True. Absolutely. The storm lost its punch before it got here, so no tornadoes. Thank goodness. The pictures of the devestation have been amazing.

I bought plane tickets today for a weeklong vacation this May to my favorite little resort in Fort Lauderdale!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Just the motivation I need to lose a few pounds!

Yay!

Take me with you... please... I don't take up much space. Just throw me a mixed drink every once in awhile. Heck, I'll just spend the week at Bahia Mar anyway... :confused3

Freakin' snow.

Good to see you too Damo! :rotfl:

So, I'm thinking of having a rum & coke.

Make your plans accordingly. ;)

:woohoo:  :woohoo:

Maybe I'll break out the wine :scratchin

Hi Lori - lots of small issues with the family keeping me busy.

We are getting my MIL's house ready to put on the market. She is running out of cash to pay for the nursing home, so time to unload the house. :sad2:

DH and his sibs are trying to decide who gets what. Some things have come up missing.... I think it's going to get ugly.

We are headed down there on Saturday to repaint the interior and wash all the curtains. She was a heavy smoker and the walls are a nasty yellow from the nicotine. :scared1:

What an ordeal....good luck...You're gonna need it. Sad you have to start parting her things up...but, ya gotta do whatcha gotta do.

You know, like putting 7734 on a calculator and turning it upside down so that you could giggle at the naughty word.

:lmao: i usedta love doing that :lmao:

never did get around to receiving my ashes today, i'm damned for sure now.

nah...something tells me you'll still be 'in good' with the big guy! :thumbsup2

She has this one favorite lady who comes in and sets her hair! She could (and does) have it done at the beauty shop at the nursing home, but seems to enjoy the time spent with this special person!
They also cover some of her prescriptions that insurance doesn't!

Something small like that really brightens their day. In beauty skool, once a month, we'd do our community service and walk down the street in town to the senior center and do trims....at no charge of course...really put a smile on the lol's faces.... :teeth:

YAY! No hockey practice tonight....more snow instead.

So...no Milky Way hot chocolate from Dunkin Donuts.... :confused3

Looks like outside that about 1,000 Stay Puff marshmallow guys blew up :rotfl2:

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: good one Rose!!!

i can hear the snowblower snarling. i can.

DH just went to get gasoline for the blower and i ordered pizza.

earlier, i made my belated birthday cake. devil's food.

Ignore the snowblower and focus on that cake :thumbsup2

My Mom's basement gets that kind of wet with a lot of heavy, constant rain. She doesn't have any leaks, but the ground is just SO wet, it's inevitable :confused3

yea, but does the door clear the toilet by more than 1/4 of an inch.
that is what i want to know......

 :lmao:

Congrats for your son! That treatment seemed to work well for him...what an accomplishment graduating top of his class....you should be so proud!! (this is hockey-boy right?)

Yep, goalie-boy! Guess all those pucks to the head didn't do to much damage. :rolleyes1 Who knew hockey players could be smart!? :confused3

The difference is that you made the decision, not a teacher that just didn't want to deal with a child. I am so glad that you were able to help him. He is an amazing child. Congrats to him!

i despise the smell of rum & coke on their own, carry over from bartending days i suppose-gets cloying when bunches of peeps are downing them.

I like the smell of rum & the smell of coke; mix them together & my stomach churns...sorta like the smell of a pitcher of kamakazis:confused3 although that's from downing one too many of them

never did get around to receiving my ashes today, i'm damned for sure now.

sharon - sorry to hear about MIL, i've been there - it's heartwrenching all the way around...hope it goes smoothly for you

The only time I have had those problems was when I was pregnant. I love Mexican food but we would have to stop eating it because the smell would make me nauseous .

We are also trying to re-create the last 3 years of her financial life in case we have to sign her up for medicaid. She just stuffed bills all over the house, not a filing cabinet or folder in site! :headache:

So is school going to be canceled for Sharon's kiddo? Are the boys going to pile snow up and block the doors again?

I say stay away from that snow blower. It will eventually melt!

it's still 60 here, front must be coming thru it's thundering & lightening, got a couple inches of rain over the last couple days & my basement floor is wet:confused3 no cracks or seepage i can find or standing water -just thoroughly wet...eeeeeeeek

I totally agree! That snow blower is mean.

Thats the storm that Lori and Mac are getting now. Maybe it will peter out by the time it gets to us? Wishful thinking I guess.

Yum, devil's food. I make a devils food whoopie pie that is excellent if I do say so myself. :rotfl2:

I'll take a snowstorm anyday over a tornado. I feel so bad for all those families affected.

Not Lori. We got cold and rain all day yesterday. I think it was the storm that spawned all the nasty tornado's. Fortunately it was to cold here for them. So very sad that so many lost their lives.

So what is a whoopie pie? Sounds yummy.

Hey I think you're right. Now we need a new explanation from Tracie.

Well I did mean you too. I want a trip with my buddies in the box without MY KIDS!

True. Absolutely. The storm lost its punch before it got here, so no tornadoes. Thank goodness. The pictures of the devestation have been amazing.

I'm glad it lost it's punch. It was nasty.
