The Daniel story from last night...

Joshua was setting up his Star Wars action figures and having battles (or whatever goes through his imagination when he's playing). He would get the figures all lined up on the coffee table and then Daniel would come along and swipe them all off with his arm while yelling, "HEE-YAH!"

Daniel thinks he's doing what he sees Joshua do.

Joshua thinks Daniel is a pain in the butt because he won't leave his stuff alone.

I distract Daniel and get him to play with me... building puzzles, which is one of his favorite things right now. As soon as I get Daniel interested in something else, Joshua will call Daniel and ask if he wants to play with him.

I tried to explain to Joshua that he can't have it both ways. Daniel is too young to understand how to play the way Joshua wants to play. SOOOO, he can either let Daniel knock his figures around, OR I will get him to leave him alone. It's tough for Joshua because he wants to play with Daniel, he just doesn't want Daniel to mess with his stuff.

Oh Tricia -

I used to go thru this ALL the time when I was watching the nephews full time. You see Fbean is 6, N#1 is 5, N#2 is 3.....it was always a challenge to keep the little guy from knocking over whatever the 2 older boys were doing....and if I missed his knocking it over - it was a MAJOR scene

I am probably going to be watching them during the summer two days (along with their new little sister) on top of that I have my 3 and the other little girl that I have had since she was 3.....This summer will prove to be a challenge.

Hey - I have a 31 foot deck, you think if I glued all of them a few feet apart I would be ok??!!?? I promise I would turn the sprinkler on every now and then to keep them cool

Hey hey...not sure...might check out the SPCA again...a different shelter this time though. Or...I might head to one of the parks for a while. Aquatica opens today but I won't be going there.

Good Luck - go to a different one and let us know how you make out. Your weather is back to "normal" now right?

Sounds like a plan to me! As long as you toss them snacks and hose them down every so often, why not?

It's getting there...still a little cool for me. Certainly too cool to put the top down on the car. I'll be glad in a couple of weeks though...the weather should be warmer.

Hoping you get a break sooner or later.....I still have a bad feeling that sometime VERY soon me, Barb, Jodie, Mike, etc are gonna get SOCKED with the snow.

Barb, the owner of the salon is drinkin from a cup o the crazy ... he should make it so that you WANT to use his products and lotions. #1. You need to be knowledgeable about each booth/bed and lotion. #2. WTH does it say if you have to go some place ELSE to tan because you can get a better deal elsewhere??? I know I would NOT tan somewhere if the salon's employees tanned elsewhere on a regular basis. AND, how friggin cheap? There are only, what, 6 of you (I didn't count) .. it's not like he's letting 20 employees tan. That is just ridiculous. It is lousy business practice, IMHO.

I am sorry I am not catching up fully. That story just caught my eye, and I don't know what day it is right now.

Tracie, you are sweet to ask. New guy hasn't started yet. I am not sure what his start date is going to be, but he flat out told me that he's not bringing anything to the team (he doesn't know the technology or systems we're responsible for) AND he told me that he's only "hanging out" at his new place on our team until he can collect social security in 2-3 years. Lovely. And don't get me started how he tried to put a condition on his "employment" with us saying that he couldn't work day tours. I, along with a few other teammates, put the kabosh on that (my manager would've had a mutiny on his hands) If you can't rotate and work all 3 tours, that doesn't fly. Apparently, sitting on your butt and doing nothing while you collect a pay check does. I HATE the RIPs!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, I didn't have a say in whether or not to hire this jerk. (Now, aren't you glad you asked?! )

Hello all .... i am still here ...and no I didn't fall into bed and forget to get up .

I do have to say I am enjoying my bed though .
So far so good just still trying to figure out how to work it all .

I am going to go look for my new cricut machine today for my B-Day next Saturday .

I will get to a full report later going out now and well I just wanted to let you all know I was still ALIVE .

Hey Tammy!We just finished getting the darn thing in the house on Thursday night (it was a pain in the butt!). DH spent last night cleaning it and putting about half of the bulbs in (it has 46). We broke some starters and some bulb holders moving it 1000 miles from Florida to Arkansas and I ordered them yesterday. We also have to install a 220 outlet for it. Hopefully, we will have it in operation SOON! But I LOVE it...We got a GREAT deal on it, so GREAT that we couldn't pass it up and hey a day at US/IOA! What can I say.....I started tanning in January and I have until March 20 to tan where I've been going. I think I'm pretty dark...I look darker in person than I look in the pics from Saturday that I posted.

Barb, I think they should let you tan for half price too! Yes, it is good advertising for the employees to have good tans, and what does he have to lose by letting you buy lotions at cost plus shipping? All it would mean for him would be that you would have more knowledge of the products and he might have to place an order earlier than he planned...I buy my lotion on eBay. Oh yeah, and DH says that you and I have been smokin' crack , tellin' Lawrence to ride Dueling Dragons....even he knows Lawrence has back problems!

Hi all-
Update on my dad. He is doing well after surgery. He is in ICU since he came back from surgery last night. They took out his ventilator and breathing on his own. He is on ice chips and IVs as usual. Nothing by mouth. He is tired but that is expected. THe nurse taking care of dad today in ICU called me this afternoon to give me an update. Got to talk "nursey talk" with her, as I used to work as an RN few yrs back
My mom is there visiting him this afternoon. She said no reason for me to be there since she is there and dad is sleeping most of the time.

Off to go to church pretty soon. Have your backs.

ma made great progress today, climbed the steps from MIL apt to DR for dinner w/2 canes instead of the walker ...reminded me of when my kids were little and they took their first steps...guess i'm the mommie now
dh made it home an hour late due to the roads...what a mess.

kfed - happy house hunting. On the local news they had a story on this am about some poor older guy whose car got involved in a hit & run. He said he was from NY in town for the swim meet...is he one of your peeps? Mr. Cauley?Crawley and it looked like he was driving a grey taurus

jodie - dh & i still r chuckling over the rip employees nomiker, confused though wouldn't daylight be the shift everyone wants?

barb - 1st thing i look for when i go to tanning salon is whether the employees are not just tanned, i want bronzed goddesses!! Know @ hollywood tans (which is the biggest rip off place i ever got suckered into 2 years ago) the employees agree to tan daily/at mgrs discretion . Did hubby get his toy? they were over $1K when we looked @ them last summer, don't know of anyone with one. I'm worried the one we bought instead (a non-digital) will still play on tv if we switch over to HD?
