If I wanted petty and exploitative, I'd watch the Real HOs of Orange County, er.... I mean, The Real Housewives of Orange County (which I do and is my favorite current train wreck). Does anyone else watch? Or Project Runway, my favorite reality show ever?
Anyway, GOOD MORNING, homie-ritos and homie-ritas!!!

I'm ashamed to admit that I watch Real Housewives faithfully. Hey, I watch Project Runway too. Who do you like best? Who do you think will win?

Sharon, Princess Peanut is interested in anything I'm eating and/or drinking. The glass hopped and splattered a bit. Thankfully, with 2 kitties I always have Resolve on hand. So, if you covered your bed-stand water (I have bed-stand water too. :) ), I guess you don't share ice cream with your kits? Mike gets disgusted when I do that. Or sweet milk at the end of cereal. And yet, I will not change a diaper. Go figure.

Nope, no sharing of ice cream. One of my kitties will share popcorn with me thou. She licks off the salt. The other kitty likes oyster crackers and cherrios. My white cat is shedding something fierce this winter. It seems like most of my clothes are black. I'm spending way too much with the lint brush. Got a few at home, one at work, one in the truck....

this is news for you.

I have never quit a job before. well i did. I quit first week of January. I did the right thing and DH supported me 200 percent. then, less than 48 hours later my nephew passed away. so while having been a wacky two weeks, yes i am looking for a new job and doing well, despite crashing and burning monday with the snowblower.

so, compared with others in this world, i am doing pretty damn well. :thumbsup2

Good luck in the job search Penny. I don't think there is much out there right now. Of course, it depends on what you are looking for I guess. Hopefully you can stay home until nicer weather hits. Speaking of work, guess I should actually get some done before the boss(es) arrive. ;)

where is todd?

he knows better..........he also is aware i count noses before green lights go out here....

metro, bring a note from home in the morning or i will have to hurt you.

she will Todd!

The doctor said I have soft tissue in my throat (because I'm fat) and asked if I snored. I asked my daughter last night when I picked her up from her basketball game if she could hear me snore at night. She said they could hear me from China.

I'm going to do the lab and find out how bad I am. This usually is a man thing like being color blind or left handed. I'm both so I likely have this too.

You're not alone....lots of men (and, according to Janet, women too) have that problem... best thing is to see what's going on and then find a treatment that will help....it is important to get a good nights rest... stress & not sleeping well at night contributes to being overweight.... Keep us posted on what happens....

It had a little ribbon attached that said something like "Yes, we can do!" They wanted to promote this to the public and I lost a bet with the big, big, big boss so he made me put on a costume that was supposed to look like the little yellow ball. They made the body out of bright, yellow, long-haired fabric. To cover my legs they made me don these plus size women's green tights. My shoes were huge green plastic clown shoes. The antennae were glittering silver balls on a hair clamp to the head thing. I had huge yellow clown glasses and they got hair paint and colored my hair and beard yellow. Like Mickey Mouse I didn't talk but unlike MM you could tell who I was! I did 2 commercials in this get up but that wasn't enough. They had me do a promotion at the mall and they gave away the little yellow balls. Kids would see me and try to figure out who I was supposed to be. The best was, "Look, Mom, it's Big Bird!" Embarassing!

morning, getting ready to grab an blankie & crawl on the big comfy couch

 better soon....

Hi coastermom!

Another peep from the northeast. Sigh. I'm still in the minority.

Don't think of it as 'minority'...think of it as 'smart you live far enuf away from us'....closer to motherland, not in the cold or the snow.... :thumbsup2

Freaked me out at the time and I live in the friggin foothills, so hilly and/or curvy roads are the norm for me. The worst road, however, that I've ever been on was on Maui. Sharp drop off with jagged rocks and crashing ocean at the bottom. :scared1:

We went to NH for a wedding when I was pregnant....drove the RENTAL car up Mt. Washington  :lmao: Same thing...NO guiderails, driving to edge of the road...DH later admitted he was scared outta his mind! (Was cool tho! I recommend it to anyone!)

RVGal said:
I'll do better next time. Can I send the kids to you when they pitch a hissy fit?

Is hissy fit a southern thing? Do people have hissy fits elsewhere in the world? I mean, I know they have them... but do you call it that? :confused3

otherwise known as "temper tantrum" too?? Go ahead...send 'em to House of Bubba....they will NEVER have one again....promise ;)

I got my W2s e-mailed to me! :yay: :yay:

E-filing FTW!

interesting.... :scratchin ....didn't know you could get them via email ...... :confused3

OK, here's my bucket list: all travel & history related.

Do a photography safari in Africa.

Uh....(never been, forgive the question), but ain't that like the safari at AK? :confused3

I actually am looking forward to getting ours this year as well. I won't get into what happened last year. Let's just say when you're DINKs, it is best to file your W4 as "married but withhold at the higher single rate." :rolleyes1

We always had more taken out...figured if we could live with less, getting more back was a bonus! Didn't know I wuz homies with a DINK??

Mac, I hate American Idol (I will tell you all about why privately), but I did watch 5 minutes of it last night so I could pretend that I watched it and talk intelligently about it, and then you perhaps would think that I am a fan and I watched the whole thing. Alas, I am a very bad liar. I did, however, feel very sorry for Douglas. He was the one who kept trying to sing Bon Jovi while pacing in circles. I thought they were handling him very well until Randy said, "Let's just exploit him." Very mean, I thought. If I wanted petty and exploitative, I'd watch the Real HOs of Orange County, er.... I mean, The Real Housewives of Orange County (which I do and is my favorite current train wreck). Does anyone else watch? Or Project Runway, my favorite reality show ever?

I don't normally watch it either...I just watch the beginning because of all the poor people who think they can sing? It's comical, yet admiring, these people go on national tv and do their thing.... I thought the finale was :rotfl: and glad I watched..... (not to mention there really wasn't anything else on i was interested in, and I have to watch something while working out!)

On occassion I will watch Real Housewives....for a good laugh! These people/wives have the world by the @$$ and yet the drama :lmao: kills me!!! (How about the one guy wanting 'help' with his rent, yet forks over $400 for a pair of jeans! :lmao: I'm sorry...but not even THERE are jeans worth that much unless you are TRYING to pay top dollar!) I don't watch faithfully...but, if I see nothing else is on, I turn that on...(usually on weekends).

I found this nanner for Joshua and Fbean.....
BannanaMario.gif
Mario rocks!!!!

Baby girl is now named - Cierra Grace - I think its nice :goodvibes Apparently the boys were like little demons last night in the hospital. The youngest (3yo) ripped the bow out of her hair (the hospital put it there after she was born) they were rolling on the floor and trying to run out in the hallway :scared1: :scared1: They are a handful for sure :faint:

I am SO tired today but I volunteered to help out in Frank's Kindergarten class today......need lots of coffee (meh - that caffeine doesn't effect me anymore) I have been up since 4:40am (didn't go to sleep until 11:30) .....couldn't go back to sleep.....gonna be a long day. We are all going to see the baby tonight at the hospital :yay: (oh, and SIL too)!

Let me go walk the dog - maybe the brisk air will clear the ever present cobwebs :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Cierra Grace, thats a pretty name! Cierra Belle would have been nice too!

Tricia - what's a FOP? :confused3

Sorry, I thought that was a common thing. Ummm... it's an impolite slang acronym for F-word Old People (or, the more polite Florida Old People).

Chattanooga, Tricia? For real? Can we maybe do Dollywood instead? That's so much more funner. Funnerer. Funnest. Ever.

Ooooo... Dollywood. I can just see this crowd at Dollywood. :lmao:

I've been once. We were in Pigeon Forge, so what else is there to do? It's not that bad, but it's not that good either. Kinda low scale Six Flags-ish.

i have the air cast to clunk around in in the house, and it is helping.

:thumbsup2

I'm glad it is helping.

this is news for you.

I have never quit a job before. well i did. I quit first week of January. That is news, and it sounds like GOOD news.

I remember you saying that a co-worker got the boot not too long ago.

Good luck on the job hunt!

Unknown Precipitation?!? Was it raining cats and dogs or something?! :lmao: :lmao:

I thought the same thing. Unknown? Like we can't identify it? :confused3 :rotfl:

January 16, 2008 DISASTER! A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE RIDE.STARRING YOU! OPENS
TODAY AT UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT

I wanna GO! :woohoo:

January 16, 2008 DISASTER! A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE RIDE.STARRING YOU! OPENS
TODAY AT UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT

Orlando, Fla. (January 17, 2008) - Disaster! A Major Motion Picture
Ride.Starring You! opens today at Universal Studios Florida. The new
attraction features the first-ever use by a theme park of a high-tech
virtual imagery technology called "Musion" and a special appearance by
Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson.

Disaster! replaces Earthquake and combines the best, most dramatic elements
of Earthquake with an all-new storyline, top name celebrities, new "Musion"
technology and all-new interactive elements. Park guests enter "Disaster
Studios" and become part of the production action surrounding a "major
motion picture."

Johnson was at Universal Studios Thursday for the opening of the new
attraction. In the attraction, Johnson plays a film hero who helps "save
the day."

Musion technology is a unique high-definition video projection system that
transforms two-dimensional images into what seem to be live
three-dimensional images. The Musion set in place at Disaster! is the
first-ever use of the technology by a theme park and the largest permanent
installation of that technology ever. Universal uses Musion technology to
bring Disaster Studio Director "Frank Kincaid" to life as he explains the
passion behind his work and recruits guests to take part in his next
picture.

"The use of Musion technology in this attraction allows us to blend illusion
with reality to surprise and entertain our guests," said Mark Woodbury,
president of Universal Creative for Universal Parks and Resorts. "They are
amazed by the effects we have created."

Throughout the 15-minute attraction experience, guests are filmed as extras
for different elements of Disaster Studios' newest blockbuster film, "Mutha
Nature," taking direction from Frank Kinkaid and his production assistants.
In the end, they are able to see the results of their work in a
tongue-in-cheek trailer for the film, starring Johnson. Disaster! A Major
Motion Picture Ride.Starring You! is located in the San Fransisco area of
Universal Studios Florida.

Dwayne Johnson is best known for his roles in Universal Pictures' The Mummy
Returns, The Scorpion King and, most recently, The Game Plan. Now a firmly
established presence in Hollywood, he can be seen in the upcoming Warner
Brother's comedy GET SMART opening in theaters June 20, 2008. Johnson is
currently filming the family comedy Witch Mountain scheduled to be released
in the summer of 2009.

That explains why Todd has been AWOL. :thumbsup2

Well for the third time now I have gone through and had everything clicked to respond to and have been interupted. I have to leave and can't respond but wanted to let everyone know I have been on and read. My sister called and is sick, almost passed out taking her shower this morning. Unfortunately today is her day to pick up adds for her magazine so I am going to go do it for her. Will try to respond this evening if I have time.

Have a great day everyone.

Hey Coastermom!

Your from my neck of the woods! I'm on Long Island!

Wasn't that last forecast of snow a letdown??? I was so hoping for a snowday!

Yup ... I am on Staten Island . I hate that the kids haven't had any snow yet .It always seems to snow in Feb . During presidents week when school is already CLOSED . I want a real snow day schools closed , no work and kids happy to be out playing . Not they are not happy during Feb . Break if it snows but aren't the days schools close just better ??:lmao:

Sorry, I thought that was a common thing. Ummm... it's an impolite slang acronym for F-word Old People (or, the more polite Florida Old People).

We call them Q-tips here, among other things. Why do old people, mostly women, want to drive the honkin big cars that they can't even park, never mind see over the steering wheel?! :confused3 :rotfl:

It's not any worse, maybe a bit better. I'm hoping it clears up on its own.

With the way your year is startin' out, maybe ya want to take care of that and not let it to "chance"? :confused3

Thankfully, with 2 kitties I always have Resolve on hand.

I think that stuff is miracle in a bottle :thumbsup2 I use nothing else...that works wonders! ...btw, is Alex adjusting any better to new sissy??

Wait ... did i miss Janet booking a DCL cruise?!!!!! Now I have to go back and find it!!!

Barb, I don't think you could help me write my book because it is actually about my father. I just need a back story to tie it all together because it is not going to be biographical per se. My father has a wicked sense of humor and he's wicked smart. I used to tell him when I was little that I was going to write a book called, "My Father, the ******." It never fazed him. He's just lucky he's a funny Butt hole. Our cruise this summer should be very entertaining.

Oh, and I think, Barb, you should offer baby Tink free hair services for life!!! :goodvibes

yep...she booked 3 day (or nite) Disney cruise and is going around Mickey's Halloween party and HHN...and, get this...going to UO as a DAY GUEST  :faint:

Let us know when you finish that book...I'll buy ;) ...at the booksigning that is! :goodvibes

I would never offer a baby girl free hair for life...do you realize how much that would cost ME down the road??  Boys yes...girls, uh-uh.... But she IS a cutie, ain't she? :goodvibes

I found this nanner for Joshua and Fbean.....

Luvs it.... (be careful our banana-loving gal here doesn't try to smuggle him home to be hers :rolleyes1 )

I think you may have become 'immune' to coffee?? It's days like this you wonder why o why you volunteer for stuff like that...ain't it?? (I don't....I'm smart) Try to have a good day....you'll be in bed early tonite...you'll be quite tired!!!

this is news for you.
I have never quit a job before. well i did. I quit first week of January. That's a girl Penny.....have good optimism.... the year can only get better from here...right??? :goodvibes Good luck with the job hunt..... (i'm not having much luck because my availability is so limited :headache: )

No "hi" or anything??? :snooty:

(but, thanks for the announcement....I did read that)

Ok, Barb, on the Real HOs of the OC, I cannot STAND Vicki. OMG, is she not the most annoying person anywhere, EVER?! I like Jeana and Tammy. Next time you're watching, count how many times Lauri says "Just." Tamra is bizarre and immature, and I'm sorry, but I think both she and her son Ryan just need to admit that he is gay before they can be happy and understand each other and live a peaceful co-existance. You are totally right about the rent and the jeans. What gives with those tattoos? And did Tamra and Simon have to say 8 katrillion times that her Rolex was $40K?? How superficial are these people? And Quinn? Good friggin, grief. I cannot believe that plastic surgeon did not suggest a breast lift for her. She has the Plumber's Butt Cleavage going on in a nasty, nasty way, and she is in serious need of a good lift icw a slight reduction. And what is up with her boyfriend Billy? That is one bizarre tan line around the crown of his hair. And, Jared, that other young guy? He was not a hotty. Something was wrong with him, and what kind of work does he do for a posh pad like that?

OK, now on to PJ, my favorite show! I was so disappointed Kit got booted last night. I like her. Christian I could not stand at first, but he is totally growing on me. Not that I like his style at all, but I do find him entertaining (along with Chris), and I find it fascinating how quick he is. I do not like Victorya. I find her annoying. My fave designer is Jillian. I also get a kick out of Sweet Pea. And why is it Ricky who cries the most? Go Jillian!

What do you think?

Who else is a BRAVO junkie?!

To all the Homies that wanted me to bite them for losing so much weight ya'll will be happy to hear that yesterday I lost nothing!

The doctor said I have soft tissue in my throat (because I'm fat) and asked if I snored. I asked my daughter last night when I picked her up from her basketball game if she could hear me snore at night. She said they could hear me from China. BTW, her team won the game 29-3. I asked how they got the 3, kick a field goal? When you stop breathing it shuts of air to the lungs and it sends a message to the brain to wake up. Well I get that message 200 times a night so I toss and turn and never get enough sleep. It can actually cause heart attacks and sudden death for old fat guys like me. Some healthy football player died from it. One of the guys at work did the sleep lab the night before and found he has it. He is going to do the surgery. Surgery has a 70% chance of working and the forced air masks have a 100%. I'm going to do the lab and find out how bad I am. This usually is a man thing like being color blind or left handed. I'm both so I likely have this too.

I'm really ashamed of the commercial I was in. They created a character at my job called Kandu. It started by them sending all the employees a round, yellow, fuzzy ball with little cardboard feet, antennae, and the googly eyes they use in lots of crafts.

It looks like Mac puts the Homies to bed every night then I wake them up. So, "Good morning, Homies!"

it is a good thing, a very good thing to have someone wake us up in the morning. you are hired for the job fletcher. now realize if anyone oversleeps and gets fired due to that, it's your butt on the line.....
will be spending the day googling for commercials.......;)

i would tell you to think twice and then again before you do the surgery.
you are not totally asleep during it and know what is going on all the time.

you will lose weight after the surgery as you can't eat for some days.

and the kicker is, it is not always the answer to sleep apnea.

don't worry about not losing weight yesterday. being the homie i am, i lost some for you...:rolleyes1

congrats to your dd! what a winner!

morning, getting ready to grab an blankie & crawl on the big comfy couch (anyone remember that pbs show?) late for my 1st one, ds usually has brought me home a bug from skool by sept

idol good, thought 1st night better; even law & order held my interest. I miss 24 wonder if he's done doing his DUI sentence

he started to serve his jail time of 90 days prior to christmas. that way he would be able to be back on the set in february when production started up again. perfect timing on his part. i watched that on E news in december..

and as good as you are to your son and he gives you a bug.......that's a son for you. feel better real soon janet.

Hi coastermom!
:welcome: :welcome:
We are a friendly bunch here. Feel free to stop in and chat whenever!

Another peep from the northeast. Sigh. I'm still in the minority.

:guilty: Sorry. I'll do better next time. Can I send the kids to you when they pitch a hissy fit?

Is hissy fit a southern thing? Do people have hissy fits elsewhere in the world? I mean, I know they have them... but do you call it that? :confused3

Oh, please tell me you have a picture. Somewhere. Anywhere. PLEASE! :lmao:

not a southern thing. hissy fits are world wide.
it happens a lot with children and blondes.
we used the word hissy fit where i grew up in southern illinois.
you know it's in the north but they all talk like hicks there.
could never figure out why river rat people talked with an accent....

send the boys to me.
i'll feed them good stuff while we watch AI.
as long as there are no diapers, i'm good to go with them.

I got my W2s e-mailed to me! :yay: :yay:

E-filing FTW!

i see your countdown is drawing closer...........will you take pics again on this trip?

ME TOO! Ours is May 8th. If we don't kill each other by then.....

mine is april 28

I actually am looking forward to getting ours this year as well. I won't get into what happened last year. Let's just say when you're DINKs, it is best to file your W4 as "married but withhold at the higher single rate." :rolleyes1

Anyway, GOOD MORNING, homie-ritos and homie-ritas!!!

i love the new words you made up!
i figure the boys are the O and the girls are the A.....
ok, what do i win?

so you are really an AI hater. join the thread in the cb.......

i like the loser shows they have in the beginning.
and then i like the final 10 portions.
and its the only time son sleeps so i love watching tv in that time period.

Meet location, hmmmm

maybe we should think of places that would be halfway for the majority of us.
if you wanted to do a summer meet, come to chgo.
do a day at six flags and a day at the outlet up here.
and then the chgo tourist sites.

tennessee is kewl. they have decent weather and have been there before.
when i lived in the s. illinois area would go down to nashville and memphis to explore.
tell me where and when and i'll be there.

Oh, c'mon now ... I'd love Chattanooga. I would have no excuse for visiting my in-laws then in TN. That would make for the perfect DISmeet. :scared1: If we get to vote, I am voting for Hershey Park. I'm just saying.

Go figure.

your bil and sil can name the baby anything they want.
we have already named her.
half want tink
half want belle

i love coffee.
i love it more than food.

this is news for you.

:thumbsup2

i'm thinking about you penny. take care of yourself. i'm sure now is not the time to job hunt with your injury.
think of it this way, maybe this will be the only time of your life where you can look out the window at the snow and not have to drive in it each morning for work.

keep us posted on how you are healing.

Woot! Looking forward to this in April! Hopefully, The Simpsons will at least be in a soft opening by late April too.

i thought simpson ride was to be ready for spring break time.

Woot! Looking forward to this in April! Hopefully, The Simpsons will at least be in a soft opening by late April too.

Check out Simpsons if ya can...haveta let Ma know what to expect..... (she's got bad back, shoulder, hip, you name it :headache: )

Um, does it count if the only way the man can read the Epcot map is if he's holding it upsidedown?

no...driving....

I'm not sharing ANY food with any animal that licks their butt :scared:

Well for the third time now I have gone through and had everything clicked to respond to and have been interupted. I have to leave and can't respond but wanted to let everyone know I have been on and read. My sister called and is sick, almost passed out taking her shower this morning. Unfortunately today is her day to pick up adds for her magazine so I am going to go do it for her. Will try to respond this evening if I have time.

Have a great day everyone.

Sorry to hear that Lori...you are a good sister for helping yours out  We know you read...maybe just write notes on a paper and reply and address what notes you've written?? :confused3 Hope your sister feels better and you have a good day too :goodvibes

The ONLY thing I hate about snow days is they call at 5:30am to let you know school is canceled. Then, I'm too awake to go back to sleep....so, on a day I could sleep in, I'm up even earlier :headache: Besides, I hate when they add days on at the end of the year....summer seems to start when he is done skool..... :woohoo: Don't want to cut into my "summer" time :sad2:

We call them Q-tips here, among other things. Why do old people, mostly women, want to drive the honkin big cars that they can't even park, never mind see over the steering wheel?! :confused3 :rotfl:

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: Now I will always think of YOU when I use q-tips....

And, why is it the older you get, everything gets smaller EXCEPT your car??? Why must old people have HUGE ole Caddy's???? :confused3

We went to NH for a wedding when I was pregnant....drove the RENTAL car up Mt. Washington  :lmao: Same thing...NO guiderails, driving to edge of the road...DH later admitted he was scared outta his mind! (Was cool tho! I recommend it to anyone!)

Owwww, I love that trip up the mountain? Did you get the bumper sticker they used to give out. It's a real trip coming down isn't it. They just had a contest here to pick a new kitty to live at the observation tower at the top. The previous kitty was very popular with the visitors. He would eat hotdogs right out of your hand. Did you see the Cog Railway train? That's a fun ride too. My first visit was with my very first serious boyfriend back in high school. I still have the photos we took! Mt. Washington is about 1 1/2 hours from my house. To get there you have to go thru North Conway were they have some wonderful outlet stores. Its not the stores so much, as the scenery surrounding them. Beautiful little town.

[Uh....(never been, forgive the question), but ain't that like the safari at AK? :confused3

Kinda....not.

We always had more taken out...figured if we could live with less, getting more back was a bonus! Didn't know I wuz homies with a DINK??

DH is self employed. We have to save the money ourselves. I hate it. Just mailed in a quarterly payment this week.

Your sister is lucky to have you!

I found this nanner for Joshua and Fbean.....
BannanaMario.gif
Mario rocks!!!!

I can't wait to show Joshua the Mario 'nana!

He's next door playing Super Smash Bros with Carol.

Um, does it count if the only way the man can read the Epcot map is if he's holding it upsidedown?

I would say... YES.

otherwise known as "temper tantrum" too?? Go ahead...send 'em to House of Bubba....they will NEVER have one again....promise ;)

Not quite a temper tantrum. Temper tantrums are strictly kids. All ages can have a hissy fit. Or a conniption fit. It's a pissy/pouty/mouthy combination. Like, say, Janet will probably throw a hissy fit when she takes her computer in for repairs again... as an example.

Been there. Understand completely. Have a good day.

Oh, and what kind of mag does your sister have? :confused3

With the way your year is startin' out, maybe ya want to take care of that and not let it to "chance"? :confused3

Hmmm... good point. We'll see how things are tomorrow.

Yep...I'd agree with ALL that....but, then again, watchin annoying people 'voluntarily' spilling their guts is funny!!! And, yeah...how much was that watch again??? Btw, makes you wonder, if they have all this money and are SO happy, how much are they being paid to do that series?? :scratchin

Yep...I have the bumpersticker (didn't think it was a good idea to attach it to our rental car  :rotfl: ). We listened to the 'tape' on the way up....could FEEL it getting colder.... Shorts at the bottom, sweats up top  We didn't see the kitty...but I think we saw the train... (you're talking 10 years ago here.....)

It is a view (& I still have my pix) I'll never forget :cloud9:
