Hi guys! Quick stop-by here too! Yeah, we had fun on Black Friday, but the learning point is never again Toys R Us. Not sure if Best Buy would have been worse (didn't want to find out!), but everywhere else we were in and out in less than 15 minutes. Toys R Us has it set up so you kind of have to meander through the entire store to get to electronics or the checkout. Luckily we didn't need a cart so DH followed the meandering and got in line and I dodged the "Toys R Us Cops" and ducked through the aisles to electronics.

But it took us 5 minutes to get everything we wanted and then we were in a line that took an hour. I quickly decided it was pointless for both of us to be there and opted to run to Target. In the 30 degree weather. In complete darkness at 5:15 am. Crossing 5 lanes of traffic with no light nearby. With tons of traffic at that time trying to get in and out of the shopping center. Dressed COMPLETELY in black - including my coat, pants, and shoes! I bought everything we needed there and checked out, used the restroom, and ended up sitting and waiting for DH still (should have brought the car!). In retrospect we realized that out of the 9 things we bought at TRU, exactly ZERO were for OUR kids - rest were for relatives. Should have just skipped it!

Another weird travel story for you along the lines of the challenging hybrid rental car! DH went to a hotel a few weeks ago (and he travels a LOT so has been to a zillion hotels) and stayed in one for the first time that required you to use your key card to turn on the lights (and leave it inserted for them to stay on)! If you took it out, no lights for you! Obviously to keep you from losing the key card, but still, a lot of the time if just he and I travel, we'd never think to get 2 cards. Then if one of us wanted to go somewhere while the other was in the room, you couldn't bring the card - mostly a problem if you wanted to go to the pool or somewhere that required it. Never heard of this before!

Pics are loaded, but too late tonight to get them all into photobucket - maybe tomorrow.

Did I mention that on our drive we got less than an hour from home before our "Check Engine Soon" light came on? And our temperature gauge stopped working? And the fuel gage? (Okay, that one's not new - it rarely works and I'm not paying another $400 to have it replace like I did a few years ago). Dropped the car off tonight and we'll see what they have to say tomorrow. Minivan's getting near 150K on it so unfortunately I'm just betting it won't be an easy or cheap fix! I'll let you know!

There's just not enough of me to go around these days. DH's schedule at work has gotten a lot crazier and the kids are...well they are kids and they need me a lot these days. marcie has been living in the car again, janet is running away from home to go ride a big boat, the beans mom/tracie, planned a romantic get away for her anniversary but now they are taking the beans so they won't have anymore beans, sharon loves christmas, tricia has naked boys jump on her bed and she fell asleep, it might have been the booze in her, katie starfish decorated her house with lights so well none of us will post our pics as hers shows us up, jodie is mia, her kitty vanessa passed away before tday, and now i have to send out one more pm. bbl

Barb still hasn't got Bubba's Santa list? What is up with that kid? I guess she's going to have to take him to the mall and get right up there with them and listen.

DM was robbed??? That's terrible! My DH had a birthday this month too. It was on the 16th. Don't tell, but it was the last one in the thirties..... My poor fella....he hit a deer with his car on Saturday night. He was about it! He loves his car almost as much as he loves me! We're just hoping that the body shop will do us right...we talked to the insurance company and the body shop today to make sure that they go back with OEM parts. It's a Mustang Cobra, so it would be a terrible thing if they put regular Mustang parts on it! We went today and picked up a rental car and I'm the one driving it. DH is driving mine while his is in the shop. It's hard to get used to driving something different, but I kind of like this little car.

Don't worry...i figured it out.... he's only asked for a couple of things, but, we spent a lot of money and don't have much to show for it (And, his birthday is January! )

I had no idea I got a new tag. I went to bed with one old tag, and I wake up this morning with a new tag about my long facial hair!

I know the rules. If you post it on the Community Board, you are always at risk that the Tag Fairy may grab a quote and tag you with it. I will accept my obscene hair tag and be happy about it.

We went to see Santa - the Saks at the mall by our house supports Make-A-Wish and all the proceeds go to that. We have photo buttons of the boys back to when the youngest was 6 months old (I'll trying to scan them once we get all our Christmas stuff out!). Here's the shot we took while they took the photo button one:

And DS15 a second later - dying because his knees hurt from kneeling on the tile! He asked DH to give him a nearby pillow to kneel on, but since we were at Saks, when DH looked at the pillow and saw the $168 price tag he decided DS could kneel on the floor for 30 seconds!:
