The catch 22 starts there..She is 18 so right off jumpstreet she will move out. There is no telling were that will lead her!!!:confused3

Its alot diff these days..I was on my own when I was 16,but im a male for females its alot harder.I've seen this when I moved out..

All in all she is a good kid.I just dont know about the peeps she hangs with..

More gray hair!!

Welllll... dear Donald. At this age, you've done your raising my friend. Now it's time to set her on the edge of the nest. She'll fall, no doubt, but until she does, she'll never learn what it's like to be an adult, pick HERSELF up and fly.

your other choice is to get some horse grade chloroform and build a tornado shelter away from the neighbors and keep her locked away until she's 60 :rotfl:

KIDDING!!!!!

Love the pics scotlass,I want too visit soo bad!!

Todd that ampitheater is gonna sound great compared too a open stage!!
I love the pictures too...I really want to go to Europe someday and do a castle tour.

Yeah...I think new stage area is gonna be fantastic!

 After getting rates for Uni/Disney next year and all but putting down some money, my hubby put the nix on it, too.

He says he has no desire to return after only one year.:confused3

I guess that leaves us being responsible Adults and paying down our debt.

:scratchin Maybe I can still talk him into a beach vaca in a couple of months.:beach:
pixiedust:  i'll cry with u, maybe it'll work out...perhaps too soon after last trip, may have a change of heart afterall

we tend to spend almost as much on a weeklong beach trip as a value stay @ WDW, ergo the reason we head a bit further south
I sure love to be there right now!!

Got the 1'st estimate on the caddy my DD hit Friday,$2700!!
Finnegans and alot of cold ones right now sure sounds good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
caddy parts r ridiculous, i spent over $500 on a tail light couple years ago:confused3 (not including labor)

todd - that picture does hit the spot! thanks...wonder if i start driving now how soon i could belly up to the bar:lmao: no, a table, ladies sit @ tables;)

Oh yea I gotcha now :cool1:

Have any of the homies ever heard of a teen organization called YoungLife?

My DD15 is in it--and I used to attend a church where the Pastor was really into Young Life--he used to be a young life pastor. This is her 1st year and I had been warned by another parent that it really doesn't promote Christianity a lot--its a lot feel good with just a smattering thrown in so you don't scare anyone away.

6 months later and 1 weekend overnighter in Erie and I think she is right. But at least its an organized activity with a decent group of kids and it doesn't cost me anything.;)

Donald tell your daughter smoking causes wrinkles--that'll scare her not the dying from cancer part.

Keisha heading up to Pitts on Friday to go to Whole Foods--hoping to find me some cheap Steelers stuff--maybe head to the Strip District--last time they were in the Super Bowl, I found some good stuff down there. Might be heading to Uniontown some time in the future--we got a prom flier from there that had "the" dress and even though she is a Freshman, she thinks she's going....princess:

Night...and I can finally admit to you all that we rode so many coasters over the holiday that I pinched a nerve in my neck and just today can feel my fingers in my right arm without pain...But I would do it all again tomorrow:p

Hi everyone! It's been hectic here and we've found new forums for service academy students, parents, and wanna-be's, so we've been hanging out there a lot, since it's all coming up really quickly. Unfortunately more quickly than a Disney (or Uni) trip evidently!

Just wanted to let you all know that Stephen (middle DS) got his driving permit on Friday so he's legal now! :drive: Well, with us in the car. I took him out yesterday for the first time (all kinds of fun on the snow/ice covered roads as you saw!) and we managed to accomplish a 4 way stop sign, a roundabout (traffic circle - they're big here in Wisconsin), and speeds up to 25 mph! :rotfl: :cheer2:

Yes...I did YL when I was in high school. It was a lot of fun!

I didn't know if any of the homies had any children in it or if they experienced it. My kids love it, they just got home from it.

It's so unique, but Minniejack your right christianity is in there, but not a lot. YL is mostly based on keeping kids out of trouble in our area. The YL here averages 300 people a club and they are all real big partyers sadly:sad2:

Hey, beloved Peeps.

Thanks for all the well wishes and empathy about the non-trip. Minnie Jack, we'll have to share our home reports in the TR section, just to make ourselves happy about being mature and responsible. Like that's any fun.

I'm feeling much happier, thanks to a great friend who just knew what I needed and made my week. She's really cool and remembers all kinds of details about me that I don't even remember talking about. I love friends like that!

Scotlass, LOVE THE PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a bit of an obsession with the European Renaissance. I asked DH if we could go to a Ren Faire since we don't get to go to the Darkside. I already have my SCOTTISH peasant dress, and he has a tavern keeper's costume. Funny, we don't drink.... I'll have to get threads for the kids. Someday I'll cross the pond and see it all for real. Hopefuly before that volcano wakes up again and buries Edinburgh. I just watched Elizabeth: The Golden Age last night, so I really want to bury my nose in the history books again the way I used to before I had so much laundry to do. Sigh....

Donald, maybe you coudl just freeze-dry your daughter until she's 30 or so. Keep the brain active so she can mature, but freeze dry the rest of her so she can't DO anything worrisome. She'll thank you later.

Good morning homies!!

Sorry about all the ranting last night, not my style..

Have a great day all...

For Mac, Janet, Donald, Bonny and who ever else is feeling home sick:

I love this place.....thanks SO much Metro!!! :flower3:

Good morning homies!!

Sorry about all the ranting last night, not my style..

Have a great day all...

We are all entitled to rant.....really....don't apologize! Tell your daughter that if she wants to ruin her life with cigarettes (speaking from experience here - me, not my daughter) fine. But it is not permitted in your home or your cars.

Tami and minniejack - how about a home improvement threat and circicelli(?) too - you know before and after pics. We loves pics here

scotlas - love the pictures. The castle is breathtaking!

is it Dave(?) - sorry - temporary brain fart :) Love the picture of the son and his GF. Glad everything is working out.....just tell him not to flip while they are on a break if he sees other guys talking to her.....that will not make getting back together any easier (if she feels "smothered", jealousy may make it worse) I hope the track coach makes an allowance for him to come back. Keep us posted!

Hey youse.....

Cool youse liked the pic's and Dalhousie Castle is now a hotel so COME ON OVER...THE MORE THE MERRIER !!

Funny story - On one of our trips we were waiting in a HUGE line for Space Mountain. We passed the same family all the way round and got talking. It turns out they had been to Scotland the year before so i asked where they stayed. The Mum said it was in a Castle in a very small place out side Edinburgh and I would never have heard of it...yep thats right...Dalhousie Castle !!

" Its a small world after all !! "

Mr Duck - sorry i missed your Birthday, and Im glad DD is ok after her accident.

Taminator - Sad we wont meet in October. Maybe next time.

Marcie - Youse guys have roundabouts. If you ask any UK driver its the one thing we dont get about US roads. If you miss a turn off you can go for miles but if youse had round about you just..well..turn round !!

Here are some basement pics..it's gonna be a long road I think!!! My DH is doing the work on his own!!

Speaking of farts, here's one I heard on the radio this a.m.

You think this recession is bad? Tiny Tim was so poor, he had to put a fart in his pocket just to get a "cent"...

:)

i've never done Whole Foods...too far & im too cheap;) more of a SAMS club/Strip District type of gal...grab a primanti sammich :goodvibes & vist Fineberg's...they've got ALL the steelers gear:cheer2:

ive heard of the shop in Uniontown, supposed to be a biggie, another popular one in our area is somewhere up by Grove City-Sharon maybe?

sorry re ur neck, never fun to deal with-yikes

they fighting for the car yet:rotfl:

mac - ive printed off those tix before:thumbsup2 (always forget to use them, yet still print them lol)

good day all, im off to get my toe inspected, least i'll be home before the next storm hits, supposed to be another 1/2 a foot mixed in with ice storm...woo-hoo

Since having to be off wheat, we either have to buy online and order a ton or Whole Foods.
We've only been there once--prices weren't too bad, but cheaper than a store in McMurray that's closer to us.
This way I can try something without having to buy 6 at a time--some of the gluten free stuff out there is just plain nasty.:crazy2:

Just saw the new Coke ad with Polamalu just like the Mean Joe Green ad from the 70's--look for it Super Bowl night.:cool1:

:drive: I'm glad we took DD15 to Disney when she was little. She won't even open the driver's handbook because she "knows she'll be a terrible driver because she wrecked the old fashioned cars at Disney".:rotfl2:

she's just saving me some dough in the meantime and I get more parental control.:lmao:

thanks for all of the sympathy about a non-Uni trip--I'm using it to make DH feel guilty and change his mind

Anyone out there ever order custom slip covers? My old neighbor gave us a Madden couch from the 70's, barely used 'cause they kept it downstairs, but the cover leaves a lot to be desired. I called last summer for an estimate for recovering and the estimate was at least $3000

Awhile back, I saw a similar couch on ebay selling for $1,000 so I hate just to junk a good piece of furniture.

Went to the Pharmacy last night to get my vaccine for Hep A & B for when I am in Mexico....Our Drug Plan doesn't cover vaccines :sad2: oh well I will pay a couple hundred bucks to have the peace of mind that I should be safe from the food & water there!! ;)

Both boys think it is time to eat ALL the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies here!! It is only 10:15 am!!! :scared:

Doing :laundy: and clean up, don't really want to but thought I should since DH is busting his tail in the basement after work!! :rotfl:

NO MORE SNOW DAYS

DD15 came downstairs with these black leggings, leg warmers, shorts--she saw it in Teen Vogue and plans to wear it to school...

Now she just finished straigtening her brother's hair and wants to put eye liner on him..."Please you'll look just like Pete Wentz and he's hot..."

Gotta go, screaming and banging with her chasing him:lmao:

If it wasn't so icy out, I'd take them snowboarding, push them down the slope and run over and turn off the lift so they couldn't come home:upsidedow
