Today's the day....I will sit down with the boy and watch the most significant inauguration since JFK.



I dont do politics, and I've lived in a ridiculously white area my whole life but I have watched the significant changes your country has made in my lifetime.

This is a truly great day for your great country.



Im feeling better,Im still struggling with my appetite ( best diet EVER,Ive lost pounds !!) and the antibiotics but the pain is much better.

The boy has a Burns poem to recite at school today and he is sooooo excited.

Give that boy an audience and he's happy !!

Just checking in from work...we are all ready to watch the festivities in DC when they start. It looks really COLD up there! I can't imagine what must be going through Obama's mind right now...Michelle is probably a nervous wreck! Lord knows I would be.

Since I just paid off my son's cello, I was sitting there wondering how much that baby cost--probably worth a fortune.

Just makes me scared when he actually mentioned mines in his address--his track record isn't the greatest--coal supplies 52% of our nation's energy needs....

Hello all

Busy again both kids that were sick are now better . Just hope that nobody else gets it .

Kids and I have dentist tonight starting at 5 this should be FUN ...NOT

Just did 100 little things that needed to be done and fell like nothing is done .
My middle one made her big HS choice and is going to the same school as her big sis . So the end of this year will cost us ....ready 14,000 for two kids to go to HS ... .. Yes the public HS here is that bad and no I am not sure that I haven't lost my mind over how we are going to do this .

Did not watch anything about Obama today . Amazing how little I seem to care honestly I am more worried about how to fix the light in the car then this . Not into listening to this all day with it going to be on all night too .

Nice and cold here and I hope we get no more snow this week . These little snow showers are annoying .

How many more days till this ????

gotta run I need to finish the last load of and then I am going to scrap a page or two before the kids arrive home.

My high school honor student daughter got in the car today and I asked her if she watched the inauguration at lunch. "Uh, no, what's an inauguration?" This coming from the same kid who took the SAT a few years ago and qualified to go to some of the best schools in the country at the age of 13.

Then my son came home from middle school and I asked him if he had watched it. At least he knew what I was talking about.

I think this all goes back to teaching to the test--whatever happened to common sense and being in history not just reading about it???
