Good morning everyone!!!
Well my prayers were answered....we have a SNOW DAY!! And there is not a flake on the ground!
I'm hitting the mall for some Christmas shopping!
Lucky you! We have a LOT of flakes on the ground and not even a two hour delay! But they're just saying 5 inches now so I guess we just suck it up and deal with it! Just hope Matt's okay driving today - at least it's just to the high school (2 miles away)!
Mac - how goes it in your neck of the woods? Looks like the Fox Valley area (Appleton down to Fond du Lac) got hit the worst. Was it bad down there as well? Hoping at least that we're still just enough north of it to escape the bad storm. Talking to folks back in Detroit though, they're getting up to a foot and all schools are cancelled. I'm guessing that's what went through where you are!
DISCLAIMER: WRAPPING PRESENTS IS DANGEROUS!!!
Okay, the boys have been whining and whining about when we were going to wrap presents and get them under the tree. We usually do say roughly 10 (not-so-exciting) presents from us under the tree for them to open before hand (usually one a day and the rest on Christmas Eve), then they get their "good" presents from Santa on Christmas Day.
Since we're long past the Santa days, I asked if we could just wrap and put all presents under the tree and just save some for Christmas, but Eric stressed out about this idea. So I guess it's tradition.
Anyways, we sorted and wrapped all the presents from "us" last night. Sorting was the hard part since we'd been kind of sticking them on shelves, in the garage, in boxes in the basement, etc. to keep them hidden. I REALLY miss our old house with its walk in attic. So, first of all, as I reached up on a top wooden shelf with my hand to do a quick sweep and make sure there was nothing else up there, I got about a 1/2 inch sliver in my palm.

Thus diverting present wrapping for a half hour while using a needle and tweezers to pull it out small pieces at a time (actually 4!). And of course it was in my right hand so I'm using my left hand to do it. Ugh!
Well, then I think between bending over trying to do that (my eyes aren't up to that close work any more!

), lifting things up and down, and trying to sit on the floor and wrap, somehow my back was KILLING me by the time we were done. I don't normally (ever) have trouble with my back. I ended up taking tylenol 3 (w/ codeine) twice during the night while I just lay there trying to find a position to sleep in that wasn't excruciating. It feels a bit better this morning, but I'm not sure how much of that is the codeine, which I took a few hours ago for the second time. And I just KNOW that going out to shovel in a few minutes will really help!

I'm just hoping it gets better in time to go skiing Sunday since all the girlfriends are already planning on it! Eric has a doctor appt this afternoon anyways, so if it's not getting better by midday, I may ask and see if the doc can squeeze me in too!
On the plus side - at least I don't have to go to work today!

Have a great (if not snowy!) Friday!
