Something About Nothing............ #14

We leave early May, and I hope all is resolved by then too.

Was a glorious sunshine, blue skies day, and was a perfect one down the shore. Was high tide, we thought, when we arrived:

Boards were not too crowded, and forgot my hat, nose now pink. Oops, didn’t think to bring the suntan lotion either.

After a delicious pizza lunch, we came home with caramel corn buckets and a box of salt water taffy. Sadly, the macaroon place was only open on the weekends, and we’d rather visit on a week day. We decided to go again, at the end of next month, as more places will be open, as the official opening of our shore is Memorial Day weekend, and the parking fees start May 1st.

But Thirsty Thursday it was, as all had that venti sized drinks for the way down.

And, with that gorgeous blue skies today, we get a rainy overnight, giving us around a half inch of rain, and dropping the temp for our Friday. But then a cool feeling, but with glorious sunshine all day again, Saturday. High is 42 that day. At least Sunday will have more clouds and ten degrees warmer than Saturday. And, if we didn’t have enough rain, predicting rain the first days of April. Yeah, I know the saying April showers bring May flowers. But, nice to have days like today, warm and sunny 😎.

Hope all are surviving this week, the last full one in March already. Be happy, the week days end tomorrow, so have a terrific Thirsty Thursday today.

TGIF!

Yay, it’s a Friday, and that cool weather is still around. Did a gas fill up and another Target run, and that wind. Little brr from me.

Tomorrow, that little brr will continue, as 43 the high. Though some of the clouds will disappear and glorious sunshine all day Saturday. Kids are doing a Pokemon meet up in the one local park. They better bundle up.

Haircut next week, and I’m so ready for it. Sometimes I think the cut lasts longer than other times. Will schedule the next one a few days before our next trip. Yay, now only around 6 weeks away. Then told little one, since she has a pass for that other Disney park, we should do another cross country trip in the fall or early Xmas time, as it’s been almost ten years since I was there. I guess if we can snag those oogie tickets, it will be a fall trip. If we aren’t so lucky, then looking forward to that holiday season out there. But want to do that HHN at USO, this fall, so that hotel already booked. Will have to see if some Disney party there too, as may want to go there first. Have to discuss with little one and older one to see how many of us are going at that time. At least my AP gives me a free HHN ticket. Will have to see if it is valid during the time I booked, but I assume so, as all of September was available last year. Will have to see when they open those reservations, like they had last year. See they released the tickets and tours already.

Hope all have a nice Friday night and a most wonderful weekend. Wee next week we get to see April arrive, with the first days predicted to be rainy days, including the first day of the week after, Easter Sunday.

Let the fools enjoy this coming Wednesday, lucky 🍀 camel.

Either of those times would be an awesome time to go. I would like to go back again, but WDW is just so much more cost effective for me.

I forgot to tell a funny story from last week. I recently started a free trial of Apple Music so I added several new songs to my phone. We were listening on the drive to the zoo. It was almost to the end of Midnight Blue when suddenly Never Gonna Give You Up started playing. B looked at me and asked "Did we just get rick rolled by your phone?"

I don't remember if I mentioned that dh will be presenting at a conference in Atlanta in a couple of weeks. We are going to stay with my brother while we are there. His 70th birthday is at the end of April so my sister and I are going to take him to dinner for an early birthday. Today my SIL told me that he had chosen a seafood restaurant. When I told my sister she informed me that her daughter does not like seafood. Well, too bad. It's not her choice. My niece has always been like this. No matter what we choose she finds fault with it. It's going to be a long night. Unfortunately B has to work that weekend and won't be able to come with us.

It's getting late and I should probably go to bed. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Warmed up a bit today, yea! So over winter cold.

Tomorrow the Mr & I have our joint “wellness” appt and our 6 month checkups at our doctors. We prefer to do it all at one to be done with it. 1st ones in the door, gives time for the long drive to the farm store to grab our Easter ham & some of their special stuff.

Should be able to twist the Mr’s arm to kill some time at the Bealls store in the area if I dangle lunch at the tasty diner there. Another beautiful day ahead of us, he’ll be itching to putz in the yard.

How nice to live within driving distance of the ocean.
Sometimes I think the cut lasts longer than other times.
I’m convinced mine grows faster in the summer

Distinctly remember sitting in room @ OKW (on multiple devices) over a 4th of July trip. Funny, the hoops we gladly jump thru to enjoy thru parks.

Was in the queue for hours waiting to buy ours, got everything we wanted though. Their version is so chill, can walk up a few min ahead of time to get a parade spot. Try that @ WDW lol
When I told my sister she informed me that her daughter does not like seafood.
Um, I’d be willing to bet the menu offers a vegan, pasta, chicken, steak and probably pork entree; even a soup & dinner salad options. if she has a shellfish allergy (vs a personal preference) any restaurant worth its salt will prepare an allergy grill to cook a meal, especially with advance notice.

I’d send her a link to the menu so the princess can set her expectations accordingly lol

I keep having to push my appointment back. The doctor that owns the practice I go to has sold the practice and now all of the nurse
practitioners that work there have to be re-credentialed with all of the insurance companies. They currently aren't able to bill insurance.

I did send her a link to the restaurant menu. They have plenty of options other than seafood. My niece doesn't have any allergies. She is just a very spoiled child. She's 24, but still behaves like a child sometimes. My sister pretty much lets her run the household.

Great news at our house. B has been offered an internship. It's at her second choice though. She needs to confirm by the end of the week. She's going to wait a few days and see if her first choice makes an offer. If not, she will accept the one that offered.

Yay for B, Charade. I hope her first choice dies come to fruition.

Ah, the sound of trash cans as sunshine has been pouring through my windows.

Older one said he wants to again join little one’s and I Monday breakfast at that Jewish diner. Little one is the latest up, as thankfully their breakfast, while breakfast food is available all the time they are open, they run discounts breakfast meals on week days, they make it very economical, as they always serve a large amount of food. And, the one place we sometimes have scraps for DH, who never likes to eat out, now.

Monday morning, good morning all.

Today B was offered the other internship. Now she is not sure which to accept. Her second choice told her that she may have the opportunity to participate in some living history events and she really likes that idea.
I suggested she make a list of pros and cons first each. She needs to decide by the end of the week.

Sweet, that both came available to her, Charade. At least I don’t think she could go wrong with her pick.

Ah, was a beautiful 78 degree day, and the shorts and t shirts were the dress today. And camel gets to enjoy that temp tomorrow too, though with some afternoon rain. Shorts on tomorrow too. Yay! But then pants for Thursday, as goes down to 58 the high, but then 76 and 81 ends this week. Yay! Shorts most of this week. Woot!

Kids wanted to go to the far outlets, so was a fast and mostly uneventful ride, with construction blocking to one lane as part of the two way highway to the one line road we go to get there. Disney Store had a lot of Disneyland items, which I thought was interesting. Only little one scored shorts and a matching sweatshirt with Nike swish on both. But first we went to the Adidas store, where socks, sneakers, and older one scoring some shorts. After Disney, went to Under Armor, where only little one and I scored pants and shorts. Like their shorts, as the one I like there has pockets. Hard to find, particularly on women’s shorts. Then went to Nike, as saw nothing. Picked up coffee, before we got on that 2 lane highway, that hooks up with three then two lane highway where it goes to the huge mall, where we had a late lunch at the Yard House there. Then, turnpike back home.

No one was that hungry for dinner, so grilled cheese, with pickles was our dinner, with DH eating little one’s scraps from her lunch.

Older one wanted to see the new Mario movie, so booked our seats for Thursday, as my hair salon visit is later tomorrow afternoon, and any movie time tomorrow would make getting to my appointment would be hard, so Thursday, worked out better, and older one did not mind seeing that movie the day after it opens. So, little one and I are joining him. Usually, a kids movie is not a long as other movies, so I’m game, and we all saw the other Mario movie when it came out. Seri says 6 minutes longer than the older movie, in 2023, so few minutes longer than an hour and a half. Not too bad. Though with almost a half hour of previews, before the movie start. Two hours at the theater. But at least with bought seats, we usually arrive during the previews. And, discounts for earlier shows, so a late lunch or early lunch that day.

But yay, tomorrow is the middle of the week, and don’t forget to not fall for those April fools’ day fools, as tomorrow, yay, starts the next month of April. The most expensive month, given property taxes, local, state and federal income taxes we get to pay.

Good evening all. Camel 🐫 is ready to greet everyone tomorrow. Even with some rain we get. And I’ll be enjoying my pampering salon visit later that afternoon, most likely in the rain.
