Something About Nothing............ #14

I'm the kind of traveler who stays at the literally cheapest Disney hotel, monitors prices on flights and hotels, doesn't check bags or buy seats to save money, and then buys premier passes, lol.
No right or wrong way to do the parks IMO.

We have (& still do often stay @ both park’s value resorts). I’ve always had a travel budget (imaginary or not) that I stretch ‘till it screams.

Life is all about balance

Waiting at the eye doctor for dh's post op appointment. Everything has gone well with the surgery. We are just having issues with our FSA right now.

Heat advisory issued today.
I am so over this heat. We are supposed to have a couple of cooler days this weekend.

Hey all, had an unexpected family health issue crop up. Sigh. Long treatment plan in place. Have processed it now, I’m the go-to support person. They are stoic, thus I will be too; brighter days ahead.
Hope everything goes well with the treatment.

Wow, he ripened already. Seems so young
He's 62. I though that was a bit young too.

One of those dishes that never, ever, has come out right for me.
This is the recipe I use. I also add cubed ham to the recipe

So, lasik or a lens sort of thing? DiL had a really high correction, first correction didn’t quite get her there. Planning for a revision.
They're called light adjustable lenses. He will go back to the doctor in a couple of weeks and have his vision fine tuned with light. Once all this is over he should no longer need glasses.
Unfortunately this considered elective surgery so insurance won't pay.

This sounds like me except I have a credit card with my airline so I don't pay to check my first bag and I don't pay extra to pick my seat. There is only 1 airline that flies out of my city, so I always use the same airline.

I am still hoping for a September trip, but hotel rates are higher then I expected.

Good morning everyone

So nice that you were able to have some quality family time and some reminiscing. Just sorry that it had happened because of a funeral.
It was a quick trip, but was glad to be able to make contact, check up and spend time with family members.

Yes, funerals and weddings seem to be the time we see extended family members. Thinking I need to work on changing that.

Sorry to hear you had a family health emergency crop up. It can be nerve racking trying to move heaven and Earth to make sure your family gets the care they need, as well as being stoic on the outside when inside you are terrified at the time and needing a good cry.

Sending lots of prayers your way all goes well.

Robbie thot of you when in Marshall’s & TJ Maxx this weekend, lots of Halloween stuff. Made me miss Big Lots, they always had something or other interesting. I did order this off Amazon to put on our garage doors. Clearly printed on heavy material with grommets on the bottom where we can string a support/some weights to keep them from fluttering. Came today, surprisingly nice for a whopping $16
You know me well….LOL….I have already been to Marshall’s, TJ Maxx and HomeGood’s.

While my sister K and I were on the our family visit trip we did run into a HomeGood’s and TJ Maxx store up by where our dad lives. The HomeGood’s store there was stocked to the brim with Halloween items.

I did pick up two Sanderson Sisters decorative pillows for granddaughters Halloween decorations. I also bought a new table cloth for dining room table and some place mats and a metal Pumpkin I’am going to put some twinkle lights in.

Guess that thought of not buying more Halloween decorations for me this year has officially gone out the window…...LOL

Nice find on Amazon on what appears to be Old World Halloween Decor. I’am seeing more of the old world designs this year in Halloween decor.

I love the first pic of the lady with the parasol on the high wire with the Gator waiting for her to fall……scary indeed.

I noticed the inclusion of Pinks and Lavender colors in the Halloween decorations this year. Some of the designs are interesting, Just not my traditional Halloween color palate.

Pretty much all of my decorations for Halloween are in the traditional black, orange colors.

I was impressed with Daytona’s version too. Nice shirt. Only thing I bought was a goofy looking bucee beaver thing that goes around my seat belt so it doesn’t choke me. Was bought on a whim as GD said I “had” to get something. Turns out one of my best recent purchases, it makes me smile every time I get into the car.

Now I’am going to have to look at those the next time I’am in Buc-ee’s.

The pressure from the seatbelt presses on my collarbone no matter how I adjust it.
A few years ago Walmart sold Velcro secured padded seat belt surrounds. They were on an end cap in the children’s section. I bought those and they are wonderful

My younger sister K has a friend that makes padded quilted things and she had her make me a padded seat belt surround a few years ago and I wore that one out.

If I could transfer some of the fat from my butt to my collarbone I might not have that problem….LOL…

LOL indeed, it’s going down in my mind as one of my better what was I thinking moments.
For sure frame that photo. It is proof you have the courage of a lioness.

I bet! Not sure how to put it, some people seem to be really good @ funerals. They know what to say, do and always seem at ease. I dread going to them & find them terribly stressful, always have.
I’am not sure there is ever the perfect right thing to say at funerals for sure. Especially when it is a family members spouse who has died to young or a young child etc… At this stage in my life I think just a hug and saying I love you to family members is all that needs to be said.

My cousin was truly touched by all her family members who showed up to hug her and give her support.

The outdoor dining at the French cafe looks so much like a real cafe in Paris that it's very tempting, but I do have to remember it will be about 90 degrees.

Keeping true to the Parisian theme of dining outside at quaint Cafes in Paris, it was nice Universal included outdoor seating at the Cafe in the new Potter park at Epic.

It you decide to sit outside and it gets hot you can always go back in.

Like Keshashadow said it is not a large outdoor seating space, but I could see the attraction of it. Watching folks walk by and enjoying the incrediable Architecture of the buildings they created for this World.

``We are getting cooked here like most of the US….Predicted reprieve coming in the next couple of days with storm front moving in that is supposed to bring a little cooler temps if it happens.

Mac hope you are doing well……You are missed.

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone doing whatever makes you happy.

Keisha, we have a hepa filter on our ac/heater, and DS stayed inside most of the day. Was so hot feeling, didn’t even take a walk outside at lunchtime. We get a repeat tomorrow, before rain on Thursday and Friday, lowers the temp over 10 degrees for the weekend. And yeah, our days of SW may be numbered after our last of booked trips that were made before that end of May change. American, Delta and those other bargain airlines we will start to price compare. Sigh. Was a good thing for years when SW came to town.

Ac still running. Low tonight is 78 degrees. Oddly, my phone keeps warning me of Orlando heat advisory. Guess my heat advisories are not as exciting. Lol Guess it thinks I’m in Orlando too much. Hehe.

Good night all. Time to dream of that mid week feeling tomorrow. And night light on, no stubbed toes, please, everyone.

An, just as warm as Orlando. 96 the high, with the sun is already out and glorious sunshine most of the day, and oh so humid as I walked outside, with it already 80 degrees at 5:15 this morning. But we will pay for these days of so hot and humid, with 0.65 inches of rain to fall before the day ends tomorrow. And, 75 the high on a rainy predicted Friday. Quite the weather summer rollercoaster to end this week.

But yay, where are we now in this last week of July? Mid week already! Woot! And who do we see?

IMG_4350.jpeg

Ah yes, when it’s hot out, the beach is a great place to be. And yay, it’s the last Wednesday in July, with the end of this week being the start of August. You know, as we get over this hump of a day feeling Wednesday, and then that most fabulous start of August is a day away, this Friday.

Yay, office fun at the beach tomorrow. And while I still have to finish my week day routine on Friday, hoping many take this Friday off, given the free fun beach day tomorrow, thus, so hoping a very quiet office this pay day Friday.

Woot! August is five extended family birthdays, including little one’s and mine. Woot! And ending that next month with extended fun into the middle of that month after. Yay! Fall fun getting that ever much closer, with lots of nighttime events. When it’s stinking hot, those afternoon thunderstorms, still make those evenings very warm feeling down there. Have always kept my shorts and t shirts on every evening time I’ve had an event, even through October. When later in October, I thought well should wear pants. Nope, learned my lesson that night years ago. Sweaty and feeling overheated? Silly me. The only time I was glad to be wearing pants was mid December, when a colder feeling night was for our all fun night, where we almost wished we had gloves. That month and the next, January, we have been seen to be wearing our winter coats on a day or two. Those two months, any day or a few days, you can see it getting much cooler during the day and nights. But then, those shorts come out, during the day, when it’s that lovely, usually less humid, mostly warm holiday time in Orlando area.

Ah, back to my week day routine I go. At least I can say such will not be said, by the end of this year. Woot! Two fun times before that day, I say, I’m now in that lady of leisure time. Woot!

Most Wonderful Wednesday to all.

And stay cool, and hydrated. That muggy hot for my area and the Orlando area, please take care to stay healthy. Keep drinking water, and finding the AC to cool down in. Like the AC in my office. Almost ready to put on my sweater open front jacket. It’s almost too cold, which will then make it feel even hotter when I leave in that highest temp later afternoon.

Good morning. :surfweb:
