Thanks for all the good wishes, means a lot to me. Still feel as tho I’ve been hit by that proverbial truck and weak, doing the PT/conditioning. seeing improvement, slowly but surely. Having trips planned is a powerful carrot.

Got clearance to fly end of May for the Mr’s surprise 70th BD trip that was on the fence, dependent upon the follow up xray this week. It’s becoming difficult to keep it on the QT, emails coming in etc

So good to hear you got flight clearance and your surprise trip for hubby is going to happen.

I had just booked a hotel we like @ Ormond Beach to start out our 4th of July trip with the ‘lil, to accommodate the Buc-ees run. Insert rolling eyes here lol. A couple of days later, the influencers slammed the ‘net with their videos and the ‘lil started her unofficial campaign to visit Epic. Never asked outright, never saw so many videos of a park sent to me either hahahaha

Yes, I saw all the influencers at Epic Universe on youtube. Never knew there were so many of them. I have watched a few of them since my younger sister K told be about them a few years ago.

They were all wowed by Epic Universe.

As you say Orlando for sure is a buffet. Something for everyone. No need for competition.

Of course, I did cancel original plans & book a day in park & 2 nights at one of the value hotels there before head to BWV for bulk of the trip. As charade said, I missed the sweet spot as to pricing lol. It’s gone up in a handful of days since JIK anyone is on that fence…hut-hut.

Great to hear you were able to get park tickets and a room for your granddaughter to see Epic. Yes, those hotel rates have been all over the place.

I hope you are able to find something reasonable. That’s one thing I don’t worry about. I’m happy to rely on the airport shuttle.

I will keep looking. I will find something. I remembered that Hertz gave me. $50.00 voucher towards another rental this year and I found it so that was an unexpected plus. I can use it now or later.


Need to go to store today for a few items.

Going to call my niece and see if her and little J are available for lunch today. I have not seen my little buddy since I have been back.

Poor guy, I’ve aged him the last few months, his dark hair is really starting to go white. Told that is common with stress. Least he still has a nice head of hair!

Great to see you again, Janet, and to hear all is going well. I had to laugh at your husband's hair turning white! I can't believe he is going to be 70 y/o and hasn't got white hair already!!! Mine started turning in the mid 30's.

some pull on jeans. The last 2 times I have been through MCO the scanner showed something at my waistline. The only thing there is the zipper and button of my jeans. I’m hoping some jeans with no metal will keep that from happening again.

Something like that happened to my daughter 2 years ago when she went through security. They pulled her out of the line because something showed up below the waist line!!! They searched her pretty good and didn't find any reason for something to show up! It was funny watching all the action while the lady security person checked her out. I know I shouldnt have laughed, but her face looked so funny through it all and she was so embarrassed. She figures it is the snap on her jeans, so she has decided to never wear those again. Congratulations on your upcoming trip

We have had to postpone our trip next to Spring for various reasons. It didn't work out this fall, but that's fine. Maybe all the bugs will be worked out of Epic when we get there

We are finally getting warmer weather in the 60's today, which is like 80's to those in the South, lol.
The flowering bushes are starting to bud. I took a walk around the yard for the first time this year. It was so nice to get out and about. We rode the golf cart on our path through our woods, and got stopped at the sharp turn by a huge fallen tree! So Roger backed all the way out. I went back and walked the path and climbed over the tree. It was so nice to get outside and roam around. It's not quite Spring here yet, but we take advantage of the nicer days No bears yet! We have plenty of birds and even had a fisher show up at dawn a few days ago. I had never seen one before.

I’ve checked both off the to-do list for today . Actually, did doctor up some frozen taco meat with lots of toppings & cheese. Glad I had some put back. Found a cuke lurking in the crisper and it became that mayo/sweet/sour salad Middle DS enjoys. He’s been working lots of weird midnight sort of shifts, eating patterns strange at those times. It will wait on him in the fridge.

Decided to get some sort of takeout, will let the mr choose, then buy & fly lol

Today I went shopping for some pull on jeans.

Jean shopping is the worst. I’m at the point I don’t try on in the store, just grab a few & hope one fits, the rest go back.

i do a lot of athlesiure wear. Lots of support in the better sort of leggings. I do go up a size & wear more of a tunic top so everything isn’t showing

Nice. Hertz is my favorite vendor now. There’s been some decent AAA rates combinable with free day coupons. I always sort of of hold my breath & hope they will drop at least a month or two before trip. They start so high since covid.

Bingo! She’s not what I’d deem capricious by nature. Pretty sure she’s never actually come out and asked me for anything, other than her favorite foods I make. Her parents did a great job with her.

Thankfully, my stylist was onboard to do baby highlights so it has blended far better than I had expected. She insists I have to wait another 6 weeks for fear the next set of highlights will wash out…as they have in the past on me when getting them done too soon after general anesthesia. Weird phenom

Aw, sorry. Do think it will be a more enjoyable experience once the buzz has dimmed and the park is running smoothly. Always that learning curve for employees and ride efficiency to hit the sweet spot.

I gave up after the space babies episode.

My family side all over the place with hair. My mom’s went from near jet black to a dark grey. My sister was nearly all white in high school. Me, well, it’s been almost 5 months and my roots are a light brown/dirty dishwater (ugh)

Most of the women on my mother’s side get thick, dark hair. The downside is that we go gray early. I don’t remember a time when my mother didn’t have gray hair. I saw my first grays in high school. I think that if I stopped coloring my hair now it would be all white.

I’m going to try to get back to sleep now.
Does anyone here use TSA pre check? I have been thinking about doing it but wonder if it’s worth it.

I did get out yesterday and picked up my niece and little J. We had a nice afternoon. It is still a little cool out so we decided to go to the Mall and J played in the play area and rode some rides.

He wanted to have a pretzel and chicken for lunch so lunch was decided.

He also wanted to go to Target his favorite place to shop. Of course Aunt Robbie bought him another vehicle to go with his growing collection of vehicles. It was a big Fire Truck.

The Easter Bunny was at the Mall and J did go and set by the Bunny and patted the Easter Bunnies paw. He told the Easter Bunny that he had nice white fur on his paw and big white ears to which the Bunny shook his head in agreement. This Bunny had glasses on and J thought that was interesting.

It was so nice to get to spent some time with both of them.

Not much going on today. Maybe lunch out to our favorite Mexican restaurant.

My pooch decided take a flying leap & plant himself on my chest @ 5 am today. Unusual, After I took stock and realized my incisions were still intact, he was shown the hallway. Stayed up and watched law & orders until ‘time to wake up’.

Cameras showed we had 5 deer in field across from my home last night, momma & her does from last year. I fear for my flowers & plants.

Does anyone here use TSA pre check? I have been thinking about doing it but wonder if it’s worth it.

Exactly. At the risk of sounding mean, I do wonder how some of them get/retain followers & what the criteria was to be invited. So many seemed absolutely clueless about the various lands & rides.

It is kinda of funny to watch I have to admit on a few. I don’t understand totally all the things required.

My grandson said they set up an account and start loading their content to youtube and do get paid by youtube according to how many views their videos get. They have people who join their page on YouTube.

They also set up Patreon accounts where their subscribers pay them a certain amount of money.

I learn something new everyday.

I looked some of this up and there are actually some multi-million dollar youtube content creators. Who knew.

Your photo with your granddaughter reminded me about my sons experience with the Easter Bunny when he was little.

Sorry the photo is bad. This bunny is definitely HHN material. I wanted to get a photo with him and the Bunny and he took one look at the Bunny and fell to the floor in horror. He busted his upper lip. Then he relented and sat on the Bunny’s lap. I felt so bad. I was consoling him after and when I Kneeled down to give C a hug at his level I realized that the Bunny with the huge teeth looked massive to him and scary.

That Bunny in the picture with your granddaughter is as you said HHN material too.


Little J controlled the amount of closeness to the Bunny. It was sweet as the Bunny really let J get comfortable in his own way and was not touching him. J petted the Bunny’s paw and talked to the Bunny a little and that was it.


This bunny looks more docile and cartoonish.

I asked J if he wanted to get his picture taken with the Bunny and he checked the Bunny out before he sat down. You can see in this picture that J is giving the Bunny the once over. It was so cute.


Here is a picture of my son with his favorite character of all Darth Vader. I took him to see Vader at the Marshall Field’s many years ago. C shook Vaders hand and told him he was his friend and Vader talked with him and picked him up for the photo and C loved it.


Memories.

Your photo with your granddaughter reminded me about my sons experience with the Easter Bunny when he was little.

Oh not my GD, just a random meme. Although, the Easter bunny was the only time she adamantly refused to engage for a picture.

That’s wild re your DS & the rabbit! Seems like the idea of a giant rabbit messes with kids, perhaps the size is the thing? Meanwhile, the costumed characters in the parks don’t seem particularly threatening, go figure.

Nice J was comfortable, PS love shark slides GD has a similar pair she uses as slippers

Good evening. An uneventful Monday for me.

I was scrolling through Facebook earlier today and came across a post from a group called something like “Universal Studios and Epic Universe Friends and Family Tips and Tricks”. Someone had posted a screenshot of their preview tickets. Someone else commented “What is Epic?” I hope they were just trying to be funny.

I didn’t know there were so many influencers.

I am amazed at how many there are and how much….um…..stuff there is out there. There are so many bad ones I just scroll past whenever I see them in my Facebook feed. I follow one girl who does silly Disney skits. Someone asked if she had been invited to the Epic preview. She said no, but that was okay because she has a full time job that she has to be at.

Ah yes, first words of the weather report, clear skies and almost cold out. Well yeah, but at least could see that bright white moon high in the sky, as I drove. Winter lightweight coat still in use. Mid April. What? Sigh. Warmer days should be coming soon. And yay, some of my tulips are out already, showing their colors of reds and purples. My white ones don’t come up until around Mother’s Day, mid May.

Yeah, my kids have pictures with the Easter bunny, though older one was not to be near any dressed up characters, until he was almost school aged. Little one didn’t mind.

Yay, happy camel saying get over this hump of a day feeling Wednesday, and a most fabulous Friday feeling day, is then a day away.

Ever so glad to enjoy a 3 day weekend, with lazy Friday ready to be enjoyed this week. Kids are watching the sports teams on the other side of my state. Ball game last night, hockey one coming up. Not a bad drive, as about 5 or less hours to cross the widest part of my state. 70 mph turnpike makes it even easier.

DH is a coffee drinker. Fresh or stale, hot or cold. Doesn’t matter. Wawa has any size free coffee today. Guess where I am stopping on my way home?

Time to refill the tea cup. Ooh glorious sunshine now.

Almost time to leave work. I have been rearranging travel plans. I got a call yesterday telling me I had to change the hotel for my Micky Dolenz concert. The hotel I had chosen is brand new. They were supposed to open 4/22 but have delayed their opening date. I managed to find something a little closer to the venue.
I also changed my Orlando flight. I was originally going to fly out of Greensboro, NC. The advantages were arrival time and cheap flight. Disadvantages were having to change planes in LaGuardia, and having a 5:00 am flight time coming home. I switched to a flight out of Richmond. Disadvantages: farther drive and 500 more flight miles. Advantages: Still have a decent arrival time and my departure time is 1:30 pm. I’m also not being routed through New York.

Bored out of my mind at work today. My boss is taking the day off, so it’s just me and the other therapist. The first client cancelled and the second on is doing a telehealth session. We had no mail today so I have no claim checks to post. This is going to be a very long day.

On my 3rd cuppa with feet up taking a break. Busy day for me, still trying to get back in the groove, told it will take months.

The Mr & I hit up four different stores this am for Easter supplies. I wound sitting in the car for the last two. Doing a dumbed down version of cooking this year. So glad I made up all the baskets before surgery. Left them on my desk in den, shocked nobody has nosed around them by now.

First time ever, bought a frozen lemon merengue pie, oh the shame lol. The mr will help make his pumpkin pies tomorrow. Just can’t handle cooking for a crowd or the egg hunt we’ve aways had. Next year will be back in fine form

Waiting for the 3 doz hard boiled eggs to cool. Family does enjoy doing them. I will do one and call it a day, more fun to watch the “big kids” have fun.

Dinner today is going to be frozen chicken strips from SAMS with a hot honey dressing and coleslaw. At least they are getting fed & nobody has complained about the new menu selections.

And yay, some of my tulips are out already, showing their colors of reds and purples. My white ones don’t come up until around Mother’s Day, mid May.

Every single year I plant tulips, something digs them up over the winter. Eternal optimist, picked up yellow ones today. More hyacinths too, I only have purple, grabbed some pink ones; which I didn’t know was a thing.

Charade - surprised the hotel chain didn’t offer you accommodations in another property. Glad it worked out though. Don’t laugh, it always bothered me to have a connecting flight that was taking me in the opposite direction of where I wanted to go.

Speaking of, during daily check our booked SWA flights; was shocked to see a big price drop on the leg coming home after the 4th of July! That trip has dropped over 75% since I booked it shortly after schedule release date. Sadly, things will be decidedly different soon with their new policies

They did offer other accommodations, but I didn’t like the hotel they moved me to, so I cancelled and found a better rated hotel closer to the venu.

I’m still going north before I go south. The new flight changes in Philadelphia.
