My morning is off to a wonderful start. Around 8:40 I heard the doorbell. I was asleep and not expecting anyone, so I ignored it. Then the neighbor’s dogs started barking. They were louder and crazier than usual, so I got up and looked outside. The woman from our pest control company was here doing an outdoor treatment. (Dh forgot to tell me that she was coming.) About a half hour or so later I heard voices outside but didn’t think anything of it. A few minutes later the doorbell rang again. Before I had enough time to get out of my chair and get to the door someone started pounding on the door. It was my next door neighbor. She was livid because the pest control lady was spraying chemicals in my yard while her dogs were outside. She kept blabbering something about needing to call her vet because the dogs shouldn’t be out for an hour…Keep in mind that I was still half asleep at this time. I apologized and told her that I was not aware that pest control was coming today. Neighbor insisted that I needed to inform her whenever we have outdoor treatment but left before giving me her phone number. The pest control lady wanted to talk to me. I could tell she was shaken be the encounter with the neighbor. Neighbor told pest control that she needed to be notified whenever they were treating our yard. Pest control told her they were under no obligation to do so. Pest control also wondered why if neighbor was so concerned about her dogs she waited over half an hour to check to see why they were barking and going crazy. (These dogs bark at everything. They still bark at us and we have lived here for 7 years.) I’m afraid we may have gone from indifferent neighbor to slightly hostile one.
Hope everyone else’s day is off to a better start than mine.
Well, it helps I sleep with my handymanSorry to hear of your storm damage. Hope you were able to get your window fixed.
I always recommended home buyers check the maps and pick up the mine subsidence ins. Same as with the flood ins. Both are relatively cheap considering regular home owner’s won‘t cover that sort of issue. Supposedly, my current house wasn’t eligible for either. I have some random cracks that formed that tell me otherwise. Again, the mr fixed with a new mini header in one of the basements under said porch I referenced earlier. So glad he works for food.I had never heard of the continued fires in coal mines in Pennsylvania.
I haven’t heard that phrase in ages. Enjoy the time with your family. I’m guessing you will be in overdrive cooking up some amazing foodMy brother and his lady friend are coming to visit on this Sunday for at least a week, so I will be pretty busy. We'll eat lots of good food, visit, and have a good time with family.
Ooh, good timesDreaming, and pricing with other trips for us to do instead of Nashville.
Can you text him to verify? I’ve seen people disembarking the U buses at the resorts from the airport. Never understood why they went that route with so other options in the area, especially as the cost is relatively high for multiple people.Have used Art (Standard Co) before but not sure if he is still in that group.
Love a good theme going in wall artOnce framed it will probably go on the wall in dh’s office next to the eagle picture.
can’t imagine the work involved in that. Have always done on our own, however, I’ve never plowed thru anything but a simple estate (as in I’m usually the one paying bills that are due for family Vs cashing a check lol). as mac said, have to do right by them in the end.You and mr mac have done amazingly well with dealing with your brothers estate, it has been time consuming for you, but you`ll get there.
Morning all, been plodding away on web all day, think I’m caught up on those chores. need to season the tbonz i’m grilling out later. Then going to brave a pool float for hour or so before i shower. dipped into mid 50’s last few nights. That will be a tricky process to not get “wet” & freeze.
Tomorrow is my annual squishing of the girls day

I’m on the pooch side of the yard spraying. Do think it would be lovely if the neighbors getting the spray job would let you know via the company sending out a mailer as a courtesy...as they did back in the dark ages.
Supposedly, according to chemlawn (um, I’m reading chemicals in there), says their treatments are nontoxic to pets & humans.
Wow, some awesome BD memes for the big cheese here
Mac, hope u had a whopper of a day…as in eating one, or Taco Bell
just clipped the pooches nails, he tends to act as tho we are killing him. He’s better at it than last fur baby…had to wrap him in a cocoon to avoid losing a finger or two lol
GD talked us into definitively trying to secure disney race spots in April, registration opens on tuesday. May the force be with me to secure them, go like hotcakes I’m told.
Well, it helps I sleep with my handyman& he works cheap. Did finish up the front/side porch. Have yet to find the perfect rocking or glider chairs. I want cushy comfort

Ooh, good times. I do love to plan trips. Any front runners? Have you considered a cruise?

I think I would be less annoyed if she hadn’t started off by yelling at our pest control person and then pounding on my door just seconds after ringing my doorbell. I get that she was upset about her dogs, but she could have been a little more polite about it. We have had this treatment done several times a year for the past 5 years and this is the first complaint I have heard. I suppose this could have been the first time she had seen someone in our backyard spraying, but I doubt it.I’m on the pooch side of the yard spraying. Do think it would be lovely if the neighbors getting the spray job would let you know via the company sending out a mailer as a courtesy...as they did back in the dark ages.
Believe it or not, Dave & I have been convinced to try the 5K.Good luck getting the girls into the race in April! Highly competitive ones I hear to get, will keep fingers and toes crossed for them.
so un-PC, i enjoy all the bond movies (well, except that George Lazenby? one) for what they are…Sean Connery my first crush, roger Moore just so drolly funnySo, sitting in the kitchen with the doors open and Tom has a James Bond movie on.....not fond of the later ones as much as the earlier ones that had a lot of humour in them.
That would be a bit alarming, never know if a kook will be worked up enough to bring a bazooka to a ‘dog fight’ these days.I think I would be less annoyed if she hadn’t started off by yelling at our pest control person and then pounding on my door just seconds after ringing my doorbell.
Thank you, Pumpkin I was happy with the results. You are right, those pampering days are needed by all for sure.OOOOOO I hope your enjoyed it and were happy with the results! We all need those days of pampering.
The funny thing is I don‘t like mint either, but this drink I do enjoy every once in a while.Yes, the Green Fishy Ale is not for me and anything with mint is not for me either.....one and done for sure.
Well, complete change of plans today, I did think we would have a quiet day but friends called this morning and asked if we wanted to go get some lunch and then a movie as they won`t see Tom next week on his birthday, so we did, lovely lunch of champagne and seafood then Mission Impossible, it was really good and only around 7 people including us in the cinema.
Sounds like you are moving along with your vacation plans. It will be here before you know it.I have taken care of my September trip plans for the most part.
Have a few odds and ends to deal with but it will be completed soon.
Trying to decide on car service for the trip.
Have used Art (Standard Co) before but not sure if he is still in that group
Hope B’s new shoes help her.Good evening. We had a busy day today. B and I had brunch and then went shoe shopping. I was very impressed with the level of individual attention you get at this store. She tried on 5 or 6 pair of shoes and then decided on the pair she liked best. She has a long shift tomorrow, so hopefully will have less foot pain.
I was wearing a Muppets Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem shirt. One of the store
Thank you Charade.Happy belated birthday to him.
WOW…..that tree is laden with pears. They look fantastic. One of our pear trees......
Sounds like a lovely summer day, except for the nephew.has been a lazy day today. Made a nice brunch then later I took a nap. Now trying to get caught up on a few little house things before the start of the week.
Heard from Nephew in Georgia today. He had Covid last week and was pretty sick, but is doing better. I had heard of the new version of Covid making its rounds.
Believe it or not, Dave & I have been convinced to try the 5K.
done laughing yet? A good carrot to have me eat more of them and lose some tonnage
so un-PC, i enjoy all the bond movies (well, except that George Lazenby? one) for what they are…Sean Connery my first crush, roger Moore just so drolly funny. Daniel Craig very easy on the eyes. Any excuse to work this pic in. look at his baby blue…

at least the neighbor’s company does post the yard with little signs that they did spray, although since it’s after the fact; not sure exactly what that accomplishes.
I’d rather deal with the “permitted” chemicals being applied by a licensed contractor than Joe Blow using a can of his dead uncle’s DDT he found on the basement shelf. If anything that woman should be more concerned about people applying certain garden fertilizers
Happy Sunday afternoon everyone

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday. We are heating up again today. We have had a few days of 60’s in the morning to mid 80’s in the afternoon. That is pretty nice for our area as it is usually really hot.
Today has started our heat wave again. High today 95 and if the weather stays on the predicted trajectory we will hit over 100 on Thursday.
We were invited to go and enjoy a nice day and evening at younger sister K’s camping area yesterday about an hour from here. She and her hubby have a nice big camper that they keep at a Camp ground. It is situated in a beautiful area of Southern Indiana.
Dad and half sister from near Chicago were in town and they came for the day as did our son.
K and her hubby barbecued the most delicious pork chops, cheeseburgers and hot dogs. We had number of side salads and pineapple upside down cake for dessert. It was a beautiful day and everyone had a nice time.
K was so sweet and sent lots of food home with everyone so no need to cook tonight.
It has been a lazy day today. Made a nice brunch then later I took a nap. Now trying to get caught up on a few little house things before the start of the week.

I watch little J tomorrow. So looking forward to being with my little shopping Buddy.
Need to get movin soon.
Have a wonderful Sunday everyone doing whatever makes you happy.

Days until vacation.
Sounds like a lovely summer day, except for the nephew.
yes, it’s indeed hitting people here too. The three i talked to recently all only had one vaxx then quit, said the same thing: it made their arm sore.No surprise there?
the one older lady is going on three weeks with it, said she just tested negative but, still feels lousy. She Was under weight & sedentary to begin with, told she looks quite frail now & has fallen a few times in her house. A shame, bet she needs some PT to rebound.
hoping it’s a blip on the radar and we don’t have a wild & wooly winter of resurgence
Um, i always thot that delivered decidedly tongue-in-cheek, a parody of the southern rock songs of those times. Last thing this world needs is less humor.Do you know Queen are deleting their 1970`s song Fat Bottomed Girls from future purchases due to it being offensive
enjoying the fam?Just popping back in to say, Happy Birthday, LynneG.

bond estate already approved the editing of his books, no idea if the movie versions will be on track too
we only have a finite number of birthdays, might as well stretch them out till they scream, with de-lite!
waiting for teeth & hair appts, does it get any better? Lol. Hope the dates work out to your satisfaction.
since I’ve been in heavy “grauber“ mode (grandma uber as the ’lil dubbed it years ago), waited a bit too long to schedule my annual car inspection. Now only appt That worked is on the 30th. Don’t expect anything major on the vehicle but, never know with ”a classic”. Worst case I’ll garage it until the September travel is over.
the mr dropped his truck off for the body work and what I think must be a brake issue as it started to squeak in tire well that was involved. The insurance rental is a Ford Focus. Um…has to be one of the smallest vehicles out there. Certainly not apples to apples. Oh well, no OOP. They had “no idea” how long it will take Due to needed a paint job on new parts…that takes at least two days at the end of it all.
