Christopher has looked forward to Trick or Treating for weeks now. I dressed him up in his Power Rangers costume and he was the cutest little thing you have ever seen! :goodvibes

We had been to about 5 houses when we come up to this one house with a TON of Halloween decorations. Of course Christopher is enthralled and loving the skeletons and pumpkins. When we come up to the driveway....it is lined with little bags that are filled with rocks and have a tea candle in it.

While Christopher is saying TOT he looks at a bag and kicks it. The man who came outside freaks out! He shouts "DON'T KICK THE ******* BAG YOU LITTLE ****!"   My child.....*MY 3 YEAR OLD BABY* lets out a wail and buries his head in my stomache. :guilty:

I am usually such a witch but I was honestly so shocked that this monster blew up at Christopher. He seemed to actually "bow up" at my child. I scooped Christopher up and just left. I also didn't want to upset him more by freaking out on this fool.

Christopher begged to go home and is still cying....he says he never wants to TOT again. :guilty:

Oh! That poor baby! I would have dropped christopher off, and came BACK and made a scene! :guilty: :guilty:

(((HUGS))) Poor guy. I can only imagine if that had happened to my three year old. Hope he gets over it.

What a total jerk. If an older child had of done that I can understand why he would be mad, but your son did not know what he was doing. Hopefully you can calm him down and bring him back out. It's better to get back on the horse right away!

I'm so sorry. Poor little guy. What a mean man. I don't understand why people put things outside during ToTing that they don't want kids to touch.

I'm sorry to hear that. :grouphug: Your poor baby.

I don't like the idea of putting tealights in bags -- sounds like a fire hazard to me, and that's probably why that guy freaked out when it got kicked. But I don't think they belong outside lining driveways. Get some solar powered lights to line the drive.

Wow, I'm so sorry that happened to your little guy. Hopefully he'll remember the fun parts of the night and won't be too scarred by this nutcase. That's really sad though, I can imagine how he felt. My daughter (who's 20 months) got sad when we rang a bell and no one answered, so I can imagine if someone yelled at her. I hope he otherwise had a fun time though so you can play that up and hopefully he'll forget the bad part.

Good grief! It's not like your son was some teenager running amok!

That is too sad.. Maybe tomorrow - when he calms down - you can try to explain to him that not everyone acts that way..

I mean why was the guy bothering to give out treats if he was going to yell at little kids? Grrrrr..

I'm so sorry that happened to your little boy! I am so mad that this man hurt his feelings...it probably scared him to death! the nerve of some people. Sheesh.

At least you can console yourself with the fact that Christopher probably won't remember this event...but your neighbor will be a angry, bitter man for the rest of his life.

The funny thing is...I am usually THE MAMA BEAR. I guess my fight or flight kicked in and I just fled. I really wish I had kicked all of his stupid bags down....and yes, I know 2 wrongs don't make a right..but I would have felt better.

I think I see a tee-peeing in our future...ready? Let's go!!! I'm in...

That's so mean! I'd wait until DS goes to bed (you don't want to be a bad influence after all) and go back and kick all his bags over. And TP the yard. Jerk.

What a jerk! There was no reason for him to blow up at your little guy. Those decorations weren't a very smart idea, if you ask me.

That's horrible!

Do you, by chance, know anything about this guy, like is he a neighbor that has a reputation?

That is the weird thing! He has 4 kids of his own.....and seems so nice and normal. :confused3

I DID go and tell all my friends in the neighborhood about him and they say he is a "nutcase" and very strict with his own kids. Sheesh, if he would treat a little 3 year old that way that he doesn't KNOW...I would hate to see how he treats his own kids.

How is your son now? did he ever go back out? did he move on from it once he was home? seriously, I can't imagine how my 3 year old, Daniel, would have taken that.

Christopher is watching Garfield now and waiting for Daddy to come home from work. :) He never went back out and started crying hysterically when I would try to put him in the golf cart (big subdivision, no way we could walk).

BTW - my hubby is sooo MAD! I wonder if that jerk would have done that if my hubby had been there. :sad2:
