I was approved for a Kohls card today!:cool1::cool1: I need to learn all the tips and tricks on how to use the card for the largest discounts. I already know I can pay my balance right after the transaction so I won't carry a balance.

So come on ladies tell me your secerts. I'm all ears!

I had a Kohls card until about six months ago. I canceled it because I was charged TWO late fees! Now keep in mind that I have a very high credit score and pay all of my bills completely off every month. I WANT to pay my bills on time. I always pay online. There was always some problem with their web site. I would go to their web site and it would say that I owed zero. Wrong! Then, a late fee! They also do not have an automatic payment that you can set up. I think this is the way that they make money. They were really nasty when I called about this problem and would not wave either fee. I finally said that I wanted to close my account and pay my bill off right then by phone. They wanted to charge me $10.00 to make a phone payment! After I complained, they finally waved the $10.00 fee. As a result of this experience, I am no longer shopping at Kohls. It is really their loss because I was a very good customer who spent quite a lot of money with them.

My advice to you is to pay your bill by mail and send it in a couple of weeks before it is due. What ever you do, do not trust the web site!

OP you can get codes for kohl's charge customers to use online, you can use two discounts per order, just google kohl's discount codes, they really are great when you find something on clearance that you like. i've never had a problem paying my bill but i've never tried to do it online, either through the mail or i just pay at the store, you can pay at any register.

That's really interesting. I pay my Kohl's bill through their website every month and have never had a problem.

I don't think the OP will have a problem paying her bill either, since it sounds like she is planning on using it and then paying it off immediately, as in before she leaves the store. I do that with another store charge that I don't use very often.

While you may not be able to schedule a payment through the Kohl's website, you should be able to do so through your bank's online bill pay service.

Always use a coupon! Never, ever shop at Kohl's without one and make sure to shop when they are offering Kohl's cash.

I've never had a problem paying online thru their website either. It's the only way I have ever paid my Kohl's bill...

If you use Kohl's cash, I find something close to amount of KOHL's cash, that I am not going to return, then ring it up separately to get biggest bang for my buck. If you use Kohl's cash, with a coupon, they do some funny "Kohl's" math that usually works in their favor. However, you can NOT beat them on price, return policy, or selection. I LOVE Kohl's.
I pay my card on their pay by phone or in store. I do not have good luck with their website. I have also had problems dropping in store's payment box, but they were good about returning the late fee on that one. I do get a paper bill monthly. Have fun, always use a coupon & check the Gold Star clearance racks often! HAPPY SHOPPING!!!

When they have the 15, 20 and 30% sale.. you can ALWAYS find the 30% off code somewhere online(retailmenot.com, ect...) Also if your kohls cash expires... most places will still let you use it. If you need to get to 75$ for free shipping... just order a pair of shoes or something and then return to store if one close.:rolleyes1

I also had a problem with online payments. I "paid" it online, and thought it was over until I got a notice in the mail that included a late fee. I searched and searched and there was no record of the payment ever going through. However I distinctly remember when I paid it. I didn't think to write down the "transaction number" because in all my online bill paying (besides that one incident) had I ever needed it.

They always deducts the $ off coupons (Kohls cash is a coupon) before they do the %off. So yes, it makes the % off worth less because the total is less because they deducted the $ off coupon first.

I have had promblems paying them online also but you can't beat some of the deals I have gotten so I just pay in the store now.

How close were you to the deadline when you made the payment?

Did the payment you made on line eventually get there?

Some stores and banks require that on line payments be made X days before the due date.

Always do a print screen when buying or paying for (or even selling for example on eBay) on line. (Requires more than just pressing the PrtScn button.)

You can use Kohl's gift cards to pay your balance. I purchase my gift cards thru our church scrip program.

So now is a good time to shop because they are having 30% off, there's a free shipping code and they are giving kohls cash for spending 50.00.

Thanks for the tips.

I cancelled mine as well due to their own shoddy bookkeeping. I also always pay off my balance for ten years! I had a $200 bill and paid it the day it came in. Kohls cashed my check, but applied the payment to someone else's account. The day after my payment was due I started receiving calls from their company demanding payment...after explaining that it was inn fact paid, printing out the endorsed check with their account on the back of the check the calls would stop....for about three days! Then begin again! Their reps were rude, called me a liar said if I couldn't pay my bills I should just admit it!

I argued my case with three different supervisors and it took literally three months for them to figure out they had my money all along...early in fact. Then I had the fun of getting them to remove the three months of late fees and I am still arguing to get the so called non payments removed from my credit report. For me no savings would be worth the aggravation I went through.

If you have to use a coupon, the store is overpriced.

Kohl's is a ridiculously overpriced store with mediocre products that relies on continual "sales" and coupons to sucker people into buying.

My advice on how to get the most out of your Kohl's card? Cut it up with a pair of scissors and shop someplace else.

Don't forget online shopping! They are one of the few places I have seen that you can put in 2 coupon codes. I saw this picture in the flyer that I wanted that I didn't see in the store. It was a pretty large picture and it was on sale for 59.99. I went online and it was even cheaper, 54.99! I found a free shipping code on retailmenot and then was also able to use my 30%!

I feel your pain! I'm a "mature" person and Kohls acts like I am mentally disabled. I charge ALL my expenses using several different charge cards and pay them off completely each month using online payments. It's not my first time at the rodeo. Kohls is the ONLY merchant I have had a problem with. Just the fact that they do not have the option of scheduling a payment in advance is very telling. They are the only merchant that I have ever used that doesn't offer scheduling a payment in advance. It is quite obvious to me that they WANT to charge people a late fee. Bye Bye Kohls!

You can pay your bill instore-even the day it is due w/out penalty.

That's what we have done. I just bring the checkbook along and immediately after the purchase, pay off the balance. No issue then.
