Logically, March 2004 is way better than 2003 ~ here is why.

2004 ~ ds will definately be out of diapers and only need an umbrella stroller (he will be 4 year and 2 month old). dd will be 10 years old (she's been 3 times already, ds has been twice and he's only 2.5 years old).

2004 ~ I'm pretty sure ds will be tall enough for many thrill rides.

2004 ~ it's that much further away that I can save more $$$$$$.

2004 ~ When we went in April 2001 and April 2002, I felt one year wasn't enough time between trips. Everything was too familiar.

2003 ~ I WANT TO GO.

So what do I do? S

Here's one argument for going in 2003...
Your DD will still be 9 yo, and so, you'll save money by getting her a childs pass.

will DS still be 3 in 2003 that alone is a big money saver, we squeezed in a trip last June just to go before Ds turned 3.

You could spend a few days at disney then take advantage of the excellent deal at Universal.

You could go to Sea World.

if you want to try something different divide your trip between a beach and Disney World, you could even try renting points at DVC in Hilton Head or Vero Beach.

If you are going to vacation anyway might as well be at Disney world. Where else can you vacation as a family and still find something for everyone. And you really can't find family friendly restaurants up to Disneys quality anywhere else in the world, and trust me I have tried.

Because each year your children are getting a little older and a little less enchanted with the magic. I already notice a difference between my daughter was 3 and 5. She is more into the rides and less into the charachters.

You must take advantage of the great deals (assuming they come) because you never know what will happen next year.

EE is back and they may cancel it again, (I'm using this for staying on site in January.)

Hope this helps,

Allison

Sandra,

Oh, this all sounds so familiar! Our second trip was a little less "magical" than the first. The kids were older, things were familiar. MGM looked really "old" the second time around. Things that were cute the first time were "corney" the second. That's why we are planning on staying at Universal in April, rather than disney. We will still head over to MK and MGM for our favorite rides, but we have the "newness" of universal to discover.

I also can appreciate the reasoning of waiting an extra year so that the cash flow is a bit better, but when I talked to my husband, he refused to consider $400 Canadian a night to stay at the YC. And that was assuming a great discount! I love Disney so much I'd spend every last available penny on a vacation - but hubby is keeping me grounded and making me think how much to we really need to spend to have a good time?

Is there enough stuff there that you haven't seen/done yet, that can keep another trip "new" and interesting?

If you can afford to go in March/03, I'd say do it! Because, ya know, if things work out right, you can always go back again in 2004!!! ;)

Schucks! You guys are great pals! I know what you mean about MGM ~ I thought it was soooooooo small this year. dh and dd did the One Man's Dream thing while ds and I walked all over the park. I realized I'd walked by everything in under 15 minutes! I am really thinking 2004 would be MAGIC ~ that's what my heart is telling me. Thanks all! S

Hey Sandra, don't forget tomorrow is Universal Day at the Florida Travel show! See what kind of specials, etc. they are gonna have. Hey you never know you might win the Grand Prize and problem solved!

See ya nada!

SATURDAY ALREADY! YIKES! I am not prepared! dd really wants to wear Cinderella dress, problem is, no glass slippers. BUT if that's what she wants, it's okay with me. Doubt any prize, but lots of fun. No time for ds's costume. I have a class tonight and dh might work tomorrow. 7 new classes start next week so Sunday will be busy! I still hope to go tomorrow, but we have to wait until the last minute. We are also having more school council problems ~ personality differences ~ I think our school needs a workshop on HOW TO HANDLE DIFFICULT PEOPLE! LOL! S
