I can't believe it. I took my car in to be serviced and got it back the next day. I went over to my Mom's and as we were driving to Costco, I happened to notice it was gone. :sad2: The good thing is I bought two of them for this very reason. You better believe I'll take it off before my next service.

I have had several different ones taken from my car.....

We actually just bought a new Camry and it has no external antenna so I plan on hanging captain mickey from my rearview mirror!!!

I have had my castle topper from WDW stolen too. I know a few folks who have had the same misfortune. I wish I could think of a way to display my vast collection of antenna toppers inside my car rather than risk having them stolen or weather beaten.

i am very conscientious of my antenna topper. as a matter of fact, i just changed my to the stitch antenna ball (brand new) and depending on where i am, i will take time to pull it off.

by the way, i noticed that some antenna balls have their holes a little larger than others. my friend saw hers fly right off when she was going over 50 mph. the hole in my stitch ball was big too. i had to use a sharp object and dig deeper into the ball so i can get that snug fit on my antenna.

Don't try this at home....

I too was concerned about our attena ball being lost or stolen so when we got back form our last trip I had what I thought was a stroke or genious :sad2:
I filled the hole on the attena ball with white glue then proceded to put it on the attena of our new van. I told my husband how bright I was and why hadn't anyone else thought of this simple solution. I was so happy to see my sorcerer Mickey everyday when in the van, he looked so happy up there.
Then the van got dirty, well a quick trip through the car wash should do it. Pushed the mirrors in and off we went. Poor poor Mickey. He held on tighter than the van could hold on to it's antenna and off they went. My husband was madder than I have ever seen him but our 4 kids were thrilled with their new Mickey wand.

Like I said, don't try this at home

LOL....

We change the antenna ball on our car periodically. The only antenna ball that was stolen off our car was "Wilson", the volleyball from Cast Away (Tom Hank's movie). I could have sworn that I saw it on eBay later.

OMG, I "ALMOST" did this today but i couldn't find the tacky glue. LOL. thank goodness i found a tool to dig a deeper hole.

We had the exact same thing happen to ours over the summer. But I figured out what happened. I don't know if you took your car to a dealer or not (like me), but they ran it through the car wash, and Mickey got sucked right off the antenna. Since it was DW's jeep, I knew I couldn't take it home with no Mickey. I asked the guy, and he actually ran into the car wash area and found it for me.

Just had some minor stuff done last weekend, and we made sure we yoinked it off before we turned over the keys.

If this applies to you, you might be well served to give the place a call. Maybe somebody found it, or could find it. Worth a shot, if nothing else.

I've got one even better--I have had THREE of these taken (not all cruise line)

What has happened with mine is I have an On*Star antenna (other than that my car has no antenna's) So I put my toppers on that.

Darn vandals instead of just popping off my topper they have broken my antenna off, leaving just a nub!!! :guilty: :earseek:

The last time it happened was at Saratoga Springs at WDW. They took my Thanksgiving Pilgrim Mickey topper antenna and all.

The bad thing is that the On*Star external antenna is almost $60!! :earseek: :earseek: and a standard antenna won't attach to the mounting so each time I have had to buy a new antenna.

This time I was able to find another antenna that was only $30 and it is flexible so it won't snap off as easily. Now I just hope that no one takes the topper.

I had a Scorcerer Mickey on my antenna, but somebody stole it, when my car was in the parking garage at school. I have a red Mickey antenna topper, but I'm afraid to put in on cuz I don't want that stolen too!

I have all the seasonal antenna toppers so I change them frequently. I was going to crazy glue one onto my antenna but then I wouldn't be able to change it. With my luck, someone would try to steal it and break the whole antenna off of my car! All of my "Mickey balls" have weathered the car wash with minimal damage. They all end up looking pretty rough from the weather in general. My son even noticed squished bugs on our Valentine's topper. Disney needs to come up with an antenna topper holder that you can put on the dashboard or back deck of your car so they can be protected from the weather and thieves.

The ears froze and broke off on mine!
My DD chewed the ears off my Easter Egg antenna ball before I could even get it on the car. Thankfully, she outgrew that phase. I have Krazy glued parts back on mine and they have held up pretty well!

this is what I have come up with since all of mine kept getting stolen too....

I attach them to floral wires and make them like flowers on a stem and rearrange them nicely into vases. I have two currently and a third one in the making. I have them in my house...but if anyone can create or think of an idea for my car...please please let me know...thanks,crystal

Good idea! Maybe I could form the wire into a wreath and hang it around my rear view mirror? Hmm.....

I was just complaining about this to a co-worker today. I have had three antenna toppers stolen myself. I know how aggrevating it can be. Now I keep them on my desk at home instead.

After noticing that my topper was missing this morning, my co-worker told me that my "Breast Cancer Awareness" magnetic ribbon is also missing!!

Just keep thinking...."I'll go to heaven and they won't"!!!!

Has anyone thought of using velcro to put them on the back deck of the car? I have the set of Disney bobbleheads that Keebler had a couple of years ago. They kept rolling around so I bought some of the velcro and they haven't moved since. I also have some of the antenna toppers but haven't lost any yet!

I've had so many antenna toppers taken that I don't put them on anymore. The last straw was right before we were to leave for WDW - I had my car all cleaned and I put 3 brand new antenna toppers on my antenna - Red Mickey on the top, Yellow Mickey in the middle (I poked the hole right through with an awl) and then the Mickey with legs on the bottom. Drove to work, parked my car, came out of work...walked to my car and no antenna toppers...someone took all three!!!! I couldn't believe it....now I drive around with an undecorated antenna. I only put them on for special occasions and take them off when I leave the car.

Well so far so good our Canadian antenna topper has lasted since our last trip in August. Though a little waether beaten. Has managed to survive a car wash and has looked pretty cool all frozen 2-d Mickey :) However i have to tell you our story of the antenna toppers. When we first went last January we saw all these balls with Mickey ears. We just couldn't figure out what they were. They sure looked like ugly Christmas ornaments. But we thought this was the new in thing. Why would anyone buy one of these. :rotfl2: I would never put this on my tree. :rotfl: Then when we went back in August a lightbulb went on :goodvibes I said honey are these the thingys you put on the antenna for the car? He said could be but we were so slow :rolleyes1 we still needed to ask a CM. They said they were pretty sure so we hesitantly bought one. And waited we baited breath until we got home. Yes it worked, our first antenna topper. I am so proud to have a Canadian Mickey. At work I look out the window for my husband to come and pick me up and when I see the car I always say Mickey's here and the staff laugh. :rotfl: Now I have to go back and get more to change with the season. Can't wait. :cool1:

I have my antenna topper on the controller of my wheelchair. At Candlelight Processional someone tried to remove it but only suceeded in tearing off Minnie's ear. I was not a happy camper. Minnie has been replaced and now I have several other. Need to go on a cruise and get the Capt Mickey one.
