Someone in my house has a "death wish"!

I agree 100%. I've got enough to do without adding one more step. (and why do they leave the socks all wadded up? I'll unwad a sock, but check pockets? Nope.)

It doesn't happen much this time of year, but in the colder months, my kids can get changed and somehow manage to have the undies still IN the jeans and the socks coming out the bottome of the legs! And it's all inside out too! :Pinkbounc It's like they grab the undies and jeans together and pull straight down, grab the socks along the way and just keep pulling! Everything stays "attached"

I only like it when I find money...........not change but bills. I tell them thanks for the tip. I also do NOT go and get clothes from everyones rooms. If it is not in the basket it does not get washed by me. This is true even if it is next to the laundry baskets. They know when they miss.\

I know the mean and nasty mom!!!!

DH now does the laundry because I can't get down to the basement anymore, but he does what I did. The kids are told to remove all stuff from their pockets, BUT we do check. If something gets found BEFORE it goes in the washer, the clothes are returned to their rightful owner & they have to do the load themselves (it there's one, there always seems to be more offending items.) If we can prove who messed up the load with a tissue, chapstick, etc, they have to fix the mess too.

We also don't turn socks rightside out or "unwad" them. If they go in that way, whoever is folding just doesn't! Of course we all take turns folding & I've been "caught" by the kids not turning my socks rightside out. ;)

If it's too big of a deal, you could do what my good friend does . . . each person in the house does his/her own laundry.

Mine is 45. He uses paper towels instead of kleenex. Sometimes I remember to check, sometimes I don't.

Always quiet, I feel your pain. ;)

I don't check either!! I also will NOT turn that ONE leg of the jeans right side out!!!!!! If you have a teenage boy you probally know what I am talking about. They always seem to have one leg face each side!!! It drives me nuts!

I am a mean Mom also BOTH dd and ds learned to do laundry when they were 12 I do not put in a load of wash at 10:00 on a work night just because someone forgot to put something in the wash At that point they are on their own and they are the ones to lose sleep!

DH just thinks that the laundry fairy handles everything!!!

Hey! I don't know how I do it, but I manage to do the same thing sometimes! I'm always amazed and slightly amused.

Sorry, I erased your smilies in your original post so I could try to fully express myself. :p

I'm guilty of pocket checking before washing. Just cuz they are supposed to empty them doesn't mean they always catch it. I figure checking is easier than dealing with the mess.

I hate when anything gets past me.

I'm another one who can get her clothes of all attached. :o

I check all pockets of all pants before washing just so I don't have the aggravation of Kleenex covered clothes......and what I find, I KEEP! If they miss it, too bad.. :)

I refuse to turn inside out socks, pants and shirts the right way. I will fold them that way too.

I had the pen thing happen the other night...at 2am!!! We got in bed late, obviously, an my dh put his work uniforms in the wash with some of my dd's clothes...well, when he put them in the dryer, I heard something banging around in there...of course, by then he was snoring, so guess who gets up? lol anyway, a gel pen exploded in my dryer:rolleyes: soooo, I woke him up to deal with it....all he had to say was "I was looking for that pen all day"

I tell the girls to check their pockets before I wash them and I try to check all the pockets but occassionally I miss one. It's usually the one with the lipgloss.

ROTFLOL! I'm sure in the middle of the night that wasn't funny, nor was the mess funny, but it is funny that he was so oblivious to the mess and the fact that it was the middle of the night and he had a huge chore ahead of him! :p
