Someday: the Sequel! A Dec 2013 PTR

Okay WHOA! You have done a LOT here since the last time I was here!!!! I have a lot of reading to do now…

So, we head home. I then sit the kids down and give them the schedule for the day. Told all about things that were going to happen that day. Told them we needed to sit down before dinner and have a serious discussion with them. So we clean some and then get ready for Trick or Treat at our local Minor League baseball stadium. (A little funny here, the State College Spikes are a farm team for the St. Louis Cardinals... not the "closer to us" Phillies or Pittsburgh Pirates. :rotfl: Seems odd to me!) BTW, Brenda's Zebra costume came in time for yesterday.

I've been meaning to comment about Zulily, but I keep forgetting. I do order from them semi-regularly, but only for items that I don't mind waiting a month to receive. I usually forget that I placed an order with them by the time I receive it. I can definitely understand being frustrated with the ship time if you aren't expecting it to take that long. I actually had two items that I ordered that ended up being cancelled. They refunded my money, plus they gave me a $10 credit for each item. I have to say I was pretty impressed with that.

I got my bracelets today and they are Great:banana: Thank you Brenda and Tammy. We will be wearing them at the Xmas party!

Came over from the facebook page and I have loved reading and following along! This is our 1st trip and we are so excited! We will be checking in on the same day and staying at POP as well.

Hey everyone. I'm sorry I haven't been around today. I am still in a funk. I haven't really done anything Disney related since the reveal day. I'll be back tomorrow for shout outs... and maybe another day if I get to it. Please stick with me.

Ask him if he wants to pay for rental or let you use his car. I don't like that he put a damper on your excitement.
I did tell him that he doesn't get to say a word if he can't cough up the $600 for the car. That ticked him off and pushed him over the edge. It was at this point that we crossed the point where he almost called me stupid.

"]The fact of the mater is, VERY HONEST HERE, my dad and his wife live VERY comfortably. They have no bills other than monthly expenses. The just this past summer purchased a brand new Ford expedition (Not sure, I think it is an expedition) and paid cash for it. My dad is a cross country truck driver but his wife is head of PR and Human Relations for a very large national company. Money is really no object for them. The problem is, they believe that EVERYONE lives this way. The other irritating thing is they are constantly helping out her children...including (and I am guessing at how much a part of this they took part in) a new boat for her daughter. The one time we asked to borrow money from them, before Brenda was born for winter tires, we were told we would need to pay 50% interest! :scared1:

I love that the kids want to see us again.

Do NOT let your Dad do this to you. You can't change him, you can only change your reaction to him.

Watch the reveal video again and be happy.
I really have to get out of this funk today. I can't let it keep going. The kids are still over the top excited.

Wooohoooo!

don't worry about your dad. I have seen him post on facebook too. He just seems like a downer at times and you can tell he totally doesn't get the Disney thing. You are an adult and if you want his opinion about the care, tell him you'll ask or if he is worried offer to pay or shut up.
Problem is, he doesn't get much of anything that isn't a trip to MN.

See! Brenda is already acting responsibly with the money!! Paying for her own BBB is a very grown up decision! Glad she liked the earrings, I have a set and the pumpkin ones are my favorite too ;) My son Jack LOVES those coloring packs, and they are nice to have when I take him places he doesn't want to go lol

DO NOT let your dad rain on your parade. We all know some people just don't "get it" when it comes to Disney, and jealousy is a powerful thing. I'm sure he just wishes he could have been as wonderful of a parent to you as you are to your kids! It sounds like you are taking good care of your car, and being cautious. I will keep my fingers crossed for your safe journey! Maybe you will get stuck at Disney and just decide to stay!! :rotfl2: I'm kidding, I'm sure you won't get stuck. If I see any good deals on cars, I will let you know! Do you have a Sams Club or Costco membership? Sometimes they have good coupons....

Have the kids talked about anything besides the trip since Sunday night? Trust me, this trip is not a bad idea!
Every word and breath is about Disney since we told them. They pour over the Disney travel book like there is going to be a test at some point! Each day they have a new thing to add to their "I want to do that" list. So cute!

DITTO to what ALL of these smart gals said about your Dad.

The trip is NOT a bad idea, it is the BEST idea after the summer you have had.

I think dad doesn't really understand that summer we had. I think he believes it was just like any other summer. He has no idea.

Subbing for now!
Welcome!! So happy to have you with us!

Okay WHOA! You have done a LOT here since the last time I was here!!!! I have a lot of reading to do now…
I haven't been slacking... at except for the last few days, but I am ready to move on now! Try to keep up! :lmao:

I just read...what a great reveal idea!!
Thanks! It turned out to be such an awesome time!

I'm late - but I'm subbing in! Can't believe the coincidence that we are going at the same time again! :wizard:
Is Disney open at other times of year??? I was thinking this was the only time to go! :rotfl2:

I have learned not to order anything that you need in a timely manner... but I am not sure I will ever order again. I don't like their shipping policies at all. :confused3

Awesome! So glad they came and that you like them. Please let me know if they were not the right size.

Welcome!! Our first trip (also our last trip) was Dec 2010. It was amazing! We do so love Pop. The kids were excited to hear we were staying at Pop again... although, they would probably sleep in the laundry closet if it meant going to Disney again! :rotfl2:

*****************************************
Have to share this funny from this morning. Some of you might have read it on my Facebook page...

I love my daughter! She is so cute. This morning she asked if I would spend some time trying to get her orders for her bracelets... she needs more Disney money. When I told her that I have sold about all I can, she tells me that we need to go door to door tonight and sell them. LOL If you know where we live, you know we don't go door to door to sell anything! LOL

She is quite the little entrepreneur!

I'm glad you basically told him to put up or shut up ;) that's really awful that he can't be more sympathetic and that they are so one sided. Karma is a real thing though, so I wouldn't dwell on it too much, you deserve better! And now it's time to focus on the excitement!! I'm counting down the hours to my trip and its after yours so should be over the moon!

I am so sorry your dad is getting you down. Would he let you borrow his car or do you just not want to ask? I think you are a great mom and after all you have gone through and all little Gavin has to deal with, you deserve this trip. I wish I knew some way to help you save money on a rental or had another idea for you. But the good news is the trip is getting clser:cool1:

I am all caught up! I have an idea on the car thing… Do you think it would be cheaper/more affordable to just rent a car there and back and NOT have one during the week?? I know there are a couple of companies that drop off/pick up there on the resort property. I'm not sure- maybe it would be just as expensive… but maybe it would be better? :confused3

I LOVED the reveal!!! How sweet that the pizza place was so concerned about making it RIGHT for you and how they just went above and beyond for you! Make sure you write up a good reviews for them!!

Love Miss Brenda's bracelets!!

Oh! I have been meaning to tell you! I am going to be Cortlyn's Daisy troop leader! :thumbsup2

I have started to focus on the excitement. I am putting this all behind me. First thing we are doing Monday after school is our countdown calendar! I am only putting it off till Monday because tonight is trick or treat and this weekend is camping.

He lives in MN so it would be a car rental just to go get it! :rotfl2: I am back to being glad the trip is getting closer. It's just such a shame that I see what my relationship with my dad has come to.

We did check the price on not having the car sit there for a week. It would be considered 2 one-way rentals and the price is MORE... I found that so hard to believe.

The Pizza place really did do any outstanding job. They have earned our loyality.

Thanks for the kind comment on Brenda's bracelets. She is so happy to be making her own money. Not to mention, since Gavin's medical supplies have been costing us more than planned and money is tight, it will be nice not to have to worry about her getting the things she wants.

Good luck with your troop! It really is a whole new adventure! I am constantly on the go and doing things with the troop.. but it is a lot of fun!

I gotta finish catching up but I simply had to stop and comment on the reveal. The kids looked so extremely happy and it was such a great story to read. And, I can't blame you for the flowing tears at hearing your little princess singing in the tub. :lovestruc

Okie dokie, I'm back again. I'll pray that you have safe travels in your vehicle. It's sad that your dad can't simply keep his mouth shut and let you be happy about the trip. If he doesn't want to pony-up the money for a rental car, then hush up about it.

Ok, I am putting everything behind me for the next 45 minutes and getting this PTR rolling again!!! I am back into planning mode and feeling good about posting Day #5!!

At sometime during this day it will hit me... This is the half way mark of our trip.... I'll wonder where the time has gone. I'll think about how long it took us to get there... and then how it seems like it all passed in the blink of an eye. But I will also remember that I have quite a few days left! :cool1:

On this morning we will have to get up and get showered fast so we can head out the door. Each of the kids have a very special appointment. Brenda and I will head off in the direction of the castle for one special Bippity Boppity Boutique appointment. Unless it is a million degrees below zero, she will be dressed in her Belle dress. She will be transformed into a beautiful princess... as opposed to the beautiful little girl she is everyday. This was one of my favorite experiences last trip. It was special to see her "change".

At the same time we girls are off to make Brenda a princess, Jon and Gavin are off to make Gavin a pirate at the Pirate League. I am so excited to see his end result. I swear one of these time we are going to switch. Jon will go to BBB and I will head to PL!

When all the transformations are complete we will meet up somewhere near the castle for the big reveal. That is the exciting part for me. The part I wait most for. Last trip, Gavin was almost on top of me before I realized it was him! He really is a super cutie. Not sure when face he will chose this time, although he is a big Jake fan and I hear there is a new package. So, we will see.

I have set 3 fastpasses for the day. Staggered here and there... First is Pirates of the Caribbean. This so ties into Gavin's day. So Then we are off to meet up with Cinderella. Our last Fastpass is for Enchanted Tales with Belle. I have to tell you, I am most excited about this one! Just like Brenda, I am a HUGER than HUGE (Yeah, I know, not a real word) Beauty and the Beast fan!!! There is no tale as old as time that is better than Beauty and the Beast!!!

If you noticed, we are missing any kind of Dining reservation for this day. There is good reason for this. We are doing Quick Serve all day... until I win mom of the year by allow my kiddos to devour all the dessert they can shove in their little mouths at the Wishes Dessert Party. I am sure the kids will be so wired but they will calm down the minute Wishes begins... and then kick in to hyper mode again the second its over. I want to tell you that the tickets to the wishes dessert party are some amazing pixie dust from Bill and Tracy. I am sooooo looking forward to sending this time with them and enjoying this new experience. I have looked at so many different experiences this far, and I was in tears when Tracy told me about their gift. What an awesome time we will have... and what could be better then ending the night with Bill and Tracy??? :cool1:

The kids have been so very happy. It reminds me just how miserable all of us were this summer. I know we still have hurdles everyday but at least they are only 10 ft high and not he 50 feet they were this summer.

Thank you for your prayers. This experience with my dad has been an eye opener. I knew we had issues before, but I think they are more like a subscription now. He would rather be able to tell me "I told you so" than have his grandchildren be safe. It's his decision and I can't change it. I just know where we stand now.

Girl, I know what you're talking about. John has "issues" AND "subscriptions" with his family that are much like those you have with your Dad. It's easier to just accept it and move on.

We have Wishes booked too (not the same day, but still ... ) and that is a GREAT idea. We do have CRT for lunch, but that's at noon. I think we'll skip the "meal" later on and just grab something with a snack credit around 4-430pm and then take full advantage of the money spent at the Dessert Party!
